what I'm finding interesting, now having watched The Odyssey and learning about what other people who've read it aftwards think of it, is that the parts that I really loved in the film, were things that Nolan changed or added.
Like I thought the best scene in the whole film was with Sinon, Elliot Page's character, in hades. That really stood out to me, and he's not even a character in the story? or at least not directly in the Odyssey. And of course the biggest change/interpretation was the perspective shift near the end, where Odysseus sees sacking of Troy as his biggest shame. And that it was beginning of the end for civilsation. I had never seen that interpretation before and I loved it.
so its just interesting.

If I have one critique for the Count The Rice game design, it would be the explanation of the final room.
When you have a carrot-in-the-box game going on, you need to state what your version of the "carrot" is, which in this case was the "Win Condition Envelope".
Their premise was so vague that Ify was unable to properly decide whether to bluff or not, because he doesn't know what they both want from the boxes. Does he win by getting the $100? He doesn't know! And when Ify says his box has a $100 bill in there, why would Catherine want that? Even if he was bluffing, the appeal to go for the other box is too great because they want to know more answers.
It's waaaay more of a mindfuck game of bluffing to just state "one of these boxes has the win condition inside and the other doesn't, you have to convince your opponent to take the empty one. Go."
Chapter 85
I miss him
i don’t know about you girlies but the way the cw’s supernatural literally said “the one single difference that makes this universe special from every other universe out there, the only event that puts you outside of the plan of a vengeful and petty god who wants to destroy you for sport, is an angel who, in this universe only, raised the michael sword from hell and promptly fell so deeply and swiftly in love that he never obeyed another heavenly order again. through the unexpected experience of human love, a weapon of god discovered free will, and this world was never under His control again” has me fully fucking spit roasted. it’s 2020 and supernatural (2004-2020) decided to go all in on the idea that our deepest expression of free will is love, and that the person who will save the universe from destruction is an angel who thought of himself as nothing more than a good soldier until he laid hands on one singular human soul and raised him from perdition. they said gay love DID and WILL CONTINUE TO piece the veil and save the day!!!! and not even god can do shit about that!!!!!!!!!!!

What if the Truman show did a queerbait arc
What if the Truman show did a queerbait arc but then they found out Truman was gay for real and had to recalibrate and their tv network would have to take a definitive stance on homosexuality, yay or nay in the late 90s and it's not like they can recast Truman. They would have to either plot him into an it's okay to be gay fake happy relationship like they did with his tv wife or try and scare him off homosexuality by doing homophobic gay misery storylines at him to try and keep him firmly in the closet.
They did that last thing to my friend Dean Winchester btw.
holy shit have you evver tried this new substance called album in order
