[That is a thoroughly generic and non-helpful answer. Are they for-realsies from hell type demons? Are they monsters who just so happen to look infernal? Because it would be nice to know if sheâs going to have to get holy water and hope that someone elseâs faith is enough to kill them or if she is going to be able to just wade into things and kill them herself.]
[That name drop, however, does give her a helpful answer on how deep shit could be. Still doesnât tell her how to kill the fucks, though. Ah, well, might as well try her favorite. Violence.]
âStupidâ is the word Iâd use. [She aims a laser blast towards the center of the horned-oneâs head.]
As Wendalyn leans in to aim her lasers, Harrison takes a shot of his own. Â He aims his de-gun at the winged wraith, silently praying that the gunâs upgrades will do their job. Â However the shot misses when the agile demon twists in the air at the last second.
âShit!â Harrison yelps. Â And for some reason, that is what sets his son off.
Devin begins to wail. Â Not merely fuss or yell, but wail. Â The sound rips right through Harrisonâs heart and he can feel the force of fear behind it. Â His son is petrified, probably feeding off Harrisonâs own uncontrollable fear. Â
Meanwhile the horned demon lets out a roar of pain, scrambling to cover his face from Wendalynâs laser vision. Â But the fly demon is on her in an instant, tangling his talonâs in her brown locks and lifting her up into the sky by her hair as Harrison screams âNOO!â. Â He tries to curl into a little ball around his son, deflecting blows from the wraith by conjuring a magical bubble around the two of them. Â But even as his magic holds, the barrier does nothing to cut the sounds of Devinâs terrified screams. Â
[Itâs a bit of a pity that she doesnât have the chance to make a remark about Harrisonâs pathetic aim, but she is given other things to worry about. Namely, the indignity of being being picked up by her hair. But, in the end, itâs Devin who makes her decide that she is just done with this whole situation.]
[Switching in and out of super speed, Wendalyn rips each of the demons apart, starting with the one who dared grab her. And, unless any of them have some wonderous healing, they arenât going to be pulling the pieces together anytime soon. Covering in all manner of ichor, she eyes the blue pair checking on their safety.]
Harrison is vaguely aware that the wraith is no longer hitting his shield, but it takes him a moment to realize what the hell has just happened and survey the damage.  Or in this case the carnage.
Pieces of demon lie all around him, with pools of ichor and splatters of what he assumes is demon blood.  Oh god.  She must haveâŠ.. did she?  She must have used her super speedâŠ..  He lets the shield drop, still holding a crying Devin who has buried his face in his fatherâs chest as he wails.  Good, Harrison thinks.  He doesnât need to see this.  He doesnât need to remember this.  He doesnât know what to do or say, and so he just stands there blinking as Wendalyn looks down at them. Â
Shock. Heâs pretty sure heâs in shock. Â
[She reaches out to check if his shield is still there and is sort of glad when it isnât. It means if there is a sudden attack he isnât protected, but it also means that she doesnât have to argue with him about dropping it since itâs one of the few things she canât punch through.]
[Too often she has seen those eyes to not know what that means. She has seen those eyes on people she has rescued, in the mirror, and even on another blue face. Rotating her wrist, Wendalyn offers Harrison a bloody hand.] Iâll take you home.
