Thankfully, as of yet, everyone I know is safe. 

Selfishly, I’m sad that I had such a fun night myself (I went to Yeonnam, so that I wouldn’t have to even brave the Hongdae crowds.) and that I don’t get to share it now. I dressed up as the song “20 Eyes” by Misfits and then when I got to the venue, I saw the bassist of the band dressed almost exactly the same as me (thank god at the last minute I decided not to wear my red docs because otherwise we would’ve been the same--he had face paint instead of eyes though, but was clearly misfits themed) and then when they played, they even played 3 misfits covers.  I was going to ask for a picture together afterward, but decided to just go home. The news was coming out more and more then, and I had trouble trying to sleep. My one friend I knew’d been in Itaewon earlier for a gig hadn’t seen my latest stories and didn’t answer my text, but it turned out she had gone straight home to bed and was fine. 

we just said hello and I gave his dogs a pat and he told me to be careful of the heat and have a good day.

it made me so jealous, to be honest. I used to have a crush on him before I knew he had a girlfriend. He was the one who reached out to me and let me into the No Brain superfan group. aw man. The weather was amazing because it’d rained the whole night so the air was clear. And No Brain did come and performed a song with the bride’s dad, AMAZING. 

Also I looked really good. I felt like that moment in the Mummy when Evie is brought over to Rick and Jonathon after being dressed in the bedouin clothing, except I didn’t get a clear acknowledgement from the crush... I mean, I talked to him a bit and stuff and saw him looking at me occasionally, but every single girl there were getting their pictures taken with him (lol) and it was actually Vovo who ended up chatting with me so much that he accidentally followed us to the dining hall when he meant to go to the van (I guess they had another schedule, so they didn’t stay, which was a bit sad) 

the after party was good too and then going back to my hotel overlooking the harbor and taking a BATH was amazing. First bath in more than 2 years.

Then I got up early and walked along this ocean overlook walkway and it was just soooooo nicceeeeee. It would’ve been nicer to walk with a special someone, but it was nice having quiet time by the water too.

Today I walked to yoga class, ate lunch at a vegan restaurant, had a really nice fruity soda drink at a cool cafe, got paid to do some voice recording, hung out at the park drawing, discovered a new taco place to order from, edited an episode of a webtoon, and hung out with my very own cat in my little lofted apartment in Seoul.  

had this whole spiel like, hey, how are you? You know I”m not good at conversation and I don’t drink, but if you ever want to meet up in the neighborhood, let me know!

than covid anxiety

new girl observed my classes today

she looked kinda ill

I figured she was just tired and overwhelmed

of course it turns out she has covid

but we wore masks

and I am extra cautious any time I’m teaching to use hand sanitizer constantly and the spray my clothes down and she sat at the back away from anyone and didn’t say much. I talked to her up close for about five minutes total (masked) took a test tonight just in case cuz a bunch of bus drivers have it too and I’ve had to speak with them for moments the past few mornings, but it’s probably way too soon to test positive from her contact. I have plans tomorrow so I’ll take another test in the morning and probably another one sunday morning before going to yoga and a voice recording session. With how fast omicron is, I should know by Sunday.

The Crush(TM)

And of course the talk was mostly my friend teasing the rest of us for not being in relationships or getting married and we were talking about our parents and I was like “Every time my mom emails me she asks if I’ve met any cute guys.” And my friend pointed to the bassist and said “cute guy!” and the bassist was like “Old guy.” 

well the night went on and we spent most of it quizzing each other on music. The bassist and I knew more of the same music than the others. Finally I was like, I need to go home, I have yoga in the morning. ANd he was like “let’s take a cab together.” So we were set to take a cab and then the cafe owner was like “I also live by you, let’s all go.” So I ended up in the back of the cab with the cafe guy (who has also I guess been told to set himself up with me) and the bassist in the front seat. THe cafe guy asked me a bunch of questions about my relationship status and dating history. Both of them were like “please don’t use dating apps!”

anyway, after getting out of the cab, the cafe guy headed towards his place and me and the bassist crossed the street to our hood. We stopped for a moment outside his place and were like “Well.” I said, “let’s be neighborhood friends” and he was like “Okay, we can get food or something sometime, just DM me.”
