I need reassurance like I need air

One thing I've realised: I don't have to achieve something extraordinary in order to deserve my place in this life. I'm allowed to live quietly. I'm allowed to enjoy small hobbies and simple things. I'm allowed to work a job that simply pays the bills. I'm allowed to exist without constantly chasing something bigger. I don't have to compare myself and hold myself to an unreasonable standard all the time. Sometimes I can simply be. And still have worth. And still have every right to be here.

How crazy is it that when it's warm outside, a lot of us feel uncomfortable showing our bodies? We hide certain parts of ourselves and overheat instead of wearing short, breezy clothes simply because we're worried about how we look. It makes me so sad that we care so much about what other people might think of us. So this summer, I hope you feel a little more at home in your body. I hope you find the courage to dress the way you want to. I hope you find peace in knowing that other people's opinions really don't matter. No matter what anyone says, your body deserves to feel the sun on its skin.

Please don't hold yourself to healthy people standards of orderliness. Having a tidy house is for people who have the spoons to do that. Preparing proper food for every meal is for people who have the spoons to do that. Getting up every day is for people who have the spoons to do that.

I find it very offensive that the more unwell you are, the more things you have to do to maintain your health. Things like following special diets, going to medical appointments, making big and important decisions about what treatments to use. At the same time, the more unwell you are the less energy you have to do all of these extra things. It seems grossly unfair.
