🎙️ Meet Yo Slime — The Philly-Born Artist Turning Pain Into Poetry
"Yo Slime (Ikeem Stewart), rising Philly rapper, drops 'Mama’s Prayers' — a street anthem with soul."
📍 From Savannah Roots to Philly Streets
Yo Slime was born in Savannah, Georgia, but his story was shaped in the gritty streets of Philadelphia, where he spent all his teenage years grinding to survive. “Philly made me,” he says. “That’s where I learned how to hustle, where I made my first thousand, where I became who I am.”
🎵 Music Was Always in the Car — Even When His Dad Wasn’t
Music wasn’t just a hobby for Yo Slime — it was a lifeline. “My dad used to play music on every road trip. Even when he left, the music stayed. That’s what stuck with me,” he explains. “He used to write songs too, and I guess that gene didn’t skip me. For me, music became therapy.”
