There is a direct relationship between our ability to mobilize people in communities to protest and the pressure we can exert on elected officials to protect and enforce civil rights. Voting is absolutely essential, but it isn't enough

Is there something in...
If humans are unable to make sense and trust the physical world they inhabit; locations, conditions, people and the natural environment they encounter and interact with, how then can they be expected to make sense of an online world which has far many layers?
The internet has for sometime, been portrayed as a source of suspicion - order goods from a (fake) site and never get it or your money back. Information, is seen as untrue and unverified - open to other people’s (re)interpretation and free access, unless paid for.
Where does that leave human belief? If only in recent times have people felt comfortable making transactions online, what of interactions made with humans online and brought into the physical world? Are those, like a book, flowers or online banking, expected only to fulfil a want for a short period of time? Does the irl disappoint? Can what was created online transfer and maintain the same or similar existence offline, forever? Or are people as much commodities as a book or flowers?
Blackness is greatness

I felt a shift occurring within me on Friday. I believe this shift was an acceptance of self and with that, an acceptance of love.

Not for the first time and unlikely the last, I was simultaneously there and unthere.
A joke was made about genocide and everyone laughed.
Central to modern expectations, and modern ethical feeling, is the conviction that war is an aberration, if an unstoppable one. That peace is the norm, if an unattainable one. This, of course is not the way war has been regarded throughout history. War has been the norm and peace the exception.
