out of the core four, i genuinely believe we are the most shut off from mike’s inner world. here is how i would work with this in s5 vol. 3.

i need to see mike get vecna’d. we as the audience need that bridge to connect to him. the wheelers are so prone to repressing their feelings and not fully communicating, and i think vecna getting in his mind is the only way the writers would give us anything out of his mind.

it would be entirely against his will. his deepest fears and memories would finally come to light in a way that makes sense, in a way that the viewers might be able to connect with, in a way that his friends have never seen before. i have very little hope that this will happen, but i genuinely think it would have a shot at saving mike’s character.

as a longtime fan of the show (and someone who has considered in depth how she would rewrite it) and an old hag of 21 on the internet, i think we all need to remember… a lot of it is quite simply badly written. and that’s okay to admit. not everything you like has to be good. again, i do not have much hope that this is the direction the duffers are taking, but this is an angle i do wish people would consider more.

i think we forget that this show doesn’t exactly have the best writing. yes, everything is intentional. yes, it also leans into that cheesy 80s feel. shit man the near total rewrite of everything we know about the upside down has me frustrated as hell. however, i feel that the show has been kinda going downhill since season 4.

my controversial takes? glad we got jancy. i think byler can still happen but if it happens, great, if not, fine. i don’t think the coming out scene was rhe worst because WE ALMOST NEVER GOT COMING OUT SCENES WHEN I WAS A TEEN. even bad rep meant the world to me as a queer girl in the south and. okay. this is gonna sound mean.

i genuinely think some of you forget that even questionable/bad rep can help open the door for someone who might not otherwise see that in real life. i know i didn’t until i was fourteen. fourteen!!
