one of my best friends, riot @juicyparsons​ (in the above picture, with their kid!) recently managed to get out of their abusive mother’s house, but they need help paying for food and rent and hopefully presents for their kid! riot is a disabled nb black lesbian so they already have to deal with a lot of shit societally, and i really dont want them to be under more stress than they already are, especially since they’re working 3 jobs atm 

riot is honestly one of the best people i’ve ever met & i don’t even know where to begin with describing how wonderful they’ve been to me and so many other people, even though they don’t always believe it.

i love them and i would massively appreciate any donations people can spare, because living with their mother was a nightmare for them but if they can’t afford stuff they might have to move back in. please don’t let that happen

It’s been a little over 6 months since Brian’s grandparents got in a bus accident on the way to Mexico. Grandpa unfortunately didn’t make it and grandma lost her left leg and her mobility. Unfortunately, things have only gotten harder for the Licea family. Little by little they have been trying to make their home more accesible for grandma and her wheelchair, but with three teenage children, only one job between the couple, it has been hard. Rosie, grandma’s daughter, had to quit her job to take care of grandma full time, as her mobility is limited to riding around the house or the back yard in her wheelchair. Rosie’s siblings and family have come together to make the house accessible the best way they can by helping with home renovations during some weekends. Their kitchen has now been under construction for 4 or so months, making it hard to cook meals. They still need to make grandmas room accessible and the restroom. Things unfortunately keep piling up and pulling in urgency. Last night we discovered a hole in the bathtub in which grandma is bathed. She has a bathing chair and it can fall through at any moment, so now they have to replace it as soon as possible. Grandma still doesn’t have a ramp to enter and exit the front door of the house, and the unleveled floor from the kitchen makes it harder for her to move her wheelchair from one room to the other. The dryer suddenly stopped working, and they also had to replace it because Rosie can’t leave grandma unattended while she goes to the laundromat. I’m making this gofundme because I don’t see how else I can help Brian’s family. This accident and grandmas new issues with accessibility has really impacted them. Grandma used to cook, take care of the kids, and do all the other chores that Rosie couldn’t do while she and her husband worked. The loss of income has made things very difficult and the bills have also fallen behind with only one income. I’m a pregnant student and Brian is the only one working between us so it’s very difficult for us to help. I’m asking ya’ll to help us make their house more accessible for grandma and take off some of the stress this has all brought on. If you can’t donate, We will gladly accept any help with construction or donations of construction materials to help us finish the renovations.
