itās fun to talk about bestie being turned by daniel or lestat but realistically if either of them did go through with making bestie their fledgling, armand and louis are beating them up about it at least once š
iām not sure if it would be a loumand reunion where they team up on daniel or lestat, but they both definitely hit whoever turned her at some point.
and no, it doesnāt matter if bestie asked them to do it or if sheās happy that itās been done. loumand might be a little mad at her, too, but because sheās their baby deer that can do no wrong, the worst she gets is a verbal scolding.
do you guys think main bestie verse bestie would ever kiss lestat? louis and armand have desensitized her to the concept of a platonic kiss between friends. by the time sheās hanging out with lestat, sheās probably acknowledged that there was a bit more going on between her and armand but still, her perspective on kissing is more laid back now.
and we all know lestat isnāt going to make a big deal about things š
i think bestie might be a bit hesitant because thatās something that could really hurt armand. even if theyāre not talking, she knows thereās something there.
they wouldnāt necessarily have to make out or anything crazy though. i could see them kissing in ways that do feel as objectively casual as something like that can be, a quick peck in greeting or lestat briefly pressing his lips to bestie as a way of saying good night.
maybe bestie gives him a kiss when heās in a bad mood or after heās been particularly well behaved for most of the night.
i also feel like lestat has a complicated understanding of normal relationship boundaries. he genuinely thinks his romantic relationship with his mother is fine. not necessarily normal in the sense that others wonāt find it strange, but he thinks itās fine that theyāve chosen to cross those boundaries.
lestat wouldnāt mind establishing a friendship/dynamic with someone that includes displays of affection that arenāt considered normal for that kind of relationship. idk just an idea as i think through their dynamic.
also while weāre talking about bestie and lestat i just know sheās treating that tour bus like itās her own. itās not that sheās rude or entitled because sheās always polite itās just that the bus might as well have her name printed on it.
she has sketchbooks and charcoals out in the open and everyone knows to be mindful of them. she starts painting her nails and ends up painting other peopleās nails as well. she has her own pink fuzzy blanket in the busās sitting area and no one gets to use it but her and lestat.
thinking about armand and louis discussing bestie in private. louis has been with armand for nearly 8 decades, heās familiar with the small signs of interest and tension that armand tries so hard to suppress. louis would love watching armand pretend that he isnāt flustered at all.
armand starts pouting because his husband is so mean to him :( teasing him about his crush :(( and then to make things worse louis makes up some excuse for bestie to try to comfort armand after.

I know we've discussed Lestat and Bestie acting like siblings but that scene of him buying the book and furiously scribbling on the pages makes me wonder what his reaction would be when he first reads about her? He is going to have a heart attack when he reads that a human woman he doesn't even know is being called The Vampire's Bride.
He'd look her up and be like, dang it, she's actually talented and attractive. D:<
Oh heād be crashing out so bad. The annotations on the chapter of the book that introduce Bestie would go crazy. āBride to who??ā; āLouis??!??ā underlined five times; āArmand???ā; āUnoriginalā; āCannot be that talented.ā
And then Lestat stops his reading to google her. At first, itās just about seeing what she looks like, but it quickly spirals out of control.
He hate scrolls through a few photos and articles, maybe even scrolls through her instagramā¦and then he throws his laptop against the wall. Totally sane and well adjusted reaction by the way.
if lestat found out abt the threesome he would genuinely start tweaking
lestat would be hooting and hollering over it omg. āplatonic! yes iām sure it was platonic when you were with both of them!!ā and louis tries to explain that technically it was more about armand and bestie. this does not help.
now that itās confirmed that lestat knows modern slang/borderline brain rot i canāt stop thinking about how weird he and bestie would sound to everyone else:
bestie seeing lestat walk around the tour bus shirtless: body tea.
Lestat being a little jealous about bestie being loved by fans without actually having to do much is so funny to me because I always think of bestie as being Alexa Chung level of famous. Like does the average person who wasnāt on tumblr or had some sort of fashion interest know the importance of Alexa Chung? Maybe not, but those who did? Obsessed. Bestie 100% has a cult following who would genuinely die for a moment with her. And that might actually be worse for Lestat than her having a million fans because sheās not only managed to mesmerize his favorite vampire but total strangers???
This is extra funny because theyād be so bickering competitive siblings about this. Thereās definitely a petulant āIām more popular than youā argument at some point š
Lestat is so used to being the most mesmerizing, the one thatās magnetic enough to draw everyone in that watching Bestie do the same thing on a larger scale might force him into an identity crisis.
Bestie is Lestatās Lacy but also in a wayā¦sheās his Lestat as well.
I want to reference something specific from season 3 episode one so Iām putting in a spoiler warning cut!!
If we want to go down the āLestat has an identity crisis because Bestie seems more loved than himā route, it might be interesting in an angsty way to have that be the nail in the coffin that convinces Lestat to ask Gabrielle to come.
In the episode, we see that he isnāt doing the best mentality. Heās having a hard time for a variety of reasons, and heās texting Gabrielle because heās seeking out company.
What if in bestie verse, Lestat is going through the same arc, and then at one point, while heās emotionally exhausted, he tries looking for Bestie. Someone tells him that she left an hour ago for a photo shoot.
Lestat unlocks his phone and sees that his last few texts to her have gone unanswered. Sheās never left the touring group without telling him before, and if she canāt be there for a show, she sends him an encouraging text message. Tonight, sheās done neither.
He feels so alone in that moment that he finally bites the bullet and asks Gabrielle to come to him.
Bestie comes back from her photoshoot, completely apologetic. She was double booked because of the photo shoot and an art gallery opening and the evening was such a mess she didnāt have time to look at her phone.
Lestat sort of stiffly accepts the apology, maybe even commenting how beautiful she looks with her hair and makeup professionally done, but deep down, he knows itās only a matter of time before she leaves too.
When Gabrielle does show up, Lestat can tell that Bestieās a bit uneasy. I donāt think heād necessarily view it as āpunishingā her but a part of him would find some satisfaction in the idea of her being jealous. (Sheās actually more disturbed than anything else but Lestatās not going to understand that š)
I feel like this would lowkey eat as a season 3 fic/start of a multi chapter fic ?? idk
About the threesome idea for bestie/Armand Louis, because my computer hates me and I can't seem to make the links fit.
This is hot! It also ties into the Louis legally marrying/Armand vampire-marrying bestie! If she is a virgin, as has been talked about, then this is even more special! Plus, there's an artery in the thigh, so Armand could get two types of snacks while giving bestie two types of pleasure! Or the guys could bite her neck on either side while he enters her!
I just need bestie to get the hot vampire bite like Louis did the first time he and Lestat had sex!
And of course, as part of aftercare, Armand feeds bestie his blood to heal her bite marks right up!

I love the vampire bite idea so much. Armandās already right there, he might as well take a little nibble. I can imagine Armand pausing for a second after breaking the skin to check her reaction, when he realizes that sheās still into it, he keeps going :) It would add so much to the moment from a trust perspective as well.

i know we have some fics of bestie and lestat interacting, but i kind of like the idea of him seeing her for the first time and not really knowing who she is. we talked about lestat seeing bestie interacting with daniel and then asking daniel about her, and i feel like that could be so fun and messy.
lestat sees her hanging around and he thinks sheās pretty ofc bc we all know bestie has an insane face card. heās lowkey immediately a little crushed and sick to his stomach to find out that louisās darling distraction is attractive š
then lestat decides to lock in. heās curious about her, especially because he knows sheās important to louis and armand.
i feel like daniel would be able to see the gears turning in lestatās head and would immediately try to shut it down. lestat, the same train wreck heās been observing all tour, has no business being interested in someone like bestie.
daniel blacks out and becomes puritanical for like 90 seconds š he might even pull out his phone and tell armand to get over here before itās too late (itās not that armandās perfect but at least daniel knows he actually cares about bestie in own weird, gremliny way.)
unfortunately being told not to do something makes lestat want to do it so much more š
Bestie verse concept with slight season 3 episode 1 spoilers below the cut regarding Lestatās music career.
So you know how they confirmed that Lestatās music career isnāt doing as great as he wanted it to? Well Bestieās an artist, a nepo baby, and featured in Danielās book, so it might be kind of fun if sheās having a moment in the media while Lestatās kind of struggling.
Iām not saying sheād necessarily need to be super famous/more famous than Lestat, but it might be fun if sometimes he has reason to feel like she is. Maybe a group of The Vampire Lestat fans get excited when they see her, or she has to miss one of Lestatās concerts for her own prior commitment related to her career.
Lestat would want to crash out so bad. Itās not just about attention. Bestie is so effortlessly loved, and now sheās this natural talent that doesnāt have to work as hard to get the recognition that Lestat hasnāt quite earned yet.
Also if Bestie is having a moment, I can see her going out of her way to do things that will end up in gossip magazines to increase the chances of Armand having to see something that mentions her (which is so Louis fantasizing about Lestat finding Danielās book).
If sheās feeling displaced by Armand and Louis, I can also see Bestie crashing out a bit and really holding onto this success/public recognition. Sheās the saddest sheās ever been, and the only thing she cares about is making sure that from the outside it looks like sheās thriving.

Lestat knows Louis can not live without her and lestat has grown attached and when he is off and they are separated, I definitely think Lestat just goes for it if he knew he couldn't get her to a hospital on time!
I was just thinking about how Lestat would look at Bestie without a trace of humor behind his eyes and say āitās okay if you overdose bc Iāll turn you into a vampire before you can die āŗļøā right before they go out together.
Lestat means it, but itās also his way of basically saying āyes, you are my friendā. Bestie can tell heās trying to be nice, but also itās such an odd thing to say. Especially without context š like are we trying a hospital first orā¦
Emergency transformation with Lestat would be so good.
At the point and time of the first episode of season 3, it really wouldnāt be his goal to turn her. He has a lot going on, and Bestieās situation with Armand and Louis is so complicated.
Lestat genuinely likes having her around socially, though. Heās partying a lot and embracing the rockstar life style, and Bestieās going along with it, but also, she still manages to make him feel like an actual person.
She isnāt inebriated every second of every day, which sometimes makes her easier to talk to. She also calls him out sometimes in a way that reminds him of Louis. Lestat is happy with the way things are between them.
But if Bestie were to overdose, he wouldnāt think twice about turning her. Lestat isnāt as angsty about the dark gift or bestowing it as Louis or Armand, and even if he was, he isnāt going to let her die.
Also, we saw how overly drugged blood can affect vampires in season 3 episode 1. It might be a little dangerous, or at the very least, uncomfortable, to try to turn someone as theyāre actively overdosing. But Lestat would take the risk for her.
The angst after would be so good. Bestieās a little traumatized because she literally ODād and ādiedā (even if the technical cause of death was Lestat draining her).
Lestat would try to keep things upbeat for her after. Sheās okay. All this means is that she became a vampire sooner than expected. Now she can do fun vampire things with Lestat and Daniel.
Armand and Louis would both lose their minds once they find out. Theyāre both beside themselves with guilt that Bestie ādiedā without them. Theyāre also almost irrationally mad at Lestat (and maybe even Daniel too).
Lestat and Daniel were watching her slowly destroy herself, and then they let her overdose. And then Lestat turns her, as if he had any right or claim over her??
I think Lestat would feel some guilt over the overdose, but he still defends himself. Louis and Armand can be mad at him for being irresponsible, but at least he was there for her.
Lestat would also tell Louis and Armand that the only reason Bestie was depressed enough to take that many drugs is because of their callous abandonment of her, that sheās a victim of Louisās penchant for suffering and Armandās need to victimize himself.
Armand and Louis have no way of defending themselves so they resort to physical violence. Iām not sure if loumand would confront Lestat together or if theyād fight him at the same time, but theyāre both going to fight Lestat for letting Bestie ādieā and turning her at some point š
Also, it might be interesting from an angst standpoint if Lestat (and Daniel?) didnāt exhaust every option before turning Bestie.
Maybe thereās a brief conversation about taking her to a hospital thatās quickly dismissed. Thereās no guarantee that medical professionals could have saved her, and if they waited too long or had too many witnesses around, Lestat wouldnāt have been able to turn her.
Honestly, it does feel like an objectively difficult call to make. Taking Bestie to a hospital could have kept her human, but thereās also a good chance that she could have died in an ambulance or in an emergency room. Lestat wouldnāt be willing to take that chance.
However, if Louis or Armand find out that they didnāt even try actual doctors, theyād be twice as mad š

I gotta say, Daniel and Bestieās relationship is pretty unique in this. Another IWTV AU might have had Daniel as a wise father/mentor figure for the reader but no, heās her protective older brother (who is 47 years her senior lol). If anything, heād be a teen mom as her maker, just like youāve said in previous posts lol.
Itās very wholesome in an odd way. Daniel can forget about being a grumpy old man and have a friend who makes him feel young again. If he was her maker, heād give his all to make sure sheās taken care of. They could navigate being confused in the vampire world together. ā¤ļø

Yes :)) They are unique. This might just be a manifestation of the way I see Daniel, but heās so messy and fun. I feel like their personalities would just naturally lead to that dynamic.
It feels kind of fitting for him to just go along with everything. If Bestie wants to go out, heāll tag along. Itās similar to being an older sibling and deciding to still play games you might feel too old for because your younger sibling is still at that stage. Not exactly, because Daniel doesnāt need the excuse, but kind of.
Fatherhood also isnāt something that comes natural to Daniel. He admits to ruining his relationship with his two daughters. I know addiction probably played a role in that, and heād likely be a better father modernly, but I donāt see him as being inclined to step into that role.
However, thereās still a significant age gap between Daniel and Bestie, so he might feel obligated to be the more mature one in certain situations. Not unlike an older brother who isnāt going to get you in trouble but will tell you that youāre being stupid when you need to hear it.
I can imagine Daniel developing a bit of sense of responsibility when heās out partying with Bestie. He isnāt babying her, but he feels more of an obligation to make sure sheās okay and to maybe scare off any weirdos that seem interested in her than he would for someone else.
I also think there might be moments where Daniel has to lock in and be a bit more parental. Bestie isnāt perfect, she might want to do something dumb and reckless because sheās a little sad or maybe she doesnāt even realize how unsafe sheās being.
However, even in those moments, Daniel comes off as more of a teen mom scolding the child that thinks theyāre fully grown than fully fatherly. I think the main difference in vibe would be Daniel being more brutally honest than wise.
He also still might speak to her like theyāre equals when heās frustrated with her, which feels kind of struggling teen mom to me.
If Daniel turns Bestie, the teen mom thing gets worse. First off, because heās literally a baby vampire that decided to go off and make his own even baby-er vampire.
Heās still trying to figure out the realities of vampirism and now he has a fledgling to take care of. He has no advice on how to handle the long term effects of immortality. The best he can do is take her hunting.
I kind of love the thought of vampire teen mom Daniel. Everyone jokes about him being a nepo-fledgling, but maybe that played a role in his decision. Like he feels so strong and capable, he really doesnāt think having a fledgling would be that hard.
