I feel like Bestie would be a little embarrassed about the fact that she likes to be babied. In her mind, understandably, sheās an adult woman and she needs to be independent while accepting the appropriate amount of support from her friends.
On the other hand, itās just so comforting to her whenever she finishes a stressful art project and Louis is there to cuddle her. Itās also so relaxing when Armand holds her on his lap and give her blood.
Itād get worse when sheās a fledgling.š
Bestie knows that she loves being babied, especially by Armand and Louis, and she finds it so embarrassing she tries to never really think about it when mind readers are around š
Yes, sheās a grown woman. She also has no problem reminding the vampires in her life that sheās an adult when they over step. But she secretly does love Louis cuddling with her after she finishes a hard painting and Armand letting her sit on his lap as he feeds her his blood.
Louis and Armand have definitely encouraged this, too. She doesnāt like sleeping by herself as much as she used to because itās so much more comfortable to be tucked into bed with them.
Sheās gotten into the habit of Armand bringing her tea and snacks without being asked to. Sheās also used to Louis helping her get ready for bed when sheās really tired.
Bestie doesnāt want to infantilize herself, but they both take such good care of her :(
Once sheās a fledgling, sheās ten times worse. The fledgling/maker bond is so strong that she just needs to be around Armand constantly to feel secure. And Louis wants to take care of her during her transitional period.
After hunting, she definitely bats her eyelashes at Louis or Armand to get them to dispose of bodies for her when sheās tired lmao. Sheās so spoiled.
iām gonna be biased and say armand 100% would carry bestie over his shoulder or even lestat maybe (imo anyway) i can see him noticing bestie getting heated and doing a quick one two and theyāre out of there (iām not entirely sure what is ooc for lestat but i like to think he would)
i donāt even think this is biased š the thing with armand is that he doesnāt care if bestie thinks heās āmeanā or ānot being fairā. heās always ready to remind bestie that he can, in fact, make her listen to him.
lestatās more inclined to want to be perceived as the chill one. he trusts bestie to know her own limits most of the time. but heās also so invested in her safety, and he can recognize her self destructive behavior so well because it reminds him of his own, so he will pick her up and remove her from a situation š
this might suit lestatās bestie verse more but i can imagine once gabrielle comes back into lestatās life, bestie tries to ālimitā their relationship by constantly being in the way.
it isnāt a perfect system but she knows she wonāt be able to get lestat to unpack the fact that there is no parent/child sexual relationship without grooming, so she does what she can.
sheās also a little worried that if she speaks up, lestat wonāt feel comfortable sharing things with her anymore.
so when gabrielleās around, bestie says she only wants to sleepover if it can be an actual sleepover. which means lestat has to sleep in the same bed as her. sheās also suddenly the most affectionate person ever, and she needs lestat to be next to her every second heās not performing which means thereās no time for him to sleep with anyoneā¦oh no.
the only time she comes close to breaking is when lestat jokes about her having a crush on him šshe almost yells at him but then he tells gabrielle that heās busy so that they can watch a movie together so she bites her tongue š
also if this is main bestie verse bestie, imagine her explaining this to armand later š āyou donāt get it i had to sleep in the same bed as lestat!! i was being a good person.ā
which vampire do we think is the most likely to take advantage of vampire strength ā¢ļø and physically remove bestie from a situation they donāt want her in?? it doesnāt even necessarily need to be in a heated or sexual way.
bestie looks like sheās ready to fight someone in a bar or sheās trying to argue with one of the vampires, and they just throw her over the shoulder and take her to a safer area for her to crash out in. sheās so deeply offended every time.

I just finished the season 3 premiere and all I have to offer is this scenario in Detroit after Bestie decides to go visit Daniel for a little bit. (+ Daniel being the most overprotective older brother. He already failed as being a protector with his daughters and by god, he's not gonna mess it up again.)
Russ: Can I buy you a drink?
Bestie: Hm? Oh, no thank you.
Daniel, intervening: She's married, buddy. Scram.
Russ, walking off: š
Bestie: Thanks, Daniel. You didn't have to lie though.
Daniel: White lie. They didn't know your title. ;)
Bestie: Out of all the nicknames you could have picked, you just had to go with The Vampire's Bride.
Daniel: Hm, let's circle back to the part where I just saved you from being that asshole's dinner...Look kid, I love having you here, but you've got a plane to catch tonight.
Bestie: I know. You sure you don't want me to stay? I can have Louis make some calls and swap it to a morning flight.
Daniel, chuckling: I think you and I both know that's the one time he'd say no to you. I appreciate you coming out here to check on me but not every vampire is going be the type to book you a private flight. It's for your safety.
Bestie, playfully rolling her eyes and grabbing her purse: Wow, you've been a vampire for a grand two years and suddenly know all the tricks of the trade.
Daniel: Uh huh. Just have a safe flight, okay? I'm sure the gremlin will want to glue you to his lap when you get back to New York.
Bestie, walking off: No clue what you're talking about. ;)
Lestat, walking up to Daniel: Dan, who was that?
Daniel: Hm...A friend of Louis's. He sent her to keep me company for a few days.
Lestat: Ah..."company", you say?
Daniel: Jesus, not like that, you pervert. We met up after shooting ended each day. I didn't want her in the documentary. She's been through enough because I was an asshole and didn't give her a pseudonym for the book.
Lestat: So...that was The Vampire's Bride.
Daniel: Yeah, she is...and I'll be damned if I let you get your sweaty hands on her.
Everything about this is so cute!! Daniel being a protective older brother and locking in to scare off Russ, Louis sending Bestie to spend time with Daniel, and Lestat seeing Bestie for the first time when sheās about to leave.
Lestatās a little jealous when he sees Bestie because he knows how close she is to Louis, but also sheās so objectively pretty. Heād also be into the drama of potentially starting something up with someone whoās so important to Armand.
Daniel sees the curious glimmer in Lestatās eye as he watches her walk towards the barās entrance. Daniel is shutting that down immediately!
Danielās happy to party with Lestat as they work on the documentary, sure, but he is not going to mess around with Bestie. I feel like Daniel would be a little repulsed almost š Like get away from her.
At least with Armand and Louis, Daniel can tell that theyāre well intentioned. They care about her feelings and they let her live in that bubble of hers where everyoneās nice. The same cannot be said about Lestat. Heās going to use and discard her or pull her into his world and drown her.
Lestat rolls his eyes and tells Daniel that he is not interested in his little friend. And then he approaches her anyway.
In his defense, the gentlemanly thing to do is make sure she doesnāt have to wait for a taxi alone. Itās late and sheās been drinking. Of course Lestat wants to make sure Louisās āfriendā gets back to her hotel safely.
Daniel might actually call Armand to make sure this gets shut down itās that serious š
lestat looking at bestie after drinking highly intoxicated blood and having a mental down spiral on his tour bus: are you staying with me tonight, ma cherie?
bestie, who knows a secret depressive episode masked by partying when she sees one: ā¦yeah. i feel like i should be here.
and then bestie sees the way gabrielle looks at lestat and she tells him sheāll only sleepover if she can sleep in his bed with him š
without spoiling anything i just want to say that after watching season 3 episode one, bestie would be so busy gentle parenting and comforting lestat and lightheartedly bickering with daniel š
Is it bad that I wholeheartedly believe that children of darkness Armand would have a somnophilia kink š„ We've established that he and Bestie see each other when he sneaks into her room, and that he also enjoys watching her sleep. It isn't impossible to think that he'd wake her up by doing stuff to her and she'd go with it because she missed him
ā¦Wait. Thereās a vision hereā¦
I donāt know how far it would go while Bestieās asleep, but Armand would definitely make his way into her bedroom late at night and feel something when he sees that sheās already fallen asleep.
She looks so innocent and vulnerable, her lips slightly parted and her breathing perfectly even. Thereās no one there to look out for her, no one to protect her from any lurking vampires with dark intentionsā¦
He approaches her bedside quietly. At first, he only wants to brush a few stray strands of hair away from her face. But the longer he watches her, the more overwhelmed by sentiment he becomes.
Suddenly, a part of him is irrationally hurt that sheās sleeping so soundly without him. Armand has been suffering since the moment he first laid eyes on her, and here she is, sleeping without giving him a second thought.
He tries to force himself to resent her, but she just looks so endearing when sheās asleep :( She wouldnāt hurt him on purpose :(( And heās been so neglectful because of his responsibilities as coven leader :(
So Armand leans towards her and presses a barely there kiss against the side of her face. Sheās so warm and she smells faintly of a perfume he gave to her as a gift. He kisses her again, this time a little firmer. And then heās kissing her the same way he would if she was awake.
The fabric of her nightgown is thinner than the material she usually wears. Her warmth is a lot more overwhelming like this. He leaves a trail of kisses down her neck.
Bestie wakes up at some point. Sheās still drowsy, but she still reaches for him. She ends up lazily tugging on the strands of hair at the back of his head, which only encourages Armand.
Every once in awhile, they break apart to exchange their usual greetings, mumbled āi missed youās and āyou were gone too longās.
someone pointed out that bestie should make sure children of darkness armand takes a bath before they do anything bc he lives underground and it made me over aware of how unsanitary that is lowkey š
letās hope heās getting cleaned up before interacting with bestie. he wants her to like him. maybe heās sneaking into her apartment and bathing before speaking to her š

i dont know if this was the intention starting out, but i love how insane bestie kan be. like shes Not normal at all and id even say she can be quite self-centred (although i do think this is probably thanks to louis mostly) but shes also so so likable that you kinda forget it. it helps that shes surrounded by the most unstable ppl ever making her the the most normal by default pre-daniel but i love how seemlessly she fits in with the vampires around her. other ppl mightve truly made her the purest princess whos never done anything wrong but i love that this little community doesnt do that. this is sort of an appreciation for everyone ig, thank you for starting this and thank everyone else for continuing to expand bestie and her insanity <3
this is so cute of you :) yes, bestie absolutely has the capacity to be insane. sheās unhinged, everyone around her is just so supernaturally insane they make her seem normal by comparison.
for example, bestie is so weird about armand and louis but she keeps getting a pass because they will always be weirder š
she can also be a little self centered. no oneās perfect. i feel like iwtv as a show is so focused on assessing the little nuances that can make someone seem like a ābad personā at first glance that bestie verse wouldnāt be as fun if she was actually perfect.
some of her self centeredness is a bit of a defense mechanism (which is also something iwtv explores, different negative personality traits being ways of coping with trauma). she focuses on the way she sees herself because everything if she can look in the mirror and think everything is fine, then it is. louis has not helped her with that all š
i really like that bestie isnāt a perfect princess that has never done anything wrong, and i really appreciate you sharing this thought :)
also bestie has some morally questionable background story moments you guys donāt know about š she was a rich party girl for awhile
i know that bestie doesnāt need any more potential makers but louis would be even more over attached to bestie if he turned her. the fledgling/maker bond would make them insufferable.
their feelings for each other are so amplified. louis still feels some guilt over turning her, but he also thinks vampire bestie is the cutest thing to ever exist. he also thinks her attachment to him is adorable. thatās his baby <333
lestat and armand would be side eyeing each other like āhow did we let this happen to us?ā
imagine being so fine a 200+ year old vampire breaks his vow of celibacy for you. bestie is really that girl
bestie really is that much of a baddie <3
i wonder what the last straw was for armand, what moment made him accept that heād eventually be breaking his vows for her. maybe itās early on, the first time her hand brushes against his unintentionally and he feels the warmth of her skin for the first time.
maybe itās more sentimental than that, the first time she chooses to press a kiss to the corner of his mouth, the same display of affection heās watched her give lestat multiple times (only, does she linger longer than she does when she kisses the size of lestatās cheek? is he imagining things?)
or maybe the last straw is bestie asking him to stay in her room until she falls asleep. the revelation that she finds some comfort, some safety in his presence is so shocking he forgets that heās meant to remain emotionally aloof. maybe this is when he realizes that she can have any part of him she wants š

also as a side note i wonder if some of the intense armand stans would be obsessed with bestie as well. like to them sheās the āvampireās brideā, someone that armand has picked and made important. bestie wouldnāt get it š
god i love loubestie so much. like is louis gay? yes. is he sexually attracted to bestie? no, although he does know shes objectively attractive. would he be opposed to a little canoodling? a little tongue kissing? absolutely not.
i obviously am obsessed with bestie and armand (as all are) but theres just smth abt louis and bestie that speaks to me on a spiritual level. theyre legit soulmates. their affection isnt smth that can just be pushed into a single box. in many ways they *are* in love with eachother. their love for eachother is so intense that the line between romantic and platonic love is so blurred it might as well not be there. at this point i dont think there really even *is* that line for bestie and louis anymore. they would do anything for eachother and they will always be there for eachother. like i can see them doing romantic things for eachother like going on dates and stuff.
going back to āØintimacyāØ while i definitely dont think it would be a common occurrence theres smth to be said abt the emotional and vulnerability aspect of sex. its not always about the attraction, sometimes its about just being there for eachother. i can totally see a situation where bestie and louis are both kinda emotionally wrecked and go to eachother for comfort which ends up with them in bed together.
im rambling but ugh. i love these two so much <3
ugh. loubestie <33 yes, louis is gay. no, he isnāt attracted to bestie in that way. but that doesnāt mean he doesnāt like being physically affectionate with bestie. theyāre soo touchy when theyāre together. and they kiss a little, too.
from louisās perspective, i can see their affection being interesting from a sensation standpoint. like it doesnāt really feel sexual, but itās so objectively beyond what would normally be considered platonic. itās also not unpleasant.
bestieās warm and she smells nice, and sometimes when theyāre kissing, bestie will put her hand on the side of his face and drag her thumb against his jaw. he really likes that :) he also loves feeling close to her.
same for bestie. itās different then being with someone who is sexually attracted to her, but itās still good. itās like something thatās only for them.
emotionally, they really do love each other so much it makes the line between platonic and romantic connection so blurry it might as well not exist. are louis and bestie romantic or platonic? a secret third thing actually.
theyād definitely still do some more traditionally romantic things like going out on dates together. they get dressed up and go out to a fancy dinner and maybe a show or something.
anyway, speaking of intimacy, youāre so right about sex. itās not always about desire and attraction, it can also be about emotional connection and being there for someone. i can also imagine a scenario in which theyāre both going through it emotionally and end up getting a little too comfortable physically.
iām not sure what the emotional catalyst would be. maybe seeing each other physically injured or anything that makes them feel like they could lose each other one day?? thereās a small season 3 thing that i think could work but iām not going to mention it in case of spoilers.
either way, they want to comfort each other so badly, and the easiest way to do that when you donāt have the energy to speak is through physical affection. they get progressively touchier until they end up in bed together. itās like ultra skin to skin contact bonding time.
bestie might feel a little bad after because she knows sheās capable of being physically attracted to louis but he isnāt able to feel the same way about her. sheād never want to take advantage of him or make him feel like he has to do those kinds of things for them to be close.
louis assures her that he was as much a participant as she was, and that he didnāt feel like he had to do anything. he just wanted to be close to her. heās perfectly okay with what happened as long as she is too.
besides that, i donāt think there would be any weirdness surrounding it. theyād lie together for awhile afterwards, enjoying skin to skin contact and the awareness that theyāre both safe and as close to each other as possible. theyāre such weirdos (affectionate).
