The List should be a catalyst for political action so that medicine changes enough for women (&those otherwise capable of pregnancy) to give birth safely. Medical technology HAS the capacity to reduce or remove suffering and mortal risk to natal care. It's not inherent. Insisting that it's inherent is purely ideological / political. Resist that conclusion. Try to reframe how you think of it - it's scary and dangerous but it doesn't have to be. Be mad as fuck that it IS when we know it's unnecessary. Wealth & demographic should not determine the safety and comfort of a delivery.
