baby is very... unstable. orphaned at a young age and raised by the streets, he knows how to survive no matter what. he almost got involuntarily "drafted" into maelstrom but abby offered him a better purpose in life. who knows how much the cyber implants he has fucked up his head, but his head is indeed fucked up. he loves tinkering with his guns and making new highly dangerous toys to play with. don't you dare make comments about his youthful appearance

abby - former gang member / current ripperdoc ๐ฆพ
abby is the glue that holds this gang together. a former maelstrom member, he only got out after they tried to force him to do super immoral modifications [read: kidnapping teens off the street and modding them without informed consent. baby was one of them] and he realized he wanted to help people instead. definitely doesn't have a ripperdoc license, but hey, who's gonna report him after taking one look at his hulking, chromed out body? no one knows how he's able to remain cool, logical, and stable despite all the implants he has. no cyberpsychosis in store for this gentle giant!

the stealthiest netrunner the city has ever seen. he can infiltrate the most intricate security systems and disappear without a trace. the quickhacks and malware he's created are top notch. his tech capabilities help abby develop the best cybernetics with the lowest risk of cyberpsychosis. mystery's past is as his name implies - a mystery
romance - former doll/joytoy / current reconnaissance specialist ๐ช
ooh boy, romance is almost as fucked up as baby, but on a less chaotic and more methodical level. his patience is unparalleled and his passion for vengeance is... concerning. he has a list of names of the people who hurt him tattooed [courtesy of baby] on his left arm and crosses out a name after each one is dealt with. only one name left on the list! this poor man is ~traumatized~ and sadly still bears the physical reminders of this. abby pulled him out of a horrible situation and offered him a safe space to heal and feel like he belongs [+ his heart optics! ๐]. abby also gave romance his mantis blades to help him feel safe and empowered to defend himself for the first time in his life

jinu - former corpo / current leader of the saja boys gang ๐ซ
poor jinu was tortured by his former employers when he made it clear he wanted out. one does not simply leave the corpo life, so they took his right eye as payment. abby found jinu when he was at rock bottom - newly homeless, stripped of his identity and purpose, and rocking only one eye. abby's current project is trying to fix jinu's sight, but jinu's os rejects every optic implant he tries. enter mystery. between mystery's tech expertise and abby's mechanical skills, they're hopeful they can help jinu with his biggest insecurity and tactical disadvantage. in the meantime, romance frequently makes new eye patches for him so he can at least be ~stylish~

abby and baby were the first to meet. abby decided to escape his former gang and offered to take baby with him, away from maelstrom and their horrendous experiments. they had to rough it for a while until they were able to find a dirt cheap shithole apartment. they had never been happier
mystery actually met baby when they were kids but baby has bouts of memory loss and unfortunately this is one of those times. only mystery knows they knew each other and he cherishes this secret
romance was rescued by abby and baby from an abusive dollhouse. abby offered to help repair ro's broken cyberware but was unable to heal the scars, though romance was appreciative and smitten nonetheless. baby was not happy about the new addition, thinking ro was too soft and sweet for their dynamic. but once romance showed his true colors, baby was pleased to have another unhinged freak around [/affectionate]
mystery cyberstalked baby for years, wanting to reach out but not wanting to face potential rejection. i'm talkin' surveillance, tracking his movements around the city through security cam feeds, maybe possibly remotely activating software updates to stabilize baby's obviously developing behavioral disturbances
abby stumbled upon jinu, beaten up and tossed in a pile of trash, and offered to help with his eye situation. jinu was reluctant of course, but was eventually persuaded to let abby play ripperdoc. jinu was introduced to the others and was rightfully guarded and wary for a while before coming around to their quirky antics. jinu was in dire need of allies and was beyond surprised when their dynamics developed beyond that
after many failed attempts to successfully install an optic implant for jinu, abby put his feelers out for a super savvy netrunner to collab with. mystery responded to the call suspiciously fast [he definitely hadn't hacked their computer systems to listen to baby's voice, nope, absolutely not, wasn't him]. myst has a lot of personal experience with optic implants and is confident he'll be able to design one that will work with jinu's wonky os
mystery is absolutely not dragging his feet with the optic implant. he has zero fears that he'll be asked to leave the group once his purpose is fulfilled. and he definitely, for sure, does not lose sleep over worrying about never seeing baby - and now the others as well - ever again. nope, not him, thankyouverymuch-
