It is sad when someone you know becomes someone you knew.

We live in an age where we feel guilt whenever we have to cut someone off but the reality is that some relationships do need to die, some people do need to be unfollowed and defriended. We aren’t meant to be this tethered to the people in our past. The Internet mandates that we don’t burn bridges and keep everyone around like relics but those expectations are unrealistic and unhealthy. Simply put, we don’t need to know what everyone else is up to. We’re allowed to be choosy about who we surround ourselves with online and in real life, even if it might hurt people’s feelings.

Remember that time when you felt hopeless, got lost and didn’t know where to go? And here you are today! You survived.

Over time you begin to realise that some people just aren’t worth it anymore.

The person you’re meant to be with will never have to be chased, begged or given an ultimatum.

He forgot about you. Remember that.

The person who broke you can’t be the one to fix you. Remember that.

Don’t be afraid to lose what was never meant to be.

Maybe your first love is the one that sticks with you because it’s the only person who will ever receive all of you. After that, you learn better. But, most of all, no matter what, a piece of you forever remains left behind in the heart of the one you loved; a piece no future lover could ever get, no matter what. That piece holds innocence, the belief that love really can last forever. It holds friendship and pain, trial and error, that one kiss you’ll never forget, and that night under the stars you can never get back. It holds youth, and everything you thought love would be. Everything that was proven wrong.
