STAY STRONG.
first days always make me nervous because I never know what’s going to happen. it’ll be better when I get back into the routine.
and thank you ;u;
If it helps (and I'm reflagging this for the benefit of other studentey types) I'm a teacher and I still get 'back to school nerves'. I even have a series of traditional 'back to school' dreams (where kids don't do what they are told or I forget everything and so on). I think everyone gets it, it's not that I'm actually worried (I'm ok at my job and really enjoy it), it just happens.
A spa certificate is an excellent idea. The shower is actually a bridal shower rather than a baby shower but who would not want to go to a spa? That would be a welcome thing for either occasion, I think! Thanks for passing the idea along. :o)
Hmm, should I be concerned that my wife saw 'bridal shower' and read 'baby shower'? ;)Glad you like the idea, have fun.
I do love seeing reenactors who appreciate the look of a soldier on long campaign.
A good look, if only my kit was that worn...

The Southern Traveler at Contemporary Makers. This collection represents various items that a southern frontiersman might have carried with him as he traveled.
A beautiful collection, excellent stuff!
Tomahawk work
I had a bit of time recently so I made some mods to my hawk which originally came from Jas Townsend. I fitted a leather hand grip because it was a little too slippery and bound beneath the head with hemp rope to stop the head coming loose. I also made a new belt hanger so that I can wear it on my belt beneath a coat when re-enacting:
Today I finished a simple mask for the blade:
Summer projects
I've had a bit of time over the last few weeks to work on some projects two of which I finished off today. Firstly a new satchel; this is designed to fit a small laptop and a couple of books, enough stuff to bring to work without being too heavy. The bag is made from 3.5mm veg tanned leather, stitched by hand with waxed linen thread, dyed a nice walnut colour and finished with beeswax and neatsfoot oil:
I decided to fit a handle because one of the problems I've missed not having one on my other bag. The dye job ended up a little strange but I quite like the dappled effect.
The strap is quite thin and I fitted swivel clips to attach it to the bag. I might make a shoulder pad at some point in the next week or two depending on how comfortable it is.
there’s no part of this i don’t love
I ADORE these guys! We have a print of one (the photographer called him’troublemaker’) on our sitting room wall. They are amazing!
The pix is in perfect focus, well done monkey.
This misses an important point which is that the photographer accused Wikipedia of being communists...
common sense, really
A very sound point!

i found a small but nice gallery of John Adams HBO stills and it makes my day :) —here
7&19. Leather pieces I currently have
I don't know if the uneven edge skiving on the top pic is intentional (it does look nicely 'rustic') but I found that when skiving thin leather placing it on the edge of a work mat or another piece of scrap so as to effectively double it's thickness led to a more even finish.
