the next time you and katsuki meet, you do not meet the after-work, tank top-wearing, smart-mouthed stranger in the dog park instead, you meet big scary pro hero dynamight, all suited up and on patrol. its a regular friday night, you and your co-workers had gone out for after-work drinks, nothing special, just wanting a night out when a fight had broken out as you were leaving. it was between two men and none of your buisness, one of them screaming about a girl and the other denying it all (you were only half listening, too concerned with getting your friends in the uber) but it was only as the fight started to spill out of the little bubble of rage and homoerotic tension that you started to shout. Security was't doing anything, only standing and watch the two overgrown toddlers throw each other about so when you called them over and they refused to move did your frustration boil over.

"Not our job, darl. once theyre on the street, its the city's problem." one of the seccys shouts, crossing his arms over his chest.

"okay, so call the police? call the heroes, do something!" you yell back, pointing down towards the impromptu fight club.

the security guard shrugs and turns his head to to line waiting to get in. Before you can even turn back round to your friend, there is a flash of green, then the sound of heavy boots on concrete and a man standing between the two fighters. another pro pulls up, a flash of ice skidding over the curb as he joins the first in de-escelating the situation.

warmth radiates around you, the hairs on the back of your neck standing up as you feel the prescence of someone at your back.

"you called?" a smooth gruff voice grits out.

you know that voice.

turning on your heels, you come face to face with dog park asshole.

pro-hero dynamight stands before, all tall and professional, dressed in his winter gear, mask pushed up to act as headband. motherfucker.

“nope, anyone but you." you resign, throwing you hands up as you begin to walk away. "i'm not dealing with you again."

"again?" dynamight's brows furrow, lip curling back in that snarled sneer as he barks out his question. "the fuck does that mean?"

of course he doesn't remember you, why would he?

"you're an asshole, im not dealing with your shit again." you try to come across as indifferent, carelessly throwing the breadcrumbs at him in hopes he picks them up. "give me someone else."

dynamight watches you take a few steps back, his eyes narrowing as he assesses your features, raking his brain as he filters through all the people he's met within the last week.

oh. dog park lady.

"you started it!" he accuses, pointing at you with a gloved finger.

"me? you’re the one who had a go at me because i wouldn’t come into the park!” you’re stumbling back, glare etched into your brow.

the hero cackles, watching you bumble your way over to him like a petulant toddler. (he also watches just in case you lose your footing and he needs to catch you)

“that wasn’t me having a go. that was me pointing out the obvious.”

“sure felt like it. screaming at me from across the park.” you roll your eyes, arms crossing over your chest as you stand on even ground, glaring up at the man before you. he’s never had someone who isn’t a villain stare at him with such, disdain. it makes his blood run hot.

“you wanna have a go? let’s go right now” he bites out, delighting in the way your cheeks pink and eyes widen.

“what’s with you and wanting to fight me huh? that’s not very hero like” you’re quick to turn the conversation, not liking the way it blooms heat in your chest.

a smile creeps across his face as you poke his chest, perfectly manicured finger shoving him hard. (well as hard as you can)

“big pro hero dynamight wants to fight-“

“katsuki.” he interrupts

you blink. “huh.”

“the names katsuki.”

jo is walking beside you in the quiet night, hands shoved in his pockets, heart full to the brim. it’s late—past midnight now—and your place is in the complete opposite direction of his. but he doesn’t mention it. not when you offered to call a cab, not when you gently reminded him that his house was the other way. he just shook his head and smiled, shrugging off his jacket to wrap it around your shoulders when he saw you shiver.

now your hands are brushing every now and then as you walk side by side, your laughter still lingering in the air from something he said a few blocks ago.

In light of recent events:

I'm not totally sure what's happening bc there aren't any subs yet on ep.02, but they introduced the idea of a timeloop in ETERNALT with Kenshin as a sort of magical conduit, and now the boys are at a 'haunted' house where a murder has already happened (and is about to repeat itself) and Seungho is the only one aware of it because he ALREADY COMMITTED THE MURDER IN A DIFFERENT TIMELOOP!!!

A second chance encounter thanks to the timeloop brought them together in the first place and now it gets manipulated for evil purposes. It's thrilling and kitsch simultaneously.

In a sense, they're doomed to repeat the tragedy unless they make different choices to alter the ending.
