[ sofia carson, cisfemale, she/her + happy by julia michaels  ]  ââ  Hey, thatâs [ yaxiri vane ]? I read an article on them once ; theyâre [ twenty five ] years old of [ halfblood ] decent, a [ witch ] and a [ slytherin ] alumnus. I heard they had gone on to be a [ reporter for the daily prophet ]. Iâve heard they can be quite [ passionate + loyal ], but I donât know⌠they came off very [ guarded + harsh ] in that interview. It really is hard to know what to believe these days though, isnât it?
Yaxi is the only daughter of Romilda Vane. Being raised by a single mother who constantly had men in and out of her life made Yaxiri weary of relationships. She never understood when she was little why everyone had a mother and a father and she barely had a mother as Romilda was an important journalist, this meant she traveled often. It only seemed fit for her mother to be among the gossip and write about it. Yaxi could admit her mother had a talent with words. She knew where to press the button to make the public react. It was a talent that Yaxi wished she had today. The fact that her mother was in the midst of any and all news events made it so that they could never stay somewhere for too long and being a young child, she hated it, she hated having to travel so often. She hated that she never had any roots anywhere and she hated that she never could call somewhere her home because a stable home was all she ever really wanted.
Being homeschooled and taken care of by care-givers made it a little harder to adapt once she started attending Hogwarts. She was sorted into Slytherin which didnât surprise her mother as she had a way of getting whatever it was she wanted from her caregivers when she was younger. Yaxiri was in the top of her year with her marks and although many people know of her, she doesnât have many friends. Friendship and respect is something to be earnedâ both ways â and Yaxiri finds it hard to let down her walls but over the years she has begun to slowly heal herself and let go of the anger and the fear of letting someone in too close. Sometimes she tends to self sabotage without meaning to. She isnât as closed off as she used to be but sometimes she canât help but let her walls climb up again.Â
She doesnât know much about her father and her mother never really brings him up. It was fling and Romilda knew she could raise her daughter on her own or so she thought so she never wanted to reach out to him. All she knows about her father is he is of Colombian descent after her mother spent a couple of months in Colombia for a vacation. Yaxi doesnât hate her mother but she often finds herself trying not to judge her too harshly but itâs hard when thereâs lingering anger for never having a stable home. It also doesnât help the fact that Romilda often tends to live in the past, reminding Yaxiri how good she has it not having to deal with war although now a days that isnât a guaranteed thing anymore. She also often still speaks of the Chosen One, Harry Potter. Her mother used to speak of him so often that Yaxiri canât even stand his name and she doesnât even know the guy.
Loves animals. All animals. Cats especially. She has her own cat named, Ollie.
People often think someone broke her heart and thatâs the reason behind why she was so anti relationships or anti love but truthfully itâs because of everything sheâs seen her mother go through including abuse.
Sheâs definitely an introvert but around the right people, she becomes a different person.
The few people who she does consider friends, she is very loving and loyal to.
She is constantly exhausted and she knows itâs because of all the anger she holds however she doesnât quite know how to let it go nor how to forgive. Itâs something she is working on bettering.
She knows she can be over bearing and she knows she can be too much and she is trying very hard to change that because she knows people are not at fault for how her life turned out but again change is hard.
She became a reporter like her mother and is a talented one but she could never be as good as her in her eyes.
