at the end of season two, Knife confessed to Suitcase, and once she accepts, he says something along the lines of “i have something for you” or whatever. And he pulls out this big yellow bow (the one I always draw suitcase with). He then tied it around her handle and she keeps it on always.

as of episode 6, once realizing that she’ll have to leave the island, she unties the bow, and cuts off part of it (to make one big ribbon and one small ribbon if that makes sense), before saying goodbye to knife, she gives him the smaller part of it so he’ll always have something to remember her by, like how she has something to remember him by. After receiving the small ribbon, he tries to act nonchalant and holds onto until she leaves. After watching the boat sail away, he ties it around his own “neck” (the space between his blade and his handle that I usually draw a spiked choker on) and then the canon events continue.
