Thrown into prison for a crime she didn’t commit, all because of a plan to assassinate her (which failed)

Don’t worry; she got her revenge on those who were responsible for framing her but she still had to stay in prison to serve her false sentence... And soon she chose to not escape in order to, essentially, bring her father back to life

Like many of the series’s protagonists, Jolyne is in possession of a unique ability called a ‘Stand’; a manifestation of her power which only other Stand users can typically see. Hers is named ‘Stone Free’ and is capable of unraveling her body into versatile string

(For rp purposes, however, we can also say that if you’re finely attuned to the supernatural or to see hidden abilities, then you can see Stands, too!)

She’s pretty tough and won’t take anyone’s bs but at the same time, she is kind at heart and refuses to take anyone’s life if she can help it

She’s made a lot of friends within prison and one of them includes a sentient colony of plankton. No, she won’t elaborate

Blinking ever so slightly, Garry felt his smile growing more fondly at the way the woman seemed to fluster over her own outward concern; bringing the side of his hand up to rest against his mouth. He wondered if she was normally the type to keep things like that to herself, unable to hold them back now that she was here, away from those she cared about. .. at that thought, however, the man’s smile diminished ever so slightly. While it was nice to know someone had such close bonds.. it was also difficult to have them, while being away from those important people.

“I understand how you feel. I, too, left behind someone very important to me.. she’s quite young herself, though very strong and capable. While I’m glad it doesn’t seem like she’s here..” he trailed off, gaze travelling to the ground beneath his feet before he continued. “.. I often wonder if she’s truly alright where I left her.”

But as she carried on, Garry felt himself momentarily distracted from that thought; waving his hand absentmindedly.

“Ah, no, you don’t have to worry about anything like that; I’m quite new to this place, so I definitely don’t have any pressing engagements.. for the most part, I’ve just been trying to figure out what to do with each day that passes, really.”

“.. but I suppose that wasn’t your question, was it? Forgive my rambling.” As if trying to make the air between them a little lighter, he allowed himself a quiet chuckle. “In any case, it seems I only know your companion’s name, and not your own. Is there something I should call you, miss..?”

     ► Oh, so it seems he understands her sentiment well... Or at least somewhat, anyway. Though Jolyne doesn’t wish to divulge fully into her worries for her (seemingly) only alive and well ally, the stranger seems to at least understand the concern of leaving someone so young behind. It’s not as if she thinks of Emporio as incapable because he, quite frankly, is the direct opposite of that, but... He is still someone who is young and looks to those older than him for guidance.

     And it really creates a wound in her soul to know that she can’t be there as a guardian for him... Not here and certainly never again back home.

     ❝ Huh? Oh, no, you’re fine, ❞

     ❝ I’ve known people to talk way more than you and never shut the f-- hell up, even when they’re told to, ❞ she now adds, already looking annoyed at the mere memory. Soon enough though, she shakes her head and instead offers the man a more neutral look.

             ❝  indeed.  ❞ he raises a hand to his chin thoughtfully, ❝  i have heard this is a common theme in film; a character is often presumed dead until a pivotal moment in the narrative.  ❞

     ► ❝ Huh. Yeah, now that you mention it, this is something that seems to happen a lot, ❞

             ❝  … is that so?  ❞ he ponders the screen intently, ❝  a pity that i did not see that coming.  ❞

♡ “I don’t disagree, but is it really worth the risk of getting their blood on your pretty hands?”

“Just whack them over the head with the blunt end of an axe. Muuuuch less messy for you.”

     ► While she wants to say that it wouldn’t technically get on her hands because of her Stand, Jolyne refrains from doing so. Not only is she currently unable to bundle her string up together enough for Stone Free to manifest, but she also is aware that giving up such information so easily isn’t the best idea. Not right now, at least.

      ❝ Blunt end of an axe? Sheesh! That’s overkill, don’t you think? Or it could be an actual homicide if you’re not careful, ❞ she manages to say, clearly caught off guard by the comment.

He supposes it’s not unreasonable for her to have question of the the place. He’d had them himself, even though it hadn’t been his first time being taken into another universe entirely. Though really he does wonder about why she was specifically asking about jails… She’s not planning on getting trouble is she? It’s not something he can ask though, even if she presents herself open to questions.

“ No well, I don’t mind answering questions… “ he mumbles in response.

“ But I don’t think you’d know anything about this place that I don’t already know. I’ve been here since the summer. “

     ► ❝ Well, I didn’t mean about this place, ❞ Jolyne motions around her, giving the stranger a small frown. While it’s true she knows little about this city, the way this guy phrased it... Well, it certainly bristled the woman a little bit. Regardless, she simply offers a shrug before continuing on with her thought.

     ❝ I just meant like, in general. About me or something else maybe you don’t understand, ❞
