Your reverse isekai au intrigues me, from all this talk of villains and hero characters, what about side characters, background characters who serve as nothing but filler for worldbuilding, a foil to the main protagonists relentless fight against the odds. Instead of “fighting the good fight” they're helpless, stuck between the unrelenting tides and the tall standing mountain tops.
Compared to the others in the story, they are nothing, the limelight never leaves the star leaving the forgettable ones in the dark. There is a story somewhere in there but it's never brought to light.
A scapegoat, a tragedy, a minor casualty in someone else's pursuit for victory. But the only victory they will ever face is when they run oway.
honestly, i’ve kinda been thinking about this for a while. i like thinking about the different roles (y/n) could take and how that would influence the turtles’ behavior, so i think it’s about time we give side character (y/n) some time to shine.
i imagine this takes place in a more action packed series. there’s a big bad final guy, but there’s also a huge fight against some other big monster/villain every episode.
(y/n) could eve a poor citizen who constantly needs rescuing, someone who patches up the main characters when they’re hurt, or maybe just some friend that doesn’t appear in any serious scenes and is just there during the fun bits.
but there’s one consistency there; they give the story some time to stop and breathe.
after all that time of fighting and near-death experiences and info-dumping and exposition, when (y/n) is around, they give the story, the characters, and the audience a moment to pause and take everything in. they might not be a main character or super strong or deep, but they feel relatable, they feel like a person you could sit down and talk with. and by god do the turtles need that.

Imagine the three of them (sry, i have no idea how to write for heinous green) finding a random human that accidentally ended up in the hidden city and deciding to keep them as a sort of pet, because they were probably born and raised in the hidden city and have only heard of and maybe have seen pics of humans, seen yokai with cloaking brooches, etc. and they see humans as a sort of novelty. Loathsome Leonard argues against it, but majority (danny and mickey) rules and he warms up to the reader over time.
yooo it’s been forever since i’ve seen the episode with the mud dogs, so my memory’s kinda hazy-
but i love the idea of them just adopting a human and not knowing how to take care of it.
like- we’ve seen the weird kinda foods that are down in the hidden city. i know there’s normal food down there, but i don’t think the yokai really know the difference between the foods humans call normal and not normal, and i think the mud dogs would lean more towards the types of foods most humans wouldn’t put anywhere near their mouths.
what do you mean you don’t want the super creepy supreme?? c’mon, just try it once- so what if the food is moving? that’s a part of the charm!

ok here me out; yandere rottmnt reverse isekai au where (y/n) is the villain of the show/game/movie.
raph constantly tries to defend (y/n)’s actions like, yeah, he knows they do bad things, but that doesn’t mean they’re a bad person! i mean, yeah, they killed off half of the cast, but like… people can change! he’s just silently begging that the writers will give (y/n) a redemption arc, because he really doesn’t wanna see them locked away, wants them to be happy, wants them to change, and he’ll defend them ‘till the day he dies.
you know where this is going; mikey coming in with his fanfiction, slow burn enemies to lovers. (y/n) could be the most cruel malicious creature imaginable, mikey doesn’t care. he’ll give them a tragic backstory that totally justifies the multiple genocides they committed, also rewrites them so they’re not as heinous as they canonically are (ex.: if (y/n) slaughtered a whole village, that village was actually evil and was secretly plotting to rob and kill the main heroes all along), makes it seems like they’re just misunderstood and has his self insert oc be the only one willing to hear (y/n) out, littered with angst, fluff, bro practically writes a completely different story.
while raph and mikey see (y/n) and go “i can fix them” leo and donnie look at them and go “i can make them worse”.
leo loves how fun of a character (y/n) is, how they’re so unapologetically evil and relish in it, not sorry, doesn’t take any bs from anyone, they’re an absolute inspiration. (if they have a catchphrase, you can bet he’s gonna be using it no matter the context-) he loves it when (y/n) pulls off a stunt that annoys the fans. he loves it when the fans hate them but they can’t do anything about them. loves seeing them get pissed off and just going “lmao cry louder”
donnie’s the same when it comes to seeing (y/n) as an absolute inspiration. loves himself a crazy villain who relishes in their insanity and malice and is the biggest fanboy. makes inventions based on (y/n)’s deadly weapons (which have to be confiscated due to their deadly nature) but unlike leo, donnie doesn’t like it when people get annoyed with (y/n), going on rants about how they don’t understand the complexity of their motivations and personality, but of course someone so simple-minded wouldn’t be able to handle the sheer greatness of their character.
i promise i’ll answer asks soon, i just can get reverse isekai au out of my mind i have to make a few more posts about it.
thinking of reverse isekai au (y/n) somehow stumbling into the yan rottmnt world, but without the turtles knowing.
like, they were just fighting the big bad evil guy with their team, and then suddenly, they’re warped to this random world. my thoughts is that they died during the final battle, but don’t remember their death.
depending on the type of world they live in (medieval times, super high-tech, etc.) they kinda struggle maneuvering around new york, and end up stumbling on april.
the thing is, april doesn’t watch their show/play their game, so she doesn’t recognize them. she just sees this oddly dressed individual (possibly with weapons and magic, might not even be human depending on what you envision (y/n) to be) and is immediately suspicious, but like… they don’t seem that dangerous?
like, the first thing they do is walk up to her and be like, “hey, i have no idea where i am, what any of this technology is, how i got here, or how to get back! can you help me? :D”
they get to chatting, (y/n) describes their world, maybe they help april out with something with their otherworldly powers, and despite their odd meeting they quickly bond, and april offers to let them stay at her place for a while.
time passes, yandere april starts happening, kinda tries to hide (y/n)’s existance, but it’s the turtles so of course they’ll find out eventually. probably donnie suddenly bursting into her apartment to vent his frustrations about his favorite fictional character died.
and then he just… sees (y/n), like… right there. very much not dead. and this isn’t just a cosplay, no. they’ve got all the perfect proportions, the voice, the powers, the real weapons, and he goes feral man, like-
grabbing april by the shoulders, freaking out, feeling all sorts of emotions like- how did she do it??? how did she revive (y/n) and actually bring them to this world??? she’s amazing for doing it, but also why didn’t she tell him sooner??
and april’s all confused, cuz remember, she doesn’t know (y/n) is from a show/video game/movie and she’s just like what. do you mean, we just ran into each other at the park. what do you mean they died.
i write tfa now bc i said so. here’s some yandere scenarios of the autobots with a human (y/n).
optimus prime being all overprotective, being sweet towards them during the day but using intimidation when the sun sets to drive away people he thinks might be a bad influence on them. insists that either he or one of the other autobots escort them wherever they go, stating that their affiliation with them could put a target on their back.
bumblebee being clingy and insisting on going everywhere with them. easily jealous, and sure, sometimes it can be a bit silly, but it quickly escalates to him wanting them to put his wants as a priority above their studies, work, other loved ones, etc.. if left alone for too long, isn’t afraid of guilt-tripping to get them to spend time with him.
bulkhead being the usual gentle giant he is. he cherishes every second (y/n) spends with him, loves it when they introduce him to new hobbies, adores when they show interest in his. but that sweetness can quickly be replaced with bitterness the second someone tries to take their attention from him. he understands they have a life to live with other people, but with all his autobot work, the times he gets with them can be few and far in between, so please forgive him if he loses his temper and ends up breaking a lamppost or two.
ratchet learning human anatomy and how the human body works just so he can treat (y/n) whenever they need checkups. humans are fragile, so every time (y/n) brings up their doctors, no matter how skilled or experienced they might be, he always distrusts them. gets visibly annoyed and even offended if they reject his offer and insists on going to their usual doctor. but woo boy, if they ever do so much as catch a cold or god forbid break a bone, there’s no way he’s letting them out of his sight. time to show them how a real doctor treats a patient.
prowl is seemingly the most normal of the autobots. when the others are too overbearing, he offers to sneak them away to relax in a peaceful park. whenever they’re stressed, he gives them good advice on how to deal with their issues. he’s often the voice of reason and tell the others not to go too overboard as to not drive (y/n) away. he’s so kind and patient, and they always know how to cheer them up. he knows so much about (y/n)… almost too much… too bad, if they had just turned their head fast enough, they might have seen the silhouette of a motorcycle in the darkness.

So.. the platonic yandere future Leo meeting a preteen gn! reader that's about 14 yrs old that acts chaotic and almost acts like him when he was younger, and mostly can defeat a kraang 1 or 2, and Leo them as his child- as time goes on (I'm sorry I can't handle it) and Leo is pretty convinced that he should protect them almost everytime and sometimes not never leaving their side.. which sometimes suffocate or irritate gn! Reader, causing them to stay away from him or doing missions by themselves without any help just to prove they could protect themselves and for other reasons as well, causing Leo to be a bit scared of their own safety and became overprotective so on, and then Leo trying to manipulate or doing anything to keep gn!Reader safe or to never do something like that again.. I wonder what's your interpretation of how it would all go? 🧍🧍🧍
if there’s ever a time leo has appreciated his brothers and splinter for putting up with his younger self, it’s now.
he really does see his younger self in (y/n). which is both great and terrifying. great because he knows his younger self better than anyone, so he’ll most likely know how to deal with (y/n)’s shenanigans. but also terrifying because, well… he knows his younger self better than anyone and knows about all the terrifying situations (y/n) could get themselves into for the sake of the thrill.
now, he doesn’t care if (y/n) is strong enough, he doesn’t care if they can throw hands with the shredder himself, he’s not leaving them alone. and if he needs to, he’s not afraid to lock them up in a bunker to keep them safe.
now, this doesn’t come without its guilt. unlike (y/n), he got to experience a childhood free of the kraang. of course, it wasn’t without its problems and what little peace he had was cut short, but at least he had a bit of peace, and that interruption was through his actions. he acted recklessly, and now (y/n) is paying the price.
despite that, he views locking them up as necessary. they might yell and scream at him now, but one day, they’ll thank him for not letting them get themselves killed.
I had an idea that I NEED to see written (I'm being dramatic to emphasize my eagerness. No pressure to write this.) I was reading your "2012 vs. 2018 and why they don't like each other" post, and I just have to know. What happens if the reader walks in on each pair (separate for each turtle and their counterpart) arguing and starts telling them off. Sorta like-
Reader: *Defending one of them*
(Insert turtle here): Hah! See, (counterpart)? I knew they liked me better.
Reader: *turns to the one they were defending* Don't you even try that. Cuz what you don't realize is- *extremely long rant about both of them.*
Just to be clear, this does NOT have to be the exact way you do it. I just wanted to kinda show what I meant. I left it as vague as possible, but I'm not usually too great at that.
i feel like this scenario is the most likely to happen with the leos, since they’re the most confrontational with each other (that spot would have gone to the raphs, but half the time 2018 doesn’t engage in the arguments and just snatches up (y/n) before running off somewhere).
i’ve already elaborated on this more in the original post, but basically 2012 leo sees 2018 as too immature and 2018 leo sees 2012 leo as too uptight. 2012 leo’s the one who mostly goes on the long rants with 2018 just using his iconic one-liners every once in a while, so it’s most likely (y/n) will walk in on 2012 chewing 2018 out.
it’s likely they’ll be scolding 2012 for being too harsh on his counterpart with 2018 making faces at him over their shoulder, only for the smug grin to be wiped off his face when they turn around and start scolding him, too, for going out of his way to provoke 2012. and then they promise to be better, but with the way they’re glaring at each other they know they won’t actually stop. if anything, they might get worse cuz they’ll blame each other for getting in trouble with (y/n).
listen, i love all (y/n)s; good, evil, scared, oblivious, manipulative, but (y/n)s who are done with their yanderes’ antics hold a special place in my heart.

leo turns the villain’s plushie into his own personal punching bag. and stabbing bag. and slicing bag. bro destroys the thing and puts it back together so he can destroy it again. makes fun of his brothers for being so sad over a fictional character dying to cope with the fact he’s seconds away from straight up breaking down, too.
donnie is this 👌 close to tracking down where the storywriters live and threatening them and draining their bank accounts and ruining their lives, dude has to be locked up to keep him from killing anyone.
character death? what character death? (y/n) didn’t die! is what mikey says as he goes to (y/n)’s wiki page and re-edits it so his self insert revived them from the dead and they both live happily ever after. i wouldn’t be surprised if he taught himself how to animate just so he can animate that scene and keep up the delusion that his version is totally 100% canon.
and now i’m imagining them being isekaid into (y/n)’s world before they’re injured/killed, and they just. kidnap them. no hesitation, no questions asked. no risks. can’t lose them.
