since learning that our garage is currently home to some bumblebees it’s been fun just standing outside watching them come and go out of their little entrance hole at the bottom right of our garage door, where mice or something had chewed away some of the wood years earlier. Like one will come out and go off to work just as another one is coming back, over and over like clockwork. Trying again to draw my oc Nikolai and god I really have just given him Absolutely Fucked Up anatomy
like my dude is part bat and I wanted to give him fucked up bat legs, but bat hips are rotated in such a way that they’re either pointing out to the side or even backwards, like the total reverse of human legs. So he just at all times looks like someone swivelled his lower half the opposite way round from his front. Like his legs are on backwards and trying to draw that without it looking too broken is something I still need to figure out lmao
When he has to stand upright he has a stick for balance, but usually he will prefer walking on all fours but my god trying to draw what that would look like has so far been a nightmare. He looks like an eldritch creature. It’s that unsettling disconnect bc your brain knows human legs aren’t supposed to point upwards like that when you’re crawling on all fours. He looks like those horror images of someone bent over backwards and skittering around like some sort of large human-shaped crap, except his head and arms are right side up not upside down lmao.
