2020年末、「マルちゃん正麺」の公式アカウントが投稿したプロモーション漫画において、「夫と息子が昼食で使用した食器を、仕事帰りの妻が洗う場面」姿に「ジェンダーロールから脱却できてない!」などと批判が寄せられたことがありました。この際の東洋水産の対応は、いまだに企業のSNS対応の教科書的事例として語り継がれています。ポイントは3点です。 (1)投稿を安易に削除せず、次回作漫画の投稿を延期し、その間に批判内容を分析し対応を検討したこと (2)「漫画は自社の責任のもとで制作･公開したもので、作画担当者に責任はない」とイラストレーターを守ったこと (3)批判意見も真摯に受け止めつつ、批判者はごく一部であり、擁護意見が大半であったことから、漫画公開を再開したこと今般も同様、局所的な「非実在型炎上」かと思われますが、ぜひ東洋水産さんは理不尽なクレームに屈することなく毅然と対応頂き、新しい魅力的なキャラクターに活躍の場を数多く与えてあげてほしいです。そのうえで、「好きなものを好きと言える社会」を我々自身で維持していきたいですね。
