Ruined Pomni🤡 Sidelined Ragatha🧶 The leaching Jax🐰
It's time for me to fully explain why I think TADC heavily fell off with its writing and themes. And to do that, I will go over each episode and see what happens to our protagonist Pomni and her relationships with Ragatha and Jax specifically.
PILOT
The start of the show introduced us to the characters and the world of the Circus. During this time, Pomni was understandably confused and afraid.
One character who actively wanted to befriend her was Ragatha. As we see through their interactions, Ragatha comes off as "too positive" and wants to drag Pomni into the circus routine way too fast. After Pomni, Ragatha, and Jax get to Kaufmo's room, we find out that he is gone and get a vague understanding of what an abstraction means.
Jax dips, Ragatha gets beaten up by the abstracted Kaufmo and begs Pomni for help. At that moment, Pomni tries to touch her but her hand gets glitchy, so she decides to leave Ragatha behind and run. This conflict gets resolved pretty fast because after Kaufmo gets distracted, Pomni goes back to help Ragatha and apologizes for leaving her.
Pomni: Hey, look, I'm...I didn't mean to leave you behind like that. I, just...look at my hand. I, I didn't know what to do.
Ragatha: It—it's okay. What you need to do right now is to find Caine. He'll be able to fix me up and take care of Kaufmo.
The next questionable thing Pomni does is escape alone through the red door, while originally she was supposed to find Caine.
None of these actions by Pomni during this episode are too bad. She's new to the circus and prioritizes her survival.
But all of this sets up one of the main plotlines in the show. Pomni feels conflicted about the way she treats Ragatha while simultaneously not being too fond of the way Ragatha acts. Ragatha feels responsible for Pomni having a terrible experience in the circus. As we later find out, she is prone to toxic positivity and is afraid people will hate her if she isn't pleasing everyone all the time.
(Let's sidetrack a bit😁 You might've seen the fanbase saying that Pomni and Ragatha were never the two central characters of the story. Wow, really? Their relationship dynamic is one of the main ongoing plotlines in the show from the very start. Anyone who claims otherwise must be making shit up. In time, the show itself will fail this plotline, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves.)
Candy Carrier Chaos!
The positive development in the show's writing started here. PomRag (not a ship, just to shorten the names) gets more conflict in this episode. It's smaller but still noticeable when Ragatha goes along with the adventure and tries to hype Pomni up, to which the latter responds with annoyance.
Ragatha: Look, Pomni. We're already friends with the princess.
Pomni: I'm not a child. You don't have to hype me up…
The main thing with this episode is, of course, Gammigoo. After some truck-on-truck action, Pomni and Gammigoo fall through the map textures. Gammigoo finds out he and the other candy characters aren't real. He questions Pomni about why she would care about him if he isn't real. The NPCs are only made for entertainment, after all. Pomni doesn't actually have a good answer for this, lmao. She invites Gammigoo to stay with her in the circus and to be her new friend. (The ethics of NPC existence stop after this, by the way. No NPC will be given any grace at all. Even by Pomni...) As you all know, Caine blows Gammigoo up for leaving the candy world and entering the circus.
Another trauma for Pomni that gets interrupted because the others are going to make a funeral for Kaufmo.
Ragatha: Hey... you at least wanna join us for Kaufmo's funeral? We like to have a little funeral service to remember the people who abstract. This one just got pushed around a bit with your arrival and everything.
Kinger: It's the least we can do to honor their memory.
At the start of this episode, Pomni has a nightmare about being forgotten and left behind by everyone if she abstracts. After seeing how everyone (except Jax) puts in an effort to honor Kaufmo's memory, Pomni feels better and realizes that people there won't just forget her if she dies. This also ties back to Gammigoo and the short relationship Pomni built with him.
At this point in the story, Kaufmo's funeral is a great emotional scene that ties the themes of this episode together in a nice bow.
The Mystery Of Mildenhall Manor
This might be the best the show ever got. The theme of care and remembrance is carried into this episode too.
After ending up in HELL, Pomni and Kinger have their iconic talk. Kinger tells her that the worst thing someone can do is make others feel like they're not wanted or loved. Once again, this goes back to Pomni comforting Gammigoo and wanting to be his friend even though he was an NPC. We also find out the truth about Kinger's "craziness." He is fully lucid in the dark and comforts Pomni. They both leave together in a scene with beautiful cinematography and music.
This experience also pushes Pomni to thank Ragatha for being a supportive friend to her.
Jax: Heh, so, what was it like being stuck with the nutcase?
Pomni: It wasn't that bad, actually.
At the end, Jax taunts Pomni, thinking she had a terrible adventure with Kinger, but she disagrees.
(All of this will be soured later because Pomni apparently never reaches out to Kinger after this episode, LMAO. And don't worry, this episode will be ruined in many other ways too.)
Fast Food Masquerade
The Gangle episode that made many people think we would get an episode for every character later, which turned out to be wrong.
There are several key parts of this episode.
The major one is Pomni reaching out to Gangle after she burns out because of the job. The first time, Gangle explains that the reason she doesn't ask Ragatha for help is because she finds her to be insincere. The second time, Gangle (supposedly) almost abstracts, but Pomni lifts the responsibility of closing the store off her shoulders. This continues a positive line of Pomni using her experience with Gammigoo and Kinger to be a better person and care about others.
(One suspicious thing I noticed about Gangle and her arc is how it conveniently ignores Jax🙃 She doesn't just feel like shit because she's depressed. She is bullied by Jax all the time. Yet you are not supposed to focus on that. This is supposed to be about her self-esteem. Hmmm, I wonder why the show conveniently ignores Jax being a piece of shit who drives this and some other conflicts?)
Another key part is Ragatha getting high on the stupid juice and saying mean things about others. She mentions hating Jax and finding Gangle's fake facade annoying.
Ragatha: No offense, but... you're kind of annoying when you have your happy mask.
Ragatha: Wait, is that mean to say?
There is also a scene where the Gloink Queen talks about loving all of her children. The fanbase found Ragatha sighing dreamily at this to be romantic. But now that we know her backstory, it's clear this was most likely Ragatha admiring the Gloink Queen because her own mother sucked.
Jax: How you doin'?
Pomni: Everything's been- I'm doing... fine.
The third key moment is short. But it is our first non-hostile interaction between Jax and Pomni at the register. Jax is too tired to do his usual bullying thing, to the point where Pomni gets weirded out by how normal that interaction is.
Pomni: Hey, I-I... I-I just... w-want to wish you a pleasant day. Thanks for eating at Spudsy's.
Gummigoo: ...Have a good one, miss.
The last one is obviously the return of Gammigoo. He can't remember Pomni since he's an NPC, but this gives Pomni a kind of closure that wasn't there before since he died very abruptly.
Dang, we are doing pretty good so far! I wonder how Pomni will continue growing as a person and using her experiences with Gammigoo, Kinger, and Gangle to improve!
I was then shot 57 times.
The great Jax plague🥲
Let's sidetrack again. What you already know is that Jax is a terrible, insecure guy who harasses and assaults others for fun. He is the definition of a violent edgy male. He has no redeemable qualities, he doesn't regret his actions, he loves making others feel small and terrible. He always excuses himself and shifts blame onto others, making them feel responsible for things they didn't do.
This dude will be the reason for the show's great falloff in the next episodes. The consequences will also ruin the previous good episodes and what they stood for. PomRag will get cut for the sake of Jax because he's the special cookie. And Pomni will regress to a stupid degree.
Let's remember some important moments so far.
Pomni learned that nobody should be devalued from Kinger.
Pomni felt the need to be comforting and friendly to Gammigoo despite not knowing if he even is as real as she is.
Pomni also KNOWS and SEES that Jax assaults and harasses Ragatha and Gangle on a daily basis.
Hmmm I wonder what will happen next in the show?
Untitled
The most important part of this episode is during the bar scene and at the very end.
First of all, the bar scene is a shitty way to infodump the audience about the characters' backstories. Yeah, that's right, all of these people never asked each other about their human lives. Okayyyy...
Ragatha: ...Uh, hey, Pomni! Remember when Kaufmo smashed me against the walls and I got all jumbled up? Ah, all things considered, that was pretty funny, right?
Pomni: Nooo...? Not really.
Ragatha: Oh, yeah, yeah. No, sorry. That was... probably pretty traumatic for you.
Ragatha tries to win Pomni over by laughing at her own pain in the pilot. Pomni is weirded out by that (which is SUSPICIOUS considering what she is going to become in the future). The reason is that Pomni seems to be getting too close with our edgelord bunny lately. She thought this would charm the jester back the same way Jax charmed Pomni.
This is also one of the times where Pomni only gets offended by something when it concerns her. This, swearing Jax off during "Candy Carrier Chaos!" after he threw her out of the truck, her snapping at Jax in "They All Get Guns".
Jax: Ooh! Remember when you got high at McDonald's and told Gangle to kill herself? Now that was funny.
Ragatha: What?! I-I did not say that! I-I think. No. No, of course I didn't. I- And I am still so, so sorry about that, Gangle! I would never have said anything like that if I didn't get that stupid...sauce in my eye!
Jax uses this moment to make Ragatha feel miserable for the things she said about Gangle in "Fast Food Masquerade." Ragatha immediately apologizes, and Gangle seems to accept that. At the start "Fastfood Masquerade" Ragatha was teaching Gangle how to play softball properly. Later, this helps Gangle during the softball adventure. Seeing Ragatha get praise for her help and efforts is really nice, even if her own victory is achieved through the classic Caine adventure nonsense.
How is Pomni doing? Oh man, this is the beginning of Pomni getting infested by the Jax plague.
This moment during the picnic adventure might seem like me nitpicking, but this is the beginning of the end for her. Why would Pomni lie down near Jax and not be with Kinger, Gangle, Zooble, and Ragatha? Why not make her walk over to Jax later? The answer is that there is no reason. But from this point forward, the show will make sure Pomni is all about Jax. Ragatha points out that Jax has no friends there anymore, and Jax gets offended.
Next, at the end of the episode, we get the softball adventure, which leads to the Pomni we knew getting shot in the head by the writers.
First of all, Jax is admiring the swap Pomni in this scene. It might seem insignificant, but knowing what happens in the next episode... Pomni is paying attention to that, alright...
Ragatha expresses her distaste for Jax wanting Pomni to be like him.
Ragatha: Would you stop trying to force her to act like you?
Jax: Oh yeah, I should force her to be happy all the time instead, right.
Ragatha: Well, it's better than turning her into some insensitive jerk who deflects everything!
Pomni: I can think for myself, guys.
(This line specifically is funny as fuck considering how fast Pomni will get brainwashed by Jax in the next episode lmao)
Jax: Hey, I ain't forcing anything on ya.
Ragatha: And then you just act like you never do anything wrong and everybody loves you, when in reality, you just fk everything up for everyone else!
Pomni: Okay, let's, like, calm down a bit...
Ragatha: WHAT?! You're the one who said it's fine to be a jerk sometimes! UUUGH! I'm sorry, Pomni. That wasn't very cool of me.
Pomni: I-it's fine.
Jax: No apologies for me? This is so sad.
Ragatha: (sighs) I'm sorry, Jax. For...for bringing up that thing earlier.
Now let me make myself clear: this scene is not "complex." It doesn't have a two-sided argument. Ragatha is 100% correct about everything. She might be coming from her insecurities but she is right about Jax. Pomni acts like a hypocrite and asks Ragatha to calm down, even though she never has the same reaction to Jax being a piece of shit toward Ragatha or Gangle.
Typical bully logic. When Jax abuses others, it's funny, and we should just ignore him. When Ragatha bites back, she is immediately asked to calm down. Ragatha apologizes for her behavior to both Pomni and Jax, specifically for mentioning his deceased friends.
This is a scene where Jax initiates a conflict between two women that stains their relationship while getting out of it unscratched. He even gets an apology from Ragatha and a defense from Pomni.
The episode concludes in a baffling manner. Jax gets violent with the swap Jax NPC, and Pomni laughs at this. Ragatha is understandably weirded out by that.
Later, the show will pretend like the PomRag conflict is about what it was at the start of the show, even though things are completely different now. Pomni enjoys the company and the shitty behavior of the man who abuses Ragatha every day. The main RagPom conflict gets obscured for the sake of Pomni and Jax becoming a duo.
The final shot is Pomni and Jax walking away together while Ragatha stares at them and feels miserable.
They All Get Guns
We finally made it to the definitive ASS episode. The absolute DOODOO of the whole show. All the key moments? Ruined. The original PomRag plotline? Obscured in a hypocritical way. Pomni as a character? Unlikable. Even the supportive characters can't survive this episode unscratched.
I found the episode cringe at first, but now dude...
Genuinely, this is the funniest shit ever. Pomni finds out what happens when a woman gives the benefit of the doubt to an abusive edgelord male. What happens when she tries to be like him to get his attention.
The episode follows the gun adventure where the characters have to do a duo battle royale against each other.
Pomni wants to be on a team with Ragatha, but the ragdoll is understandably hesitant, considering Pomni hangs out with her abuser🙃 But don't worry, the show won't acknowledge this at all.
Pomni: Yeah, Zooble and I constantly say we like more chill and relaxing adventures.
Ragatha: Did you really not like my softball one?
Pomni: I'm not big into sports, sorry.
Pomni also expresses that she wasn't a huge fan of Ragatha's softball adventure from the previous episode. Of course, she wasn't. She was busy being buddies with Jax, lmao.
Ragatha finds an excuse to avoid teaming up with Pomni and does so with Kinger instead.
Pomni: You have a partner yet?
Jax: Well, look who it is. You sure you can handle me in all my glory?
Pomni: Eh, I've been through worse.
After the last episode, Pomni got Jaxed. The Jaxing of her brain. She tries to act smug and thinks she can keep that shitty guy in check (girl, tf are you on😭🙏).
After teaming up with Jax, she is all 😏 and confident in her "I can handle him" plan. For some reason? Oh, come on, we know why. Pomni gets mangled to fit Jax and his story in these last episodes.
Next, we get the worst scene in the whole show. Genuinely. Lowkenuinely...
Jax: Look, I know what it's like. One day, you're somebody in the real world doing important things. And then the next, you're just a weird little cartoon...jester. You want to hold onto that part of you that still thinks it's part of that world, but in the end, what does it get you? Ragatha tries to be all nice and friendly, but she gets torn up every other adventure.
(Of course she does, Jax. You make her get physically hurt every day. Of course, Pomni won't believe this nonsense. Right? ...)
Jax: Whether we like it or not, all we are now is a bunch of cartoon characters. So what's the point of pretending we're not?
Pomni: We're still people though, right?
Jax: I thought we were at first, but as time goes on, we just end up falling into our archetypes.
Jax: Become part of the machine.
Pomni: What's your archetype, then? The villain?
Jax: Listen, I add a key dynamic. I see how far I can push things, I screw with people, and I break the fourth wall. You wanna know why? It's 'cause it's funny! I do everything 'cause it's funny! 'Cause I'm the funny one!
Pomni: The 'funny one'?
Jax: We all just became archetypes. I at least have the self-awareness to choose who I am.
Jax explains his circus worldview. He reduces others to "tropes" and excuses his shitty behavior in different ways. If you have ever seen a guy like Jax, you must already know that those are the same excuses real terrible people use. It's all a joke to people like Jax. He thinks being self-aware about his shittiness softens the blow his actions and words have on others.
Now, let's remember everything our jester girl went through up to this point. Come on, Pomni won't just go along with what Jax is doing. She had a consistent arc through most of the show. She wouldn't just agree to this, considering she knows devaluing people is the worst thing you can do, and it's exactly what Jax does all the time. Jax stands for the complete opposite of what Pomni learned to value.
Pomni: Oh, what the heck. Today, I'm just gonna be evil. How's that?
Jax: Heh, go for it!
Pomni: Yeah. Yeah! Those other fools better watch their tails, because they're going to face the wrath of Pomni the Evil!!
Oh? Hahahaha🤡
Good one, TADC, you almost made me think you were a well-written show. Those first four episodes really tricked me...
Just look at how hard Pomni tries to get affirmation from Jax. She does whatever he needs to get attention from him. Are we still watching the Pomni we followed through the first several episodes? Who is this attention-seeking girl with no care for how her other friends feel?
Ragatha: Ah! I-I-I know exactly what you're doing with Pomni, and it'll never work!
Jax: ...Huh?
Ragatha: You know, getting close with Pomni... to corrupt her?
Ragatha clocks the situation really well. Except the reason this happens isn't just Jax. It's that Pomni is a bad person. Doing all of this makes Pomni a bad person. You can't hang out with someone who abuses the weak all the time (while they're supposed to be your "friends") and stay a neutral, positive person. The same goes for Kaufmo and Ribbit, by the way. If they seriously hung out with Jax in the past, that makes them terrible people, too. Pomni got completely changed for the sake of fitting Jax.
Everything Pomni was at the beginning of the story is ruined for the sake of a cringe PomJax team-up. The show doesn't acknowledge any of this. Pomni hanging out with Jax is supposed to be just her being friendly and nice.
Gangle: Uh, yeah. Do you... think... Jax... is gonna be mad that I didn't team up with him?
Zooble: I wouldn't worry about him right now. It's all just a game, in the end.
Gangle: It's Jax, though. He probably wants revenge. And he's gonna make it painful, and—
Zooble: Hey, you deserve better than thinking about him when he's not even here. You're a human. You're not his toy.
Gangle: It sometimes doesn't feel that way.
The great Jax plague spares no one. The next one on the hit list is Gangle. This scene is okay if you don't take into account everything I've mentioned before. But if you do, you will realize this is another scene where Jax and his involvement in someone's suffering is sidelined. "You deserve better than thinking about him." Zooble, this dude is interacting with Gangle every single day. He goes out of his way to keep her in a state of constant depression and insecurity. How can Gangle just stop thinking about him when she's in the abusive environment all the time?
The next ones that will bite the dust are Ragatha and Kinger.
Ragatha: I think... I might have failed Pomni. Just like I failed Jax. I try too hard to get on their good side, and then I just end up pushing them away. And then, they end up hating me...
Kinger: Well, I don't think anyone in here hates you.
Ragatha: Jax does! Gangle and Zooble don't ever talk to me, and... Pomni probably won't after today, either. She came to me wanting to be on my team. I said no. Why did I do that?
Kinger: Maybe you just needed a break. It sounds to me like you put a lot of pressure on yourself to be there for everyone, and when you're not, you beat yourself up for it. You said you failed Pomni. W-Why do you feel that way?
Ragatha: I don't know... I feel like every day, we're drifting further apart. Like she's seen through all my tricks and doesn't trust me anymore. Before I know it... she'll be a different person. One who doesn't even want me around.
Ragatha opens up about her insecurities to Kinger. She is afraid Pomni will leave her behind if she's not likable enough.
The worst part is that Ragatha blames herself for everything. She thinks she failed everyone, including Jax.
Yeah, that's right, while Pomni is having fun with her abuser, Ragatha is sitting there miserable, thinking this is all her fault, lmao.
To all of this, Kinger gives his first L advice in the show.
Kinger: ...The way I see it, relationships are two-sided, and sometimes, it doesn't make sense to do all the heavy lifting when the other isn't in the mood. We all go through and deal with things differently, and sometimes, you just need to let people do things their own way. As long as you're still there when they need you. Giving someone space should never be the same as giving up on them.
That would be great advice if the situation were about the original PomRag plotline. But now this doesn't fit at all. "Giving Pomni space" — what does this even mean? Pomni is being buddies with the guy who abuses Ragatha and Gangle daily.
Basically, we get two scenes that try to gaslight us into thinking Jax isn't the main issue in all of this.
Gangle can't just stop thinking about Jax and love herself when she's forced to interact with him every day. Ragatha can't just "give Pomni space" when Pomni enjoys Jax and his shitty antics.
Meanwhile, how is Pomni doing?🤡
Oh, how hilarious this whole thing is. Seeing Pomni actually think she might be the chosen one who will get through to Jax. She goes out of her way to do what he wants and act the way he acts. Not to use the corny online terms, but that is very pick-me of her. Pomni abandons everything she stood for just to be picked by a violent misogynistic loser. I'm pissing my pants, bro.
Pomni: I'm learning a lot about you today.
Jax: Heh, let's not forget we're here to kill people. We still need to figure out where nutso went before we can rest easy.
You can see how disturbed Jax gets because of the mere idea of Pomni finding things out about him. He immediately changes the topic.
Just look at Pomni doing her best to appeal to Jax after the adventure is over. She actually thinks... bro...
Jax: Delusional.
Pomni: W-Weren't we kind of bonding over being chaotic-evil together?
Jax: I was merely entertaining you because I thought it was funny. Now, are you gonna shoot me, or what?
Pomni: Did I... do something wrong?
I can't help but feel bad for Pomni, but what did she expect exactly?
Pomni: Have you ever thought that this might be what causes people to abstract in the first place?
Jax: Oh my GOD! Are you seriously gonna blame me for something that everybody else did too?! You didn't even know him! You don't even know what people are LIKE before they abstract! They are NOT pleasant to be around. Like AT ALL! You—
Pomni: I-I'm... I'm sorry.
Jax: I'm sure you are.
Once again, Jax led someone to blame themselves for something they had no authority over and apologize to him.
Pomni: ...What would you do if I abstracted tomorrow?
Jax: ...I'd move on.
Jax: And probably forget about you.
Funny ass scene, by the way. Seriously, why would Jax care about Pomni? Why does Pomni think the whole "um, what about me🥺" thing will work? Pomni you ain't Y/N lock in.
Pomni getting violent with Jax leads to him monologuing about his worldview again.
Jax: Oh, here we go. Here we go! Because I didn't fight back, that means I secretly care about you?! I'm just a misunderstood little chicken fetus in an egg that needs to be cracked open. Well, I am NOT!
Jax: You are my playthings, and I get joy out of making you SUFFER. I'm the one who causes pain for FUN! If I led you on, it was just to make this part hurt you more.
Jax: FUCK!
Jax: There's nothing more to me. So please, just stop looking.
But I have to ask, is he really wrong with this one? Everything he says is true. Looking too far into people like Jax won't result in anything. You can't fix him, and the reason he suffers is his own fault. Nothing will get fixed until Jax makes the first step himself.
The resolution to this part of the PomJax conflict will define whether this show is completely ass or not to me.
Pomni: Hey, I-I feel like, uh—
Ragatha: I-I have something I—
Ragatha: You can speak first.
Pomni: No, you go.
Pomni: Let's talk after the show.
Ragatha: Yeah, sounds good.
Oh, by the way, guys, remember the PomRag plotline? The one we were following since the first episode? Yeah, they resolve it offscreen😁
And of course, it gets twisted into a double-edged sword. Pomni being buddies with Ragatha's abuser isn't an issue at all. Both Pomni and Ragatha are presented as having equal faults in this.
Oh my god bruh.
Meanwhile, Jaxiepoo almost abstracts in the bathroom.
Beach Episode
Omg, guys, Jax had friends and they died. Omg, don't you care about those two characters we know nothing about?
The abstraction sequence is very nice. Calming and abstract...🥁
No, actually, it is a well-made scene. Jax is a good character, but the writing around him ruins everything. He's a great rep of how edgy insecure bullies act, especially when they get no consequences for it.
Jax would love to die right there and then but gets saved by Pomni knocking on his door.
Pomni: Wait. Don't you want to come with us? This could be our one chance to finally leave all this behind.
Jax: (sighs) Sure. Why not?
Now, there are no issues with Pomni not wanting to leave Jax behind in their plan. But considering what happened in the two previous episodes, every PomJax interaction leaves a bad taste in my mouth now.
In this episode specifically, Jax gets more emotional than he ever was before. He has nobody in the real world, so his two choices are either staying in the circus or dying.
Jax is looking at a winter orb with a sad expression, muffled speech can be heard. It's from the adventure he had with Ribbit and Kaufmo. They presumably had a fight.
Pomni: Hey. You all right?
Jax: -I'm great.
Another nice scene that feels ugh to me because of how much Pomni and her relationships get ruined. Her reaching out to Jax so many times while the resolution to the PomRag plotline gets mutilated and resolved offscreen fucking sucks.
Zooble: It always was real. Everything we felt. Everything we've done. Everything we are. It'll never leave us. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
Yup yup, Jax harassing and assaulting women was real too😁
Jax understands that he is fucked in the real world, which leads to his panic attack. He pushes the wrong button that would trap everyone in the circus with him forever if it were real.
Right after this, Jax understands what he did, but he refuses to engage with the vulnerable side of himself. So he tries to blame Caine for what he did. Jax pushes the button because he knows he has no authority to abuse people in the real world. It only works in the circus. So despite being rightfully skeptical of the idea of leaving the circus that day, the idea of this makes him spiral, which culminates in him purposely pushing the wrong button.
Jax: You dirty liar! You scumbag! You... you made me... you got in my head, you just... you just lie about everything, don't you?!
Caine: I, uh... Huh?
But he doesn't want to think about that, so he changes the topic to Caine "making him" experience all of this.
The epilogue: Everything got Jaxed✌️🐰
PomRag plotline. It begins as Pomni being grateful for Ragatha's support but also annoyed at the performativeness. Ragatha is afraid of people hating her if she isn't a people pleaser because of her bad experiences with her mother. Now it's Pomni hanging out with Ragatha's bully and seeing nothing wrong with it. The show doesn't see anything wrong with it either. The mutilated PomRag plotline gets a talk offscreen🤡
Pomni being a good supportive person is no more. She goes along with Jax and his bullshit because lmao. Oh, Gammigoo? Kinger? Gangle? Forget about them, buddy.
I questioned myself about what the point of Pomni's relationship with Gammigoo, her talk with Kinger, and her helping Gangle is.
Oh, I know now. This whole time, all of those were about Jax. Pomni's main objective in the show now is "solving" Jax. Gammigoo is there to teach Pomni that she should lock in when it comes to helping Jax. Kinger is there, so Pomni knows she shouldn't devalue Jax specifically. Oh, Ragatha? The show doesn't care, lmao. Gangle is there to make you think the issue is her self-esteem and depression, and not the fact that she gets abused every day by Jax.
The final judgment of the show hangs on how this story will end in the final two episodes. But considering what already happened to the writing because of the Jax plague, I don't have much faith. Even if Jax ends up being a terrible person and doesn't get saved because of his insecurities and behavior, it won't fix everything. We already have the PomRag relationship obscured, Gangle's arc removed from Jax's influence in a bad way, and the themes about valuing other people made pointless because of Pomni's behavior in the last episodes.
That's everything, thanks for reading🩵
