My main problem with Jax being trans is because she’s a walking negative stereotype towards trans women. She’s abusive towards women and other queer people in the show, not to mention she sexually harassed someone (Gangle) ON SCREEN yet she was completely forgiven by everyone else in the show despite not growing herself.

Is the bar that low that we’re taking negative stereotypes and outside confirmation as representation? It’s not my fault as a person who falls on the trans spectrum to want something better than an abuser representing me. I don’t want to explain my gender to someone else and have someone say “oh so you’re like Jax” fuck no, he’s not pleasant or enjoyable.

I don’t have a problem with trans people in shows being evil or irredeemable, and I know it might sound contradictory, but Jax has no redeeming qualities despite the show trying its best to, and she is never referred to as a she/her in the show or merch. A confirmation on BlueSky doesn’t mean anything if you don’t try to apply it. And yet another thing, it was confirmed through a post where it shows an alternate reality of if she was a better person. Whyyy does she have to be a better person to transition, why not do it in the fucking show??? There’s layers to this messed up shit, and it’s not good.

In the torture scene in 8, the shadows should have ripped his skin off and pounced on him, dressing him up in makeup or something feminine! The regular skin peeling is too vague and doesn’t clarify what he’s insecure about.

Not only that, Ragatha should have clarified as to why they stopped being friends, “He got all reserved, snappy even, and didn’t want to talk to me.”The Ribbit and Kaufmo flashbacks would have done better in previous episodes, like Ribbit’s could have been in the ep where Jax’s having a panic attack in front of the bathroom mirror, and Kaufmo’s could serve as a bigger warning to Pomni at the end of the pilot.
