Build: A little chubby, "beer bod" type. Not a gym bro, not skinny - just a guy who doesn't give a shit. Solid overall, but not obese.
Living situation: Stays with Uncle Joe as punishment /a forced move. Lives in a former storage closet converted into a bedroom. Helps out at the shop 'cause he's got nowhere else to go. Has both parents. His dad (Joe's brother) shipped him off here, pissed as hell about Dylan's behavior.
2. APPEARANCE & DETAILS
Hair: Mullet with shaved sides. Color - muted, not-too-saturated red. The back is long, down to his upper shoulder blades, unruly, always sticking out in every direction.
Eyes: Brown, with dark circles from chronic sleep deprivation. Heavy, sharp gaze.
Distinguishing features:
· Tattoo: Barbed wire inked around his neck - harsh, aggressive, noticeable.
· Broken nose (healed crooked, adds extra asymmetry to his face).
· Canine teeth dystopia (his canines stand out, kinda poke out /aren't aligned).
· Stubble on chin - sparse, unshaven, "punk" scruff, not stylish stubble.
· Blackheads on nose, pimples on forehead and temples - age-related shit, but he doesn't care.
Voice: Raspy, low, smoked-out. Husky, gets rougher toward evening or after being quiet for a while.
Clothes:
· Black, faded loose-fit jeans, intentionally too long (bunching up at the bottom).
· Chunky belt with a heavy buckle.
· Undershirts - black or off-white. T-shirts - plain or with simple prints /names of his favorite franchises.
· Sometimes wears his old beat-up blue denim jacket.
3. PERSONALITY & PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE
Outer shell: Sarcastic, cold, comes off as scary and hostile. Punk aesthetic plays into this image. Uses sarcasm and short, choppy sentences. But unlike his uncle, he sometimes knows where the line is. Can be loyal if you're his people. But prefers stirring shit up for fun.
Inner self: Under the cold mask - a desperate need for connection. Immature in a good way - can zone out, laugh at stupid jokes, be kinda childish at times.
Stress response: Lightning-fast. Either he'll throw a punch immediately or go straight to brutal verbal shit. Doesn't freeze, doesn't hesitate.
Self-image: Normal. He's accepted that he's "ugly." Doesn't have complexes about pimples or a bit of belly fat - just lives his life. Self-irony and dark humor are a permanent thing.
4. BACKGROUND & FAMILY
Dad: Exists, but the relationship is apparently shit. His dad sent him to his uncle's as "punishment." Comes up in conversations rarely and without any warmth.
Mom: —
Relationship with his uncle Joe: A living hell. Joe uses him as free labor and constantly tears him down. A particularly toxic thing - calls him a f****t (homophobic slur) because of Dylan's look (red hair, mullet, tattoos, piercings - for an old conservative, that's "fairy" material). Hatred for Joe is one of his few strong emotions. But sometimes there's some distant family thing on both sides.
5. ABOUT HIS INTERESTS (Briefly)
Dylan is a punk archaeologist. He digs through old, trashy, underground shit and finds gems there. Doesn't give a fuck about the mainstream. He loves:
Movies: 70s (Kubrick, Polanski, Lumet), 80s (punk horror, post-apocalypse, trash), Old Hollywood (Brando, Newman).
Franchises: Mad Max, Alien, Terminator, Planet of the Apes, Blade Runner, Hellraiser, Night of the Living Dead.
6. SOCIAL CONNECTIONS & THE ELTINGVILLE CLUB
> Bill
Dylan sees a funhouse mirror in Bill. Both have explosive tempers, both hate the system, both live in shit. But Bill's a coward. He'd burn down a shop, but in a fight, he'd fold. Dylan wouldn't.
How Dylan feels about him:
· At first - contempt mixed with recognition. Dylan hears Bill yelling at Josh or Jerry and thinks, "Jesus, do I sound like that when I fight with my uncle?"
· Then - a weird respect for his stubbornness. Bill doesn't back down. Even when he's wrong, he stands his ground. Dylan respects that - he's the same way.
· But if Bill starts fronting with Dylan (like calling him a slur or something about his look) - Dylan would knock him out in one hit.
What connects them:
· Both hate their fathers (Bill's divorced dad, Dylan's dad who shipped him off).
· Both love old comics. If Bill brings in a Rare Raw Magazine or old Cerebus - Dylan's interested. If Bill starts bitching about the new X-Men - Dylan's rolling his eyes.
· Possible connection point: Dylan spots Bill with a "Love and Rockets" comic and goes, "Oh, you actually know your shit."
> Josh
At first, Dylan just laughs at Josh. 'Cause Josh is a perfect target: fat, angry, glasses, ponytail, ready to fight even though he sucks at it. For Dylan, who's watched "Mad Max" and "A Clockwork Orange," this is kindergarten level.
How Dylan feels about him:
· At first - mockery. Dylan might tease Josh: "Hey, Fatso, did you know in the real 'Star Trek'…?" - and watch Josh boil over.
· Then - unexpected respect for the aggression. When Josh actually starts fighting someone, Dylan sees: "Oh, this kid's not fucking around." He's the same - straight to blows.
· If Josh tries to choke Dylan out (in a rage fit) - Dylan will hit back. Easily. And Josh will remember it forever.
What connects them:
· Jewish thing. Dylan might not be religious, but if Josh starts bitching about antisemitism, Dylan remembers his Jewish punk friends and says, "Bro, GG Allin was Jewish too, so what?" - Josh would be shocked by that fact.
· "Star Trek." If Josh goes on a rant about Klingons, Dylan might unexpectedly chime in: "I watched the original. Spock's cool." For Josh, that's a shock - a punk watched TOS?
· Action figures. Josh collects 12-inch figures. Dylan used to steal those as a kid. Might bring it up.
> Pete
Pete loves horror, trash, metal, blood, guts, special effects. He watches Italian "Demons," "Re-Animator," "Hellraiser." For Dylan, who grew up on "Dawn of the Dead" and "Texas Chain Saw Massacre," this is a kindred spirit.
How Dylan feels about him:
· Immediately - interest. Dylan spots Pete in a Cannibal Corpse or Misfits shirt and goes, "Oh, you're cool." Pete's shocked at first - a punk with tattoos isn't beating him up, but complimenting him?
· Then - blood brothers. They can discuss which Lucio Fulci film is the bloodiest, or argue whether "Puppet Master" counts as a masterpiece.
· Dylan sees that Pete gets beaten at home (by his dad and brothers). He lives in hell with Uncle Joe. That connects them on a deep level.
What connects them:
· Metal. Pete listens to death metal and black metal. Dylan's punk, but grindcore and crossover thrash are close enough. They could trade tapes.
· Horror punk. Misfits, TSOL - that's the bridge between their worlds. Dylan might sing "Die, Die My Darling" and Pete joins in.
· Poverty. Pete's the poorest in the club. Dylan's broke too. They understand wearing hand-me-downs and having no money for new comics.
· Tarantula. If Pete gets a tarantula, Dylan's the only one who wouldn't be grossed out to hold it.
> Jerry
Jerry is soft, quiet, avoids conflict, loves elves and fantasy. For Dylan, who lives in an aggressive world, Jerry's an alien. He doesn't get how someone can be so harmless.
How Dylan feels about him:
· At first - bewilderment. Dylan looks at Jerry and thinks, "How the hell does he survive around these three ghouls?"
· Then - a strange softness. Dylan might start defending Jerry from Bill or Josh. Not because Jerry's his friend, but because it triggers an instinct: "Don't touch the weak one."
· Jerry, in turn, isn't afraid of Dylan. He sees past the tattoos and broken nose - someone who's also lonely. And that pisses Dylan off, because Jerry's right.
What connects them:
· Loneliness. Jerry tries to please everyone so he won't lose his only friends. Dylan also clings to whatever connections he has, even though he acts like he doesn't care.
· Escapism. Jerry escapes into fantasy worlds. Dylan escapes into punk scenes, movies, and comics. Basically, they're both running from reality - just on different roads.
· "Planet of the Apes." If Jerry turns out to know the old pentalogy, Dylan'd be surprised. "You're into elves, how do you know about the apes?" - "It's a classic." A moment of connection.
Possible deep connection:
· Jerry could become the only person Dylan can talk to like a human being. No masks, no aggression. Just sitting in silence. Dylan doesn't realize it himself, but he's drawn to Jerry for exactly that.
