The mission was completed just as I predicted. Though, it all happened faster than I was expecting Because the woman was described to me so specifically, it wasn't all that hard to identify her. On top of that, I've always been skilled at stalking and tracking, no matter what the target was.

The only thing was, the fact that I had just taken someone's life. It was the first time that had ever happened. It wasn't an easy thing to come to terms with. It took me a solid 30 minutes to get out of the shocked mindset, and understand that this was my life now. I was about to become a member of the one and only Phantom Troupe.

The trip back started around 1 AM, because it took me the entire day before to complete the mission.

I returned back to the hideout at around 2:30 AM.

I carefully walked through the dark hallway of the hideout. I was trying to shake off the nervous feeling. I was grown, and able to handle these situations without anxiety.

"Y/n." I recognized the voice as the boss.

"Yes, it's me." I said, walking into the main room where everyone was flocking.

"I completed the mission you gave me. For confirmation-"

"I believe you," he interrupted.

"Good job."

I thanked him for his praise, and awkwardly looked around at the people around me, waiting for the next step.

"So boss, is she going to become one of us?" An enthusiastic voice asked. It belonged to a guy with blonde hair and a bowl cut. He looked unlike what I would expect a member of the Phantom Troupe to look like. But I wasn't judging.

"Yes, she will."

My heart dropped to my ass when I heard those words. It was actually happening. It wasn't scary, it was like all my dreams had come true. I never fantasized about joining the Phantom Troupe specifically, but I always wanted to have a purpose, and to be a part of something.

The boss explained the rules to me first, things such as there was no physical fighting between the troupe members, and that conflict should be avoided if at all possible. He went on about loyalty to the spider, and some more rules and information connecting to becoming a member.

After explaining all of the information, he mentioned the last piece to becoming a member, which was getting my spider tattoo.

"Where do you want it?" The boss asked.

"Behind my neck is fine."

He used a nen ability to give me the spider tattoo. The process didn't last too long, and only stung slightly. He held a mirror in front and behind my head to show me the tattoo, it was the spider symbol of the Phantom Troupe, with the number 9 in the middle. From what I heard from the boss, I was replacing a member that previously passed away named Pakunoda.

The boss looked at me and smiled. He was a pretty handsome guy. I had to keep my composure to avoid embarrassment.

"Since you requested, here are the introductions."

I looked at him as he spoke.

"My name is Chrollo, but you can call me boss."

He began going through the members based on where they were standing in the room.

"That's Machi," I looked at a girl who had pink hair and a pretty face. She smiled at me slightly. I returned the smile.

"That's Franklin," in between, Chrollo would say a few things about the members, if they didn't say it themselves.

"Shalnark."

"Hey there!" Shalnark said, looking up at me.

"Bonolenov,"

The man covered in bandages looked at me and said hello. I said it back, ignoring his odd appearance.

"Kortopi,"

Another odd looking one. He raised one of his tiny hands at me, and I returned the gesture.

"Kalluto," I looked at the girl (👀) and noticed her beautiful outfit. She didn't smile or say anything, so I just gave her a casual glance.

"You've already met Nobunaga,"

"Yep." Nobunaga agreed.

"Then we have Shizuku, who you've also met,"

Shizuku looked up and smiled, then quickly looked back down at the magazine she was reading.

"Phinks,"

I looked at the eyebrowless man from before.

"Hey." He simply said.

"And Feitan."

I looked at the small man, the one with the glaring problem. His eyebrows were not as furrowed as before, but he still had a weird look on his face. Though, I couldn't see his entire face due to his mask.

"Okay then," I said.

Chrollo explained that we were all going to be relaxing in the hideout for a while longer, then some things may come up.

I spent the rest of that night/morning getting to know the members.

I quickly ended up clicking with members such as Machi and Shalnark. Everyone was very welcoming.

The eyebrowless guy named Phinks was pretty chill about me joining, he didn't seem as irritated as before when I was first introduced.

While talking to Phinks, he mentioned something about my nen ability.

"How interesting."

Our conversation was interrupted, or rather joined in by Feitan, the short guy who wears a mask. He called my ability interesting. He didn't seem like he disliked me, he just seemed oddly skeptical. Though, I don't think he really was. Maybe it was just his natural demeanor, and this was his version of normal.

I continued to talk to them, getting to know their stories.

I definitely wasn't expecting them to open up to me the way they did, all my worries and anxiety about being considered an amateur had faded. They accepted me in more ways then I could have imagined.

I was ready to see what this new beginning held for me.

Note: I'm going to try to make the next parts longer. Also, this is taking place after Yorknew City. I'm not sure exactly when, but it's after Uvogin and Pakunoda passed away, and Kalluto joined. I'm almost positive I won't be writing the chimera ant battles in this but it's a possibility, since this is a fanfic it won't be 100% accurate to the storyline, the only thing I'm sticking to is characterization. speaking of that, for future info, I won't be using Feitan's broken English/poor grammar. As much as I favor the 1999 version of HxH, this is based off the 2011 version. I'm going to assume the people reading this are taller than Feitan, but I'll try not to make any size differences too present in the story. Also probably gonna make a page for the parts of this so it's easier I'm sick of adding this shit to the bottom.💔 Thanks.

Part 1

I'm in love with a spider | Part 2 🕷️ (Feitan x reader)

Shizuku and Nobunaga walked beside me, leading me to their hideout. It was dark and quiet outside. The only sound was our combined footsteps hitting the concrete.

Looking at the unbothered expressions on their faces as we traveled, I came to the realization that this was actually happening. I was seriously about to join the phantom troupe. I was well aware that they were killers, and I had never killed anyone before.

In my head, I believed I would be able to do so, it couldn't be that difficult. I've seen people get killed before. But deep down I had an intense fear that I would embarrass myself in front of The Spiders. Worst of all, I didn't like the idea of being 'the new girl'. Sure, I could steal and put up a pretty good fight, but killing? I wasn't entirely experienced in that field.

"Almost there." Nobunaga let out, a small smile appeared on his face.

We continued walking for another mile, then suddenly came upon a large stone building. It was surely abandoned.

"Here we are." Shizuku said.

We traveled a little closer, walking into a stone pathway. Once we reached a few feet before the entrance, the two spiders stopped.

I looked between them.

"What now?" I questioned. I was silently hoping they wouldn't whip around and attempt murder.

"Wait here, we'll call you out when it's time." Nobunaga ordered.

I nodded.

The two of them walked through the entrance and people began greeting them.

I quickly used Zetsu to mask my presence, that way I could listen in without drawing any attention. Though, knowing the phantom troupe that probably wouldn't do anything.

"Well! Look who's finally back. How did it go?"

I could hear a loud male voice speaking. I didn't even bother trying to sneak a peak. It was too much of a gamble.

"Nobunaga, Shizuku." I heard a soft male voice echo from afar.

"Boss! We have some news." Nobunaga spoke.

"We sure do. Unfortunately we couldn't find the girl--well the one you wanted us to. Sorry about that " Shizuku apologized.

"What do you mean, 'the one you wanted us to' " The soft voice--which at that point I was assuming was the boss--asked.

"Hey girl! Come on out. Don't be shy." Nobunaga's voice startled me. It pierced through my chest. I quickly took a deep breath and carefully walked out of the hall and through the entrance.

Dim light washed over me as I left the darkness of the hallway.

I could see many interesting faces. A mix of men and women. I quickly stopped staring and kept my eyes on Nobunaga.

"What's this?" The boss asked, giving me a chilling look, one that I could feel without returning the glare.

"Well, Shizuku thought this was the Clara woman, and instead it was this girl, her names Y/n. She put up a crazy fight against Shizuku. She can use nen, she has a crazy ability too. I really think we should recruit her boss!"

Seeing a Phantom Troupe member so impressed with me was quite an ego boost. Not my usual, but it was still nice.

"You're joking." A man said from across the room. He was standing tall with his arms crossed while looking at me with disapproval. He had blond hair. He was wearing a green tracksuit . The most noticeable thing about him was his lack of eyebrows.

Behind him sat a small guy wearing all black, with his mouth covered, a mask decorated with a skull. He was glaring at me with his eyebrows furrowed. It was very unsettling to look at him, so I quickly looked at the boss. Which didn't really help, but it was a softer look than the other people in the room.

"Well, this is quite interesting. Y/n, where are you from?" The boss asked.

"Meteor City" I answered.

After I said that, the energy in the room seemed to change.

"Oh yeah! I forgot to mention that! The girls from Meteor City!" Nobunaga exclaimed.

I then recalled during my research that the Phantom Troupe was originated from Meteor City.

So that's why. I thought.

"Very well, we will see how she adjusts. I'm going to put you on a mission, and if you complete it successfully, you may join." The boss said.

Seriously? It was that simple?

"Yes, I understand." I spoke.

I looked around the room, observing each of the members. I felt slightly uncomfortable not knowing any of these people.

"Excuse me," I let out, looking at the boss.

He raised his head in acknowledgment.

"I would like it if I could be introduced to the other members, if that's okay." I said.

"If you complete the mission, you may be introduced to them. If you aren't going to become a member, there is no reason for that." The boss said.

I cringed internally. I couldn't fucking believe I just embarrassed myself in front of all of them. I should have expected that he would say that.

"I understand," I said, smiling. "So, what is the mission you want me to complete?" I asked, ready to get it all over with.

"Yes, you need to finish the mission that the two that found you didn't complete. That will prove to me that you are worthy of joining the Spiders." The boss gave me my orders.

"Okay." I said.

"Nobunaga, Shizuku," The boss looked at them while speaking.

"Give her the information I gave you before. She will go alone off of that."

"Y/n, it is up to you to return here on your own." The boss said.

Shizuku then followed the bosses orders, giving me the information needed.

I quickly began the mission, determined to complete it, and join the Phantom Troupe.

Part 1

I'm in love with a spider | Part 1 🕷️ (Feitan x reader)

Becoming a member of the Phantom Troupe was never a part of my plan. The only reason I did so was because I was in search of purpose in life. For backstory, there is a group of people in Meteor City who teach many different things. Martial arts, Nen, unlocking your true power, and more. I was fortunate enough to join them at a very young age. However, once I became finished with any training I needed, I realized I didn't know what I was training for - other than survival. Therefore, I began searching for purpose, which was the only thing I yearned for - no matter what it was.

I vividly remember my first encounter with the troupe. I had already been interested in them since I found out they existed, years before.

I was out one day in a city, not insanely populated. I can't remember the exact name, but it was quite rich in many jewelry stores. I'm pretty sure that's what it was known for. I spent a lot of time travelling around searching for adventure, which is why I ended up there.

Stealing was something I had been doing all my life, it was a daily routine for me. I do not see why stealing is wrong. Finders keepers, right?

I was in one of the most expensive places in the area, probably the most busy one since the rest of the area was boring. It was a store full of top notch accessories.

Trying to act casual, I observed the area like an average person looking into buying an item. Occasionally, I would act indecisive about which item I would like to purchase, trying to blend in.

In the midst of my act, I came across a beautiful necklace with a (favourite color) pendant on it. The necklace was sitting on a shelf uncaged. It looked easy to steal, and I was ready to grab it and dip.

As I was checking if the coast was clear, from behind me, I felt a dangerous presence. It was sudden, and it was more exciting than anything I had ever felt. My heart began racing immediately.

I turned around only to see a large machine plummeting right for my head. I didn't have time to observe the details of the item, I just knew it was dangerous. Behind it, I could see what looked like a young girl dressed in black clothing.

I quickly moved out of the way, only for it to hit the glass shelf that was behind me before. The necklace I was eyeing came flying towards me from it's display. I grabbed it, and stuffed it in my pocket.

I was quicky distracted from my theft by seeing the machine come straight for me once again. Getting a closer look at it, I saw that it was a large mouth, with sharp teeth and a tongue dangling between them.

I was more confused than anything else, though I somehow managed to use my nen ability (your choice) to fight against the girl once I realized she was trying to attack me. I wasn't sure what her motive was, but I went along with it.

She had short black hair, big glasses, and a casual outfit with a beautiful necklace to accessorize. She didn't look any older than I was, if not younger. We continued to fight, though, it seemed more like playing around.

People around us began screaming at each other, though it was probably mostly at us. The area became a chaos chamber almost instantly.

Eventually, our battle was put to a pause when another out of place person showed up, and began attacking the people around us. I decided that whatever was happening between me and this girl, was pointless. We were both wasting our own time.

Once the people were on the ground, the person came over to us two. It was an older man. He was wearing an old fashioned outfit, and his hair was put up in what looked to me like a pineapple. He was definitely no joke.

"Oh my...looks like she can put up a fight."

The girl spoke.

I stopped and looked between the both of them.

"Shizuku, are you positive this is the right girl?"

The man looked at me, then back at the girl, who's name was apparently Shizuku.

"Why wouldn't she be?" She asked him in response, looking somewhat offended at his question.

"Well, the boss said this girl would be easy to take down. Since she's an average model in the city."

I was still confused, these people seemed to be on some type of job, to take someone out. They had a boss? And if I'm the target, they definitely got their mission all wrong. I'm not a city model, unless we are talking about meteor city.

"What makes you think this girl isn't a city model?" The Shizuku questioned.

"Oh come on! She almost took you down!"

The man seemed quite angry.

"that's not true-" the Shizuku was interrupted when I decided to speak.

"Hey! What's up with you two? Who are you?"

I looked at them both.

"That's none of your business." The man answered.

"Is your name Clarica Yae?" Shizuku asked.

"No, my name is Y/n L/n, and I'm not a city model or whatever the hell you guys are looking for. I'm from meteor city."

I wasn't comfortable after sharing all of that information, but these assholes needed to leave me alone.

"Meteor City?" The man echoed.

"Did you have some type of training?" Shizuku asked.

"Yes, I did. Under a group there, they teach nen, and fighting techniques."

"I see." The man muttered, putting his hand under his chin and looking at me.

"Are you a part of anything...any groups?"

"Nobunaga." Shizuku said.

"Shizuku! We have to show her to the boss. Why not! You saw what she did."

Shizuku sighed. "I suppose you could offer it. She was stealing before I attacked her. But first, the mission."

"Well, if that's not the girl, then she must have escaped. And the boss said we shouldn't chase. He said we should come back and try again next time if we cause to much trouble before the mission is complete."

Nobunaga went on about the orders of their boss.

"Alright." Shizuku agreed.

Nobunaga stepped closer to me.

"Hey, Y/n, how would you feel if I told you that you could join the Phantom Troupe."

My heart almost stopped.

That's who they were? And they wanted me to join just because I put up a good fight, and was stealing?

"You're kidding." I said, looking at Nobunaga.

"Nope. Come back to our hideout with us, we'll see if the boss is willing to let you join the spiders. You seem to know who we are."

Was this what I had been hoping for? A purpose?

I thought for a second longer.

"I guess I'll try it out."
