I have officially joined the CLAY HAIR REVOLUTION of TS3!!!
So its been about 8 months since I really opened my game because I've been avoiding cleaning and organizing my mods folder :))) So I decided to just scrap the whole thing and start over from scratch ha. As I was cc shopping I came across sooo many creators now converting clay hairs. Personally, I always liked them in ts4 but never thought they fit in with ts3. But now, seeing many more options for clay hairs I decided it was time to take the leap and join in on the fun hehe.
This is my first attempt at converting hairs in general so its definitely not perfect at all but I am happy with it for now but do lmk if there's any major issues or if yall have any advice!!! Hair download/info below!

"Twinbrook being one of the earlier towns to release it needed some updating to use more pack features. I went and updated the town with some new lots that made sense for the type of town Twinbrook is to make sure the unique feel and vibe of Twinbrook is kept in tact while updating it with some new things.
Changes Made
Fixed a Routing issue were sims would walk across the lake in the center of town to get to the beach lot. This was caused due to the lot not having any roads attached to the lot I fixed this by adding in some side walks.
Made changes to some road types in town so it made more sense visually and lore wise for Twinbrook as its meant to be not as well off as other towns. No more side walks all the way to the old lookout that is in the middle of no where.
Added in some other expansion pack lots that make sense for the location of Twinbrook.
Fixed a spawner being placed in a place where sims are not able to go.
Fixed Several un-linked roads.
Hopefully fixed some lag caused by pets from the pets expansion pack in the swamp areas trying to cross small bodies of water with taxi boats.
Added level skip markers to some lots with lots of floors to make it quicker to go down levels in these lots.
Added in mosquito spawners around the world were they would make sense.
Gave a makeover to some of the already existing community lots.
For a more in depth changelog refer to THIS Steam Page.
Hullo! I come bearing gifts in the form of not-crunchy music notes.
When @papermint-airplane put out a call to see if anyone knew of a replacement for the music notes that emanate from musical instruments in TS3, I immediately wanted to make one, since I've always hated how awful the texture looks, and I've never seen a replacement for them. Previews are below (make sure to click on the images for the full size versions, as Tumblr of course screws up the quality of them).
These are upscaled 5x from the vanilla version and partially hand-painted (i.e. I traced over the very pixelated vanilla notes at a higher res, but they are slightly different than the originals) and Compressorized. You can pop these in your Packages folder, and they should work fine with any other headline effect replacements (I tested with this one specifically and had no issue, despite S3Dash flagging it as a conflict), but if you're unsure, stick this file in your Overrides folder instead.

Sims 3 Package Reducer (S3PR) by OhRudi - Update (03/16/2026)
🌈👩💻 Overview 👨💻🌈
This software reduces the size of Package-Files drastically, very usefull if you have tons of CC
It removes thumbnails (THUM) and icons (ICON) resources from Package-Files and compresses or decompresses them
Thumbnails are safe to remove, the game regenerates them (see image explenation)
Icons are safe to remove, the game doesn't use them, nor does CC-Magic
Compressing reduces the Package-File size drastically, but it's no performance gain for your game, because your game has to decompresses them while playing
Decompressing expands the Package-File size by three times. It's a performance gain while playing, cause your game needs them decompressed anyway
I'd recommend compressing your individual CC files, but decompressing the merged CC files, such as the builds from CC-Magic
DO NOT compress mods (like NRaas and other Script-Mods), only compress CC
Don't use S3PR on Lots, this won't give you any benefit, use it on CC instead
You can use S3PR via console. Use .\S3PR.exe --help to get the list of possible arguments
Works only for Package-Files, not for Sims3Pack-Files
Works for Windows (did test for Windows 10 & 11) and Linux (see that comment) not for Mac

ModTheSims | Simblr | SimFileShare
🤔 How to install? 🔧
Just download and open the S3PR.exe file, you can move it anywhere, nothing else required
Works for Windows (did test for Windows 10 & 11) and Linux (see that comment), not for Mac
The warning message "Unknown Publisher" comes up, cause Microsoft wants me to pay, just so this popup won't appear
You can just tick the "Always ask before opening this file" and it won't appear anymore
(Optional) Technical Detail why this happens: You can sign software with a certificate by Microsoft, so windows knows it can be trusted. But this costs $70/year (minimum) and has no other effect than removing the warning.
If you're unsure if you can trust me, you're free to look at the source code on GitHub
I added explanations in the code and how to compile it yourself
(Optional) Technical Detail: It's just around 500 lines of code and parts of it I copied from other very successful Sims 3 Tools. If you're keen in coding, you'll find your way in the codebase pretty easily.
🤔 How do I use it? 🙆♀️
Important Notice: You don't have to use it repeatedly. The changes to the files are permanent. Once you finished, you only have to do it for new Package-Files.
1. Click "Browse", choose one or multiple folders that contain Package-Files
You can enable "Include Subfolders" and it will look at the subfolders as well
2. Check the boxes, choose what it should do with the Package-Files
"Remove Thumbnails" removes all Thumbnail (THUM) resources in the Package-Files
Thumbnails are safe to remove, the game regenerates them (see image explenation)
Some CC (mostly hair and clothes) has custom thumbnails, these will be removed, cause those images tend to be pretty big in file size
"Remove Icons" removes all Icons (THUM) resources in the Package-Files
Icons are safe to remove, the game doesn't use them, nor does CC-Magic
"Compress Files" uses the Sims 3 Recompressor (S3RC) Tool by J. M. Pescado to compress the Package-Files, it's a well known tool
DO NOT compress mods (like NRaas and other Script-Mods), only compress CC
Compressing reduces the Package-File size drastically and but it's no performance gain for your game, because your game has to decompresses them while playing
Compressing can take pretty long
"Decompress Files" uses the Sims 3 Recompressor (S3RC) Tool by J. M. Pescado to decompress the Package-Files, it's a well known tool
Decompressing expands the Package-File size by three times. It's a performance gain while playing, cause your game needs them decompressed anyway
I'd recommend compressing your individual CC files, but decompressing the merged CC files, such as the builds from CC-Magic
3. Reminder: Do you have a backup?
You'll be reminded to have backups
You can disable the warning by unchecking "Remind me to have backups"
4. Click "Edit"
Now you can make yourself a coffee, some tee or take a bath :D
Depending on the amount and size of the files, this can take a while (especially if you enabled compressing)
But trust me, it will be worth it
5. If you click "Stop"
It will not stop immediately, it will finish the file it currently edits and than stop
🙋♂️FAQ❓
What files I do use S3PR on?
Only CC, never mods (such as NRaas and other script mods). But there's one exception: The better ingredient thumbnails Mod, because removing the thumbnails from this file, would render it useless. This is actually the only exception I can think of right now. The rest is safe.
A simple rule of thumb if you’re not sure: Open the Package-File with S3PE (Sims 3 Package Explorer) and check if there are any thumbnails inside. If so, do you want to keep them? If so, don't select the “Remove Thumbnails” option for this particular CC. If you don't need these thumbnails, then you can safely remove them with S3PR.
Don't use S3PR on Lots, this won't give you any benefit, use it on CC instead.
Can I use it on merged files as well?
Yes, you can. There's no problem with that. Just keep in mind that large files may take a bit longer. Everything else is the same for merged and unmerged Package-Files.
Can I use this on my Sims3Pack-Files?
No, sorry. Only Package-Files. However, if you dearly need it for Sims3Pack-Files as well, leave a comment on the download page. I might include it in an update then.
Why should I compress my CC?
Compressing your CC means, that your CC takes up far less space. This is useful if you have limited space on your computer. The only problem is that the game has to decompress them while you play. I’d recommend compressing your individual CC files, but decompressing the merged CC files, such as the builds from CC-Magic.
Why should I decompress my CC?
Decompressing your CC means, that your CC takes up about three times more space. The positive about this: Your game doesn't have to decompress them while you play. This is only useful if you have an SSD-Drive (most computers have them nowadays). I’d recommend compressing your individual CC files, but decompressing the merged CC files, such as the builds from CC-Magic.
Does it harm my safe files in any way?
Editing your CC with this S3PR won’t affect the way your CC works in your safe files. Don't edit your safe files with S3PR. Use it only on your CC. Just as a side note: If you want to clean up safe files, use Regul Save-Cleaner.
What if a file or folder is not accessible for S3PR (no read or write access)?
In this case, S3PR will skip the inaccessible files and folders. You will then receive a summary of the files and folders that were skipped.
But I want to keep some Thumbnails?
Put those package files in a separate folder, select the folder in S3PR, then uncheck “Remove Thumbnails” before clicking “Edit”. Don't worry. If you uncheck “Remove Thumbnails” no thumbnails will be removed.
What happens if I run S3PR repeatedly on the same files?
Nothing. If you run it on the same files repeatedly, with the same settings, everything stays the same.
What’s the difference between this S3PR and the Sims 3 Recompressor (S3RC, by J. M. Pescado on MATY) or the Compressorizor-Tool (by JFade)
S3PR removes thumbnail and icon resources and compresses/decompresses your package files.
The Recompressor and Compressorizor-Tool does only compress your files. Just read the short overview for a clearer picture.
🤔 How do I use the Console Application? 🙆♀️
Important Notice: Everything is the same, but if you're into automation, you can use S3PR via the console.
Usage:
S3PR.exe [options] <paths to folders or files...>
Options:
-r, --search-recursive | Search directories recursively when looking for Package-Files.
-t, --remove-thumbnail | Remove thumbnail resources from Package-Files.
-i, --remove-icon | Remove icon resources from Package-Files.
-c, --compress-file | Compress Package-Files.
-d, --decompress-file | Decompress Package-Files.
-s, --silent | No Console Output.
-h, --help | Show this help message and exit.
Arguments:
<paths to folders or files...> | One or more files or folders to process.

Sooo here it is - my first publicly shared skinblend! I thought it will take more time to finish, but here we go. The process was tedious, as I edited seperately every age and gender as well as color. Yes, that *should* mean no more ugly, blocky textures on dark skinned sims! Their skin is a compeltely different face and body, not just the light version made darker. I'm happy with the result overall, but as always, it's not perfect. You should not worry about seams where the head, scalp and body meets. However, there can be some imperfections in bodies theirself. Hopefully nothing that could make your eyes bleed, but yeah, be aware. You can see the age stages of black female, white female, black male and white male. Of course there are other colors in between and they look good as well, I just wanted to show you the brightest and the darkest ones. You can also see how newborns look like:
This skin comes in few default versions and two non default versions. Here are the options:
default skin with 2k faces and 4k bodies
default skin with 2k faces and 2k bodies (this is the one that I use)
default skin with 1k faces and 2k bodies
default skin with 1k faces and 1k bodies
non default skin with 2k faces and 4k bodies
non default skin with 2k faces and 2k bodies
Here is how the non default skin looks like in the skintone panel:
DEFAULT 2K Faces 4K Bodies: SFS | PATREON
DEFUALT 2k Faces 2k Bodies: SFS | PATREON
DEFUALT 1k Faces 2k Bodies: SFS | PATREON
DEFAULT 1k Faces 1k Bodies: SFS | PATREON
NONDEFUALT 2k Faces 4k Bodies: SFS | PATREON
NONDEFUALT 2k Faces 2k Bodies: SFS | PATREON
@imamiii @kurasoberina @chinsims @annoyinglydarkblaze @servospawn for their wonderful skins; @i-like-teh-sims @kurasoberina @neiuro for their tones ramps that I used on the non default versions
Go crazy with this one. Use it as a base, share your skinblend with us or don't and keep it to yorself! Use parts of this skin, whatever. I just ask you not to reupload these files and please, don't claim these very skinblend as your own, as I really spent some time on it and probably worsened my eyesight too xD

Do you use the NRaas mods? Has the information on the NRaas website and forum ever been useful to you? If so, a moment of your time please!
I’d like to share the current situation with Simblr – which you can also read about directly from the site owner here:
https://www.nraas.net/community/topic15428
While it seemed like we were entering an era of old-internet revival and indie websites in the fight against the dead-internet, a significant road block has emerged. Prices have inflated drastically for server parts, memory, storage, and server-hosting itself. This puts all non-profit online communities in peril.
As a result, the site owner has opened a Patreon so that the community can help cover the costs of keeping us online.
Important clarification:
The NRaas mods are NEVER going to be paywalled.
The project will remain open-source and free for everyone. Donations are optional.
These mods are still in active development!
The site and mods have been maintained by Chain_Reaction since Twallan's retirement, providing countless updates and support. Lots of cool stuff over there if you haven't updated in a hot minute.
There is no pressure to donate if your situation does not allow for it. Thank you for the consideration!
Long post ahead with information on the situation and some incentives for reaching membership goals.
If you've had some trouble accessing the site over the past week or so:
The situation is directly caused by the greed and encroachment of something we’re all uncomfortably familiar with: AI companies and the companies investing in them (of simmer relevance, that includes EA and Krafton (InZoi)).
NRaas is not the first nor will it be the last to be affected. Website servers already suffer from bots trawling and scraping their content – including your content that you write and share just about anywhere. Now they’re being bought off entirely.
Archives and file-hosting are at high risk. Myrient is a recent example of an archive that went offline for this very reason.
It can feel a bit grim, but I want to assure you that the burden isn't yours to bear as an individual. As a community, it's actually quite easy to become hostile - and more important, unprofitable - to these invasive species as it were.
The past 26 years of modding and storytelling was OVERWHELMINGLY built upon free software, non-profit websites, and shared resources. A few unscrupulous paywallers and corporate greed isn't going to rewrite that history. Greed is the minority - but it does try to eat everything in its path.
That's all I ask - if you enjoy the fruits of The Sims community or enjoy being a part of it, make it just a little more inconvenient to swallow us.
Do not tolerate GenAI in our community spaces.
Do not support EA or Krafton. Let obscurity and irrelevancy devour them.
Do participate in the community wherever you think you'd find a little piece of purpose - make a blog for your stories, come chat with us in the Chatterbox forum at NRaas, make your first mod.
Lastly:
In a separate post, I'll be posting some CC incentives that will be released as milestones are reached. This content will not be paywalled - it will be posted for free as thanks to the community.
This is being offered on my own accord and is not the official reward for any particular tier. None of the proceeds are going to me!
Please look out for that over the weekend, I still need to take all of the preview screenshots which is perhaps the least exciting part of making CC.
And thank you, on behalf of the volunteers at NRaas.
