“I didn’t mean it as anythin’ bad! It’s cool that you fought he elites! Even cooler you won! I just wanted to know if you were champ or not!!” Considering he was under the impression the current champ was some little girl, it would have been ruder to think he was the reining leader.

     “Am. Was. Iris is better off with the title of ‘reigning champion’ than me.” Although he did beat her as well. He didn’t need to carry the burden of ‘champion.’ That kind of stuff, the fame and the, well, everything else was something he could do without. The people he wanted to notice didn’t, so it was all sorta pointless to him. 

I didn’t even see this (lol). But okay. This is totally my fault. 1 week old thing.

     “Yeah, ‘cause that’s the first thing that goes through everyone’s mind when they see someone almost exactly like them.”

“Woah, really?! Jeesh, my friend didn’t get nothing when she got logged into the hall of fame back home! Unless she just didn’t show me. That’s real cool! So, are you the reigning champ here!? Or just a hall of fame-er?”

     Was this guy for real? Come on, even a cape was a cooler award than a visor. “ ‘just a hall of famer?’ Why’s that a bad thing? Maybe I just didn’t want all the stuff that comes with it.” 

“Are visors that popular in Unova? You’re like, the third person I’ve seen with one today! Where’d you get it?”

     “Don’t ‘cha know? Only the best and awesomest trainers can wear them. They mus' 'ave beaten the league and some other leagues too. You can’t just get them.” 

Her eyes glance at him before falling to the cone in his hand. “I just want a small bite,” she hums and she lowers her head, rather than take the ice cream, and purses her lips to suck some of the dairy. “Mmm that’s good!! You’re a very good sharer.”

He watches her, and he’s not really sure if he should consider her words as a compliment or not.

“Or you could just give me some of yours~?”

“Here, I --I guess?”   

“Then shouldn’t I get a bit? Only seems fair,” she says with a soft pout.

“Wouldn’t it be better if you got your own? They haven’t stop selling castelia cones yet, right?”

“Pretty please with sugar on top?”

“ H--uh? But I already took a bite!”

Damnit. He wasn't crying over having a girl beat him up pretty good. It was a natural reaction. Just ... he was lucky she didn't think about hitting him any lower. The face is fine. He can live.
