I got to see Bernie in Somerville today! He was lending his support to council race candidates in Somerville and Cambridge for the Nov. 7th Elections. He said "The reason that I am here in Somerville, is that I believe real change always takes place from the bottom on up and not from the top on down. That's the history of change in America. Whether it is the Labor Movement, the Men and Women that are struggling to get respect on the job and negotiate contracts. It's the history of the Civil Rights Movement. It's the history of the Women's Movement. It's the history of the Gay Movement. It's the history of the Environmental Movement. Change only takes place when millions of people stand and they look around them and they say the status quo is not satisfactory. We need to move this country in a different direction.
