Frostbyte, a character who’s design has been around for near 15y+

She started out as a character who was inspired by a mixture of KOS-MOS (weapon spawning, cool robot) and a Dragoon. I didn’t do much with her in that state, she just ended up being one of those drawn twice and forgotten. But I didn’t want to forget her, so I reworked her design into something that would fit into the Xiro Myth setting. She became a half Ilumaran, found by professor Kennith. Rebuilt by him, and her DNA used to help make the ORIX and his attempt to revive the Ilumari.

Long time no post. Gonna test out where is the most active, trying here, since there has been a sudden uptick in activity here.

When creating critters and species for XM, I always try to figure where they are all connected.

So here we have the Suien, who are related to the Lyroc, Kyets, and even Sydrin. (haven’t drawn one of those in so long that I don’t have the old files anymore)

Suien, Lyroc, and Sydrin all have insect like fins, mostly retractable. This could be a part of the influence from the unicorn like beings, (whom I have not updated yet https://kilara.deviantart.com/art/From-beond-the-Veil-151793072 )

Another Inktober. 

Now that I have my own scanner again that is actually compatible with a system past XP, I can scan and post things again.

This one is of Ty-bot with a semi updated design. I love how this one turned out so much, a mixture of spilled bleach and some chalk markers giving a fun effect.

A redesign of a really old XM character, Hope.

She is one of Lord V’s elite, with the ability to siphon strength and powers from one person to another. While she has lived for 42 years, she is still young for Talean standards, and thus likes to pull childish pranks.

I changed her look to be less traditional Talean, very pale, one horn, etc.

She always keeps a flytt at her side, Im toying with the idea of the flitt being related, or even straight out being the half Ilumaran. Not sure, I still have to go and rework his background.

A rakekk swimming with a pod of Undrais. It’s also been a while since I last drew Undrais. Pushed their forms a little here, and got their teeth down.

The rakekk is a little big in this image, and stubby in the body, they are meant to be a bit more like a ferret or otter in the length of their form, but I got more distracted by the size of my cuecard. XD

I had initially planned to do an image of Paido being silly, but it turned out to be a more pretty pic, then into a more sombre pic. Kyets are like magpies and collect the shiny! 

Finally got my scanner working again last night after some pretty big hiccups, going to be posting a bunch of the Inktober pieces today, so be prepared for a bit of a flood, I will space them out a little to spare you from the messiness. XD

First day of Inktober!

I am super hyped about Heart of Thorns! Been prepping for the expansion, getting mawdrey, finishing the story, making sure I've got the tomes to lvl and gear for the new content.

I've drawn chibis of the current active members of my guild, and I am trying to recruit people to get everything built for the Guild so whatever bonus that comes from having everything built, and to take a guildhall when that comes.

So here is my offer. I am offering chibi sketches like these for the active members of the guild. (likely top 5, and won't be done till HoT comes out)

Legend of Dragoon!

Just like I had done a set for the FF classes mixed with the XM crew, this is the Dragoon types. I had initially planned to do the same as the FF classes; doing chibis 1 each of the characters and classes, but I discovered it was less of an option because how detailed the dragoon armor is.

Instead I decided to draw 1 image more in the style of the promo images from the game.

All of the class-cosplay for the XM characters. I said I wanted to put all 3 of these sets into 1 post, then promptly forgot about it. Sorry

I also did a mock-up of a FF like logo for them, not the best but works decently for the feeling I want.

OMG old art incoming

While cleaning I found a really old image I had drawn, likely one of the first. It was from a time before I joined DA, a time before I had a computer and access to photoshop, a time when I used metallic gel-pens to colour everything, and a time when I drew on anything and everything.

The older image was quickly drawn on the back of a receipt, so with the redo I decided to draw it on the back of a random piece of paper (since receipts now all have text on the back as well) I also don’t have metallic pens anymore, so I used some dollarstore coloured lead.

Often I see people out-do their old doodles with a full high quality render, but I felt it would be best to try to match the situation. I might decide to do a full render later on of this, heck, now I want to. But for now, this is this. XD
