from bones to dust

This is really difficult for me to share because it's so hard for me to ask for help, but I absolutely need it. My name is Martha Rodriguez and I'm a graduating senior at Pace University with a major in Applied Psychology with a minor in Women's and Gender's Studies. I am a first generation Latina and would be the second person to graduate from a university in my family. The problem is, I need to take courses over the summer to finish my degree. My family does not have the financial stability to pay for my courses but I really need to take them or else my Bachelor's degree won't be complete.

My goal is to continue onto graduate school to get my PhD in Psychology so that I can become a counselor. As someone who lives with anxiety and depression, I know that it is necessary to have qualified counselors to help people and I would love to be one of those counselors.

The reason why I have to take these courses over the summer is because my anxiety and depression hit me really hard this past semester and I was in a really bad state of mind that stopped me from completing them. Even though this happened, I don't want that to stop me from achieving what I want to achieve because my family and I have worked hard so that I could continue and finish my schooling.

I am already $45,000 in debt and will continue to take on loans as I continue my education. It would mean the world to me for people to help me so that I can take these two courses because I really cannot do it without help.

i obviously don't give my mom enough credit because she is SUCH a lovely human being

i'm graduating but taking summer classes back home. this is okay.
