I keep accidentally hitting 'export all geometry' instead of 'export selected geometry' in Reclaimer, and I continue to regret it dearly. I already sorted things apart into folders, thinking each would have a specific set of assets! Woe betide me.

Why does the Halo 3 Elite model possess so many trans muffin torsos?
I do not know. It's a question for the ages.
I really enjoy all the trivial little oddities from development that each one of these models comes with.
Well, that's not quite right
I cause a lot of accidents fucking around with the collection in Blender.
Mega super bonus points go to whoever can identify which Elite model and what part of that Elite model this texture comes from.
Huh. I think I just found out how to possibly make every Elite model albinistic. Functionally useless, but neat.
HEMR update
The writing of Halo 3 Elite Model Review will commence today. I've been on a break since HEMR was transferred to this blog and the Halo 2 entry was brought up to par, but now I'm ready to get back into it.
Do look forward to discovering the anatomical changes that occurred between Halo 2 and 3. They have some neat details I'm looking forward to show.

HEMR update
The official version of the Halo 2 Elite model review is imminent! I intend to post it sometime tomorrow, much further proofread, edited, and slightly expanded. In the meantime, I may share a marginally cursed old Blender project of mine I rediscovered. Though 'project' may be giving it too much credit.
About that 'marginally cursed Blender project'...
This is a Halo Infinite Elite. Or at least it used to be, before I used my godly powers to deform and stretch it into the shape of a Halo 4 Elite. No particular reason, except that I wanted to see how it would look. Currently obstructed by an obstacle in the upper mandibles, since the 4/5 design has them attach up and behind the eyes. I don't know if I'll be able to mimic this feature on the Infinite elite in a way that wouldn't inherently require retopologizing, since the mesh is already pretty stretched out.
I'm a total amateur, so this really is just for fun. And I honestly think it looks pretty cool already; personally I don't hate the 4/5 design nearly as much as other people. But god damn is it thick.
I may or may not have also done the inverse of this, deforming a Halo 5 Elite model to look like Infinite's. It's fine, but doesn't hit the same.
Bonus jumpscare I got when hiding my reference mesh. I don't remember why there's a duplicate set of eyes and gums. Looks pretty sick though.
Ever wanted to see an albino sangheili?
I got this result when I was messing around in the shader editor and removed a gamma node in the chain connecting Arby’s textures. Totally unintentional, but it created an oddly reasonable visage of an albinistic Elite.
I haven't looked into it deeply yet, but there is undeniably a lot of customization potential with these models in Blender. Between sculpting and the shader editor, I'm pretty sure it's the perfect tool for editing the faces of in-game models and even recoloring them to portray custom characters.
I think so, anyway. The Halo 4/5 models come with color-change tools already in their shader nodes, but all my other models would require modification to add for such capabilities. The possibility is there, though.
Here are some side-by-side comparisons of the stark color differences between the raw assets vs ones imported using the Reclaimer tool for Halo games. I'm too much of an amateur to speculate exactly why this is (and I also don't know by what means the raw assets were even exported), but their shader nodes are very different.
I originally had some notes on the way the raw model appeared, like the detail of how the foot looked much softer and paler on the posterior non-walking surface, and speculating that the details on the back of Arby's neck could be interpreted as individual markings.
But clearly, the model imported with more recent tools smooths out these details. I honestly still prefer the texture of the old foot, though.
Halo 2 - An in-depth review of each Sangheili/Elite body model from the Halo games
This model has some surprises in store, alright.
Unfortunately, Rtas’ model is merely a close copy of the basic NPC Elite model with some edits, but you can’t expect much more from a game of the time. Two details you might notice right away: his eyes aren’t black like other NPC Elites, but they’re also not green like they should be.

This has been shortly delayed, but not by long! I was unable to post it today due to being busy, but both the main entry and the necessary reblog have been completed. I resolve to publish both tomorrow. For reals this time.

While hunting production material for a future entry of Halo Elite Model Review, I found this shot of Arby.
I wish I had answers as to why he's pulling a movie monster creeping pose. It's so absurd that it's grand.
