evamaldoniaâ:
Eva snorted and rolled her eyes when Eli returned to her table, bumping into her once more. âGoodness I have missed your demeanor Eli. Thereâs no pretty, interesting people here that Iâve come to find. Not yet, anyways.â she moaned, sipping her tea with a flourish. Eva was not going to volunteer the fact that she had been working her ass off and therefore had no real time to socialize. Sheâd forgotten how good it felt to talk to someone who wasnât someone she was working with. âOh really, your folks are around here? I need to stop by. Your momma is simply one of my absolute most favorite people ever and please tell her I said that.â she chirped, memories of her conversations with his dear mother coming to mind. She is the only woman that Tiana had ever met that knew her way around a gooseberry pie, and certainly among the few princesses in her own motherâs league that knew how to cook, so far as she knew. Sheâd always respected her and her struggle, and was happy to see that sheâd made such a great life for yourself. âYouâre only going to be here for a week though? That doesnât give me enough time to find a place for us to have a romantic getaway. This is why I need advance notice, Elijah dearest.â she teased gently, nudging his shin under the table with her foot. âIn all seriousness, I am very glad to see you. Please tell me all about what youâve been up to. I want all the sordid details.â
Eli gazed at her, he had missed her witty and charming ways. âI donât need to tell her that, she already knows. Iâm almost sure sheâd rather you than her own son,â he chucked, taking a sip of his drink. He looked at his cup as she spoke, before looking back at her. âHonestly, a getaway would be ideal at this point,â he chuckled as she used his full name, one of the few he didnât mind hearing it from. Plus he knew if he had told her how much he didnât like it, she would almost definitely use it more, at least thatâs what he thought. He propped his chin on his hands. âA nice castle in a faraway land. A private beach somewhere.â Great, now she had gotten him started and there was no way this conversation was going to end anytime soon. âPrivate beach is where I am settled. Many photos must be taken, along with a pretend engagement photo for everyone to go nuts,â he mused, a smile on his face as he looked at Eva, though his eyes glazed over as he imagined a relaxing week off of work. He was well aware he had ignored her last comment, but those details were far less exciting than planning a fake trip. Â
