Lewa Mata
I am making a little Bionicle rewrite where everything is a bit more edgy, just how I like it! Maybe the events don't change much. I like to focus on the innerworkings of the characters and motivations.
Toa Lewa, the embodiment of wind, the maker of breeze, the sound that pass through the tallests of trees in all Le-Wahi... it's very normal for a lot of Le-Matoran only hearing her (I did change the gender of this one too, because a team of only dudes it's a bit boring, even design wise) voice through the breeze; or a cackle zooming by, since she barely speaks to them at all.
Lewa prefers the company of the Rahi. Big? Small? Don't matter. She would learn how they communicate and make herself their friend. No "nos" allowed. If she can't do it in one day, she will spend weeks on making even the nastiests and lone of Rahi her friend.
It's not that she HATES her people, not at all. They are all friendly and energetic, like a bunch of tiny Muakas running around their mother while playing. She thinks they are very cute, but she is treating them like she doesn't really respects them at all. Nothing they say to her matter in the slightest.
Lewa had some suspicions on why that was. Why she liked the company of Rahi better. Why the noise from a river Tarakava roaring were way more enjoyable than the voice of any Le-Matoran. Her mind might have forgotten, but the body always remembers, every single tiny thing...
Since Lewa arrived at Mata-Nui, she had her legs very damaged. Not badly enough to make her unable to walk, but badly enough to be a difficult task to do.
She guessed that was why she was so precise and skillful with her control over air and her Kanohi Miru, born from the necessitie of having a better way to move around.
Another thing she found interesting, was her fear of heights. Didn't matter if it were just a few meters off the floor, sitting on the top of the tree, or on top of some stairs. Her stomach clenched and always looking away. A reason for her to ALWAYS be hanging from somewhere. That is a fear she would NEVER let it get root in her.
A bit combative by nature. Going her own way. Except when Onua asked for something, that's when all of what I just said goes off the window. The reason? I don't even think Lewa knows why. She could hear Onua talk for hours... but Onua never did. But she also had this little itch in the back of her brain to hurt Onua back. A scatch, squeezing and arm too hard. Asking for a sparring. She maybe have something in common with Pohatu, but in another level.
Maybe some day she will learn why she is like this. Even if she has a predisposition to get controlled like a puppet. Maybe she likes it. Maybe she hates a bit too much what she became.
