A chance encounter @ H&J
Jaxon followed Hollis’ nod with a solemn shake of his head, completely at a loss for words. That was exactly it. He did not know what else to say to mend this situation and even if he did manage to, he was sure the omega would not believe any of it. So, instead of doing any of that, he looked down like an idiot..pushing his hands into his pockets as the both of them stood on that cold alley.
It was the anniversary of his turning. The day his parents died, goddamit. And he was sending the wrong message across as if Hollis needed to feel any more shitty. What a great end to the day indeed. As the other moved forward, Reed could not. “Do you promise me you’re goin’ straight home?” He did disagree. There was plenty of stuff to talk about, starting with their relationship, but he would not voice it either..too afraid of what this awkward distance between them could mean now.
He could see that Jaxon wasn't feeling too great about how the conversation but, frankly, neither was Hollis. He was already hurting and Jaxon just had to rub salt in the wounds. His own boyfriend. Fuck, that was miserable to think about. Luckily, however, that meant that conversation was over and Hollis could go home and sulk in peace. That was all he wanted in the first place and look at where he was now. Pushing himself past the alpha, Hollis simply raised his hand before he waved it a bit, beginning to walk back down the street towards Southside, "I'm going home." He repeated for the umpteenth time keeping his gaze on the ground as he drunkenly made his way down the street, ready to put the shit day to rest already.
End.
