I’m captivated by the idea of musicals that make you feel like you enter a world in which you don’t know anything about the people behind the characters. When you watch a movie, you know you’re dealing with, for example, Robert DeNiro. But when you watch Cats, my beloved musical, you don’t see actors as such. You see lovely girls dressed as cats and it’s one of the most erotic experiences in the world - you have all these incredibly sexy kittens right in front of you on the stage and you don’t know who they are.
