So, a few weeks ago I went on a camping trip with my closest childhood friend and her boyfriend, who is Navajo. Over the fire, we talked about various Native American cultures, how traditions transcended different tribes, and, specific to this piece, the relationship between the Sioux people and their horses. I didn’t have reference or anything for this, so sorry for inaccuracies, but it was such a zen experience to hear someone with such deep cultural roots talk about tradition and mutual respect between man and nature, and I just had to draw something as he talked.
