Ive mentioned before that i dont think a dramatic confession or kiss is necessary and i also don't think itd work for the show, its not that patb doesnt do dramatic scenes but when they DO do them its usually pretty show not tell i think.
Needing an official confession for a relationship to be canon is more of a modern cartoon thing, and maybe its also why ive never activley shipped something besides brinky? Just for me personally i prefer subtlety it makes it more meaningful!
And yes to it being more balanced and better for their dynamic. A huge thing for me is like, they do love each other and thats just a fact! Any love interest is destined to not stick thats quite literally in the shows framework. If anyone knows about the list of rules for the roadrunner and coyote cartoons its like that- pinky and brain are the only main characters and side characters can only show up once in a while. They can never split up forever, they will always be together. Thats just how it is thats how the show works, so like Maurice and rob have said they are essentially a couple and a confession or kiss or constant lovey dovey isnt just unnecessary, it doesn't really work for the basis of their dynamic.
So yea i also think they work best as clearly loving each other, and that their relationship is deeper than friends, but it doesn't need to be said out loud what the label for that is. It is what it is and its meant to be like that forever and i really like that :> it also makes less subtle stuff with them fun in fanfic and stuff! It makes all the behind the scenes stuff like the ship art artists from the show draw, the shit rob and mo say, the neverending rabbit hole of brinky content so fun
