During the Boku No Hero Academia “The Two Heroes” movie live viewing on August 4th, 2018, Nobuhiko Okamoto (Bakugou’s VA) said that he was glad that Kirishima was able to be next to Bakugou as he thanked him. He also says “thanks” as Bakugou here too. I quickly subbed this short video! Enjoy~

And, if the season is supposed to end around chapter 120 or so (where people were guessing, although it depends on the amount of fillers Bones adds) then we also have this scene -

And just the entire provisional arc, where Kirishima does not leave Bakugou’s side -

.  . . Basically there are a lot of canon moments between the two in the amount of story that is supposed to be covered this season, and those moments help cement the fact that these two have a close personal bond and care deeply about each other. And these are just the big moments in the manga; there is no telling how much background and filler will be added for these two to help strengthen their bond before the rescue is covered.

Not to mention, the Anime has started off pretty strong -

as well as the entire damn movie showing how close Kirishima and Bakugou are BEFORE Bakugou even got kidnapped, with them going on a vacation abroad TOGETHER, sharing a room, Kirishima buying them matching suits, Kirishima saving Bakugou, the list goes on lol.

It really makes these scenes with Kirishima freaking out and looking heartbroken during Bakugou’s kidnapping all the more painful.

But then we get the hand scene and added hand SQUEEZE, 

the second time Kirishima reaches out for Bakugou’s hand

Okay in all honesty, if bnha really upsets you….if Hori really upsets you….if this Endeavor arc really triggers you….please, please, pleeeeeease DROP THE MANGA/ANIME.

For the sake of your own mental health (I’ve actually seen someone say they got a panic attack from this arc) just stop, especially you minors out there. Cuz there are way too many people investing too much hatred into this series, just log off tumblr, and go outside to get some fresh air.

Don’t invest too much time into something you hate. If you stay away from it you’d feel a lot better, trust me!

Don’t attack this man for writing his own story, everything belongs to him and there’s nothing you can do about it.

You don’t need to like Endeavor, but you also shouldn’t attack the people who are happy at the fact that he’s willing to change, especially if the said people are victims themselves.

First off, this dork obviously put a lot of time into his hero costume. Which does make him look badass.

Then his (rejected) hero name and let’s not forget Lord Explosion

This guy already has created styles and names for his special moves

how he admires All Might so much and wants to be just like him and has built his entire view of heroes on the person he admires the most b/c in the end he’s still just a kid and still has those pure, child-like admiration and goals ten years later and nothing is going to stop him from reaching those goals 

(which sometimes isn’t healthy or good but. still. he’s working on it)

how he comes up with dumbass nicknames for people he doesn’t care about b/c he’s too lazy to remember their names unless they catch his attention and earn his respect

how he’s slowly growing as a person and how he’s giving out advice to his classmates and doing it willingly and helping when they feel down and he’s slowly making friends even without really knowing how but the rest of the class is noticing that he’s not just an angry little rage machine but he’s slowly getting better and trying and they’re getting inspired by him 

so. i’ve gotten a lot of messages and asks about this, so i figure i’d address it.

Bakugou was not abused. Bakugou knows he was not abused.

Bakugou overheard Todoroki’s story of how Endeavor abused his family, and the expression he had on afterward says that Bakugou’s never been presented this this sort of situation before. it caught him off guard. it’s not- right. it isn’t normal. 

Bakugou wasn’t prepared to hear it.

and later on, he confronts Todoroki (trying to rile him up to fight him at full strength), and brings up his past. Bakugou says he doesn’t care about it. he’s trying very hard to convince Todoroki that hearing his past didn’t mean anything to him, except it clearly does. that’s why he’s bringing it up. 

he does care. he does care about Todoroki’s home life. he does care about what Endeavor did to him. he wants Todoroki to let go of that and accept his powers as his own, just like Izuku did, but in his own, round-about, angry, rough way.

Bakugou does care.

and if he were abused, he would’ve had a different reaction to hearing Todoroki’s past. he would’ve felt kinship, or a connection, maybe flashback to something Mitsuki did to him and think something like “That’s what happened to me!” or show some sort of recognition to the similarities between their pasts and history.

but he doesn’t. instead, he was caught off guard. he’s unprepared. he probably knows home abuse happens, but he’s never been so close to it- never known someone it actually happened to. 

he wasn’t sure what to do, because he’s never been in this situation before.

Bakugou lived a sheltered life. he was constantly praised, constantly rewarded, constantly told how awesome he was and always got what he wanted, and always got away with doing shitty things. even by his own mother’s admission, they praised him too much, and it gave him an overblown ego.

he was a big fish in a small pond, and he knows it. it’s why he struggled so much at UA after getting in, because he was forced to realize that he wasn’t as awesome as he thought, and it was a big blow.

Bakugou was spoiled.

later on, we see Bakugou suggest violence to corral the kids, citing his upbringing. which, for Bakugou, probably means smacking the kids lightly on the back of the head, because that’s what Mitsuki did to him whenever he made a smart remark or got himself into trouble.

that isn’t abuse. i’m not saying it’s right, either, but it’s far from abuse. it’s something common that happens in many households, and is especially common in japanese culture. it’s not abuse, and it’s not meant to be taken seriously.

look at the difference between Todoroki’s reaction to his father’s violence, and Bakugou’s reaction to Mitsuki’s slap. Todoroki looks absolutely terrified, crying into his mother’s shirt because his father hurt her, begging not to become like his father, and then pure anger at what Endeavor’s abuse did to his mother.

meanwhile, Bakugou threatens to send Mitsuki into the ceiling, in a completely comedic, not-serious manner. clearly, the slap didn’t bother him that much if he’s yelling such silly, hyperbolic statements back at his mother. 

his reaction is much closer to one he has whenever his classmates mess with him than it is a reaction towards abuse. 

not to mention, All Might and Aizawa would have done something if it were something serious. they’re two of the characters who care about children’s wellbeing the most. 

back to my earlier point, when Todoroki vetoes Bakugou’s idea, Bakugou gets angry, but then he flashes back to when he learned about Todoroki’s past. he remembers what Endeavor did to Todoroki and his mom. he remembers his own horrified reaction to learning about it.

that’s exactly the kind of reaction someone would have when complaining about something, and then remembering someone else around you had it way worse. 

so Bakugou immediately drops it, under the guise of taunting Todoroki, but mostly because he doesn’t wanna push the issue when Todoroki’s had a bad history of violence from his own father since he was a child. he’s being conscientious of Todoroki’s home situation and upbringing, because he knows it was Bad. 

Bakugou knows Mitsuki was rough on him. but he also knows that what he grew up with was completely different than what Todoroki lived through, and he, very clearly, drops the idea when he remembers this.

Bakugou respects Todoroki’s veto against the idea, because he knows about Todoroki’s personal history, and he’s being conscientious about Todoroki’s personal feelings on the issue. because he knows their personal experiences towards this are different, and Todoroki had it far worse, and he deserves to have that opinion on this subject respected and honored because of what he lived through.

Bakugou is suggesting smacking them on the back of the head, at most, because they’re being unruly and little smartasses, and that’s what his mom did to him when he was being an unruly little smartass. Bakugou knows Todoroki was abused, however, and drops the idea when Todoroki disagrees with it. 

Bakugou was not abused. he knows he was not abused. he knows Todoroki was abused, however. and that’s enough for him to respect Todoroki’s voice on the matter.

She isn’t. She is not. You know who else would be “canon physically abusive” if she had been? All Might punching Deku straight in the face in this same episode. Jirou punching Sero in the face because he offended Momo. Tsuyu every single time she hits Mineta. This manga is full of similar gags, the reason why you’re holding up on this one specifically is because she is a mother and Bakugou is her son, but this is how it is: Horikoshi was drawing a gag. A very common one. An incredibly common one, even just inside bnha itself. I’m not saying you have to like the fact that it has been used, but what Horikoshi was doing there was showing you that Aizawa’s worries had been unecessary

You call her mentally abusive for, what, having told him he’s weak? That’s literally one single sentence out of a character you barely know in the middle of a gag scene - if you look at Bakugou, read him as a character from beginning to end, the fact that he hasn’t been brought up in a family that degraded him constantly is more than obvious. As I said, you don’t grow up that entitled and sure you’re destined to be number one if your family is treating you like dirt constantly

But if you don’t believe me you can look at the living room they’re in! Masaru and Mitsuki are designers, and nowhere in their profile they’re said to be award winning ones - yet behind Aizawa there’s prizes over prizes piled up, you think half if not all of those aren’t Bakugou’s? She says that everyone is always praising him and they’re included, you see it in how Bakugou isn’t scared of telling her he’ll kill her or tell his dad to shut the fuck up! That’s not an abused child. Horikoshi knows how to write abused children, you have proof of it with Todoroki, and Bakugou isn’t written as one

That’s a bit extreme. My mom takes every waking moment to call me out and punish me when I deserve it. Not saying I would advise to slap your child over small things like Mitsuki clearly does, but take into consideration that (as much as I love Bakugou) he’s a little bitch sometimes. And if you prefer to be that pushover parent that watches their kid burn the world down and just go “Please stop”, then honey you’ve got a biG STORM COMIN. God help your children.

It’s clear Mitsuki is literally a woman version of Bakugou; like some mom’s are she’s very blunt, expressive of her real emotions, and doesn’t give two flying shots about anyone else. While some of those qualities aren’t amazing, as a mom with an overconfident bratty son it’s good to have a blunt personality to keep him in line.

I mean just think about it, could you imagine Bakugou with a mom who l e t him get away with the way he acted as a child?? Lord only knows he may not of even wanted to be a hero if he realized how much power he had over others.
