i think that's good for a game where you're rolling a random class/bg and you want to be able to confidently toss out details or allusions to stuff in the world and be like "yeah there is, somewhere, a sphere where X thing is true"

this kind of many-largely-self-contained-but-traversible-worlds effect is doable in a less gonzo fantasy setting by means of, say, islands in an archipelago, although it introduces a problem that Troika doesn't really have, which is that you can have a map of an archipelago (and players may even want one if they are traveling around this world) and the relative positions of islands are fixed and important

you can have a setting that's just very large (infinite flat plane, orbital ring, etc) and has some nontrivial method of very rapid travel (teleportation etc). that has the mappability issue but less pressingly than "we are taking boats between neighboring islands"

you can say islands move, of course. either because they are aspidochelonian type giant creature islands or because the sea is something stranger or more cosmological/metaphysical than your average briny body of water. but then you get some weirdnesses, like the only cultures with routine interactions are ones that share an island (or cluster of islands, if there are stable clusters). unless of course there is some non-boatlike method of reliable transportation between places.
