One of the most "Why, tho?" Things House of the Dragon does is erase the impact Luke's death has on Aemond's reputation. That's what gets people calling him Kinslayer. Not Aegon's injury. The show literally acts like the small folk and most nobles have no idea what the hell happened. It's so stupid.

They set up the premise of Aemond feeling guilty for Luke's death so nicely by making it something of an accident, and then proceed to do absolutely nothing with it in the long run. It's like the writers forgot Lucerys as a character existed. But we definitely needed that hallucination of Aemond sleeping with his mother.
