Someone makes (possibly correct) assumptions. Is character A trying to come out, but the other character(s) already knew? Is character B assuming their friend(s) know something about them they actually don’t, which leads to misunderstandings? Do characters C and D (and maybe E), who thought that they had been so discreet, realize that everyone had assumed they were an item since before they actually got together? Gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship status, in vs. out of the closet... from angst to fluff, the possibilities are endless!

A queerplatonic relationship shows characteristics typically associated with romantic relationships, like deep emotional intimacy, prioritization, and connection, while defying a “romantic or platonic” categorization. Queerplatonic partners may engage in physical intimacy, such as hugging, kissing, and holding hands, without it being considered sexual or escalating into sexual activity; however, it is not necessarily required or expected.
