What is the difference between a witch and a ghost? Is it fair to say a ghost is a certain kind of witch?
No? A witch is someone who practices witchcraft and a ghost is generally a dead person who didnât move on (or chose not to I suppose )
DAFUQ? SERIOUSLY?

The Art of Wildcrafting
Wildcrafting is the term for harvesting plants from the wild. This can mean hiking through the woods or mountains, or gathering âweedsâ from your garden (or with permission, your neighborâs!)
This past fall at the Southeast Wise Womenâs Herbal Conference, I took a class called the Art of Wildcrafting with Jessica Godino - lovely lady.
First she talked us through her reasons for wildcrafting:
Eating wild things awakens the wildness in you, and can be the touchstone for getting to know them.
Unlike their cultivated counterparts, wild foods are what your body has actually been expecting since birth - weâre not meant to eat this processed, hybridized stuff - on a cellular level, us and wild plants just âfit.â
It helps you develop a personal relationship with the plant as it was meant to be, as Nature planned it.Â
Then she launched into basic guidelines for ethical and safe wildcrafting, which Iâll put up in the next post.Â
She told us about the transformative experience of going out in the back yard and digging up her first dandelion to make dinner from, and how that realization that weeds are edible, and can be medicine, completely changed her. There were a lot of women nodding, so apparently this is pretty common. Until the last week or so, I kind of laughed this one off. Then I went out in the backyard and dug up some dandelions for my first batch of dandelion tincture (Iâm working from The Herbal Medicine Makerâs Handbook by James Green - excellent book) and finally started to understand what sheâs talking about. I dug up a plain old dandelion, washed it, chopped it, and realized that I have the beginnings of a medicine that I could give to my friend to take for his gallstones. He has no health insurance, so this is an easy, inexpensive option that came straight from the bounty of nature.
She also talked us through the basics of when to harvest different parts of a plant for medicine, basically by identifying when the life-force is strongest in the desired part of the plant.
Leaves should be gathered right before the plant blossoms, as close as you can to flowering.
Since you want the inner bark, if bark is what youâre after, twigs in spring when the sap is really flowing are perfect.
Flowers should be gathered at their peak, just before the insects come, when they have the most to give. This is often the peak of summer or spring.
Nuts, berries, and fruits should obviously just be gathered when theyâre there and ripe.
Roots are best harvested in late fall, or right after the first frost, when all the life-force has gone down underground to sleep in the roots.

I find it so much easier to be creatively free at night. Daytime is for sleeping. Nighttime is the best time for making art. The later at night it gets the further into another world you go.

{Forest Nymph} by {Saver-Ag}
{Mythical Creatures- Nymphs}
In Greek mythology, nymphs were minor female deities associated with nature. Typically pictured as beautiful girls or young women, they could live for a very long time but were not immortal. Most nymphs were the daughters of Zeus* or of other Gods. In Greek mythology, different types of nymphs were associated with particular parts of the natural world. Nereids lived in both saltwater and freshwater.humans. However, some stories tell of nymphs who lured unsuspecting mortals to their deaths.Different kinds of nymphs were associated with particular parts of the natural world. The Oceanids were sea nymphs, daughters of the sea god Oceanus. One of the Oceanids married the sea god Nereus, and their daughters became the Nereids, nymphs who dwelled in both freshwater and saltwater. Another group of water nymphs, the Naiads were freshwater spirits associated with fountains, streams, rivers, and other forms of running water. Forest nymphs were divided into Dryads, originally linked specifically with oak trees but later known as nymphs of woods and forests in general, and the Hamadryads, who dwelled inside particular trees and perished when the trees died. Other types of nymphs included the Orestiads or Oreads (mountain nymphs), Meliae (nymphs of ash trees), and Leimoniads (meadow nymphs.)

Your book on Witchcraft is bullshit if:
It uses the âWitchcraftâ and âWiccaâ fuckin interchangeablyÂ
It suggests youâre one dreadlock and eagle feather away from being your very own, white Shaman
It claims âVoodooâ is a super fun, spooky thing that everyone should join in on
Smudging is cool, also, has anyone seen my works cited? Oh thatâs right, I didnât make one.
If you curse, you are mustache twirling devil and the 3 fold law is gonna send your ass to witch hellÂ
All witches, Wiccan or not should abide by the rede or burn the hell up in the aforementioned fictional witch hell
Ignorantly throws around the word âChakrasâ like fuckin mardi gras beadsÂ
You even see the word gypsy once
Spices things up with some sacred, closed and wildly un researched Native American Spiritualism
Miscellaneous new age white person spiritualism
And hereâs some Ohms.  ŕŤÂ ŕŤÂ ŕŤÂ
Iâm not sure what what they but have some more Ohms ŕŤÂ ŕŤÂ ŕŤÂ ŕŤÂ ŕŤÂ

Seashell Magick
Long before fancy new-age tools became readily available through specialty shops, our magic-using ancestors turned to nature for their power objects. Natural objects are imbued with spiritual energies that we can harness for our own use in spells and charms. Seashells in particular have a long history of magical uses, as they were associated with the powers of various sea gods and goddesses of different cultures. Properties
Being born of the ocean, shells are strongly associated with the element of water. They are also associated with the moon, which drives ocean tides. Both the element of water and the moon have strong feminine energies that are receptive in nature, so shells are primarily used in magic to draw things you desire into your life.
Preparation
Shells taken from the ocean need little ritual preparation for magical uses; however, if your shells were bought from a store or have been stashed in a box for a while, they may benefit from cleansing and recharging. To do this, place your shells in a bowl of water mixed with sea salt. Set them aside to soak for a day or overnight. Recharge them by setting the bowl in the sun or under the light of the full moon for several hours.
Love
One of the main symbols for Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, is the seashell. Invoke the power of Aphrodite for love spells using shells by wearing seashell jewelry or hair ornaments to attract a mate. Use a hinged seashell with the two parts still attached as a powerful love talisman to keep two lovers together. Write the initials of the lovers on the inside of the shell, one on each side, then seal it shut with glue.
Prosperity
Many cultures used shells as a form of currency. Cowrie shells were used in Africa and North America, and Native Americans used wampumâbeads made from clam shellsâas money. Because of this, shells are suitable for money spells. Fill a small green or gold pouch with seashells, a silver coin and mint, which is a money-drawing herb. Hang the bag where you do business, and rub it when you desire prosperity. Place a small seashell in your wallet or purse to continually keep money coming to it.
Protection
Protection is a shellâs primary purpose in nature, as it is made to keep small, defenseless sea creatures safe from harm. Because of this, shells have strong protective energies. Many cultures in coastal areas use shells in folk magic to protect the home by placing strings of shells over windows and doors. Necklaces of strung shells can be worn by children to keep them close to home and safe from harm. Placing a small, round shell on the collars of your pets will keep them safe should they wander from home.
Particular shells also have their own individual meanings:

20 Questions for Witchy-Folk
I don't think that I've done a single one of these before, then I saw this one and something said to just go for it.
Flood my ask box, you guys!
1. What would you classify your path as? Green
2. What deities (if any) do you worship, study, honor, feel drawn to, etc? Epona, Arianrhod
3. Is there a particular element you seem to gravitate towards or work with most? Earth
4. Is there an element you work with the least? not really
5. Are there any paths, practices or types of magic you are inexperienced, but very interested in? I actually work with anything that I'm interested in so I guess not.
6. What tools do you use? We share a permanent circle that intersects water from all for quadrants at a fire pit center. Other than that I personally use whatever is near at the time. Be it water from a stream, a branch from a tree, a stone from the ground... Magick to me is more using what you are given than looking for items that you may use later and never actually do anything with them.
7. Do you use altars or shrines? We have our shrines but other than the circle they are for memories.
8. If you celebrate the sabbats, which is your favorite? Samhain when the veil is at it's thinnest
9. Have you found any music that relates to your craft or that helps you work and express? I prefer Blackmore's Night (since Candace is one of my favorite people and some of Laura Powers "Beyond the Pale" and "Goddess of the Sea Mist"
10. If you could live any three places, where would you live? I've actually lived in my favorite places. Colorado Rockies, Scottish Highlands and Romania where I am now.
11. Are you open about your beliefs or are they mostly kept in the broom closet? I hide nothing of my magick. I just don't believe in hiding who I am.
12. Have you ever run into any stereotypes or problems relating to your beliefs? Superstitious Catholics mostly but I just ignore stupidity.
13. Do you have any 'witchy' things you do daily? My life is a "witchy" thing. My first item in the morning is getting ready for the sunrise circle and my last is eating before going to be after sunset circle.
14. Is there a particular time you prefer to work? (Night, day, dusk, dawn, seasons, am, pm, etc.) Oh if it wasn't for the babies hours I'd still be roaming all night.
15. Do you work with others, by yourself, or sort of a mix? I have no problem working alone but it's normally at least me and the "six pack" my six girls that spend all of their time with me for years now.
16. If there was one thing you could change or have happen in the craft community, what would it be (if anything)? Yeah, Quit hiding who you are. Honestly, witches are some of the most powerful people on the earth. Normals don't even believe in many of the things we do every day much less try to accomplish anything productive. Quit hiding and start working to actually DO SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE
17. Do you work with plants? If so, how do you use them? Do you grow your own or buy them? Fresh, dried? I prefer fresh from the garden vegetables and herbs. That's not practical year round so we do store some in the cellar for the colder months. I am not adverse to buying things that I do not have or drying/preserving them for use later.
18. Any familiars? this one I will not answer. To me you don't give others that power over you.
19. Are there any quotes, lyrics, poems or passages from a book that resonate with you in regards to your craft? "Witches don't look like anything. Witches are. Witches Do" Franny Billingsly chime
20. Is there anything in particular you study or know a lot about? Spiritism, Elementism, Circle Magick, Animism
Hopefully this cleared up some things. If not, ask.
