2 weeks. That's how long it's been. 2 weeks since the fire, since you lost everything.
You can't remember how it started, all you knew was you'd left your home for work, and when you returned, home wasn't there anymore. You remembered the crowds of people who had gathered in horror to watch. You remembered the flashing lights of the fire engines and ambulances. The lush grass of your front yard turned to ashes, your front door scorched on the inside. The smell of smoke filling your lungs, suffocating you.
Above all else, you remembered a grave absence. Something missing. Something important.
Your cries were drowned out by the sirens, by the murmurs of terror. You called out for him over and over again but heard nothing in return.
Taking in a deep, long breath, you looked up to face the sea of black before you.
"Tsuki was... everything to me... I never liked to admit it. I never wanted him to know how weak I was.", you took in the silence of the crowd before continuing.
"He was... stubborn... and cold... but above all else, he was strong. He never let anything get to him. If you insulted him or tried to knock him down, he'd stand strong and hit you right back. I think that his strength... was something a lot of people liked to overlook."
You hung your head and sniffled.
In the front row, you could hear Yamaguchi beginning to sob, the rest of his team trying not to do the same.
"I loved Tsuki. More than anything!", you let the tears flow, "I loved him and couldn't do a damn thing to help him. I promised my heart to him but couldn't save his. He deserved so much more than me. He deserved to have so much more time! He could have done something great for this world... but his story ended too soon."
Slowly, you turn and put a hand on the cold, glossed surface of the coffin, the ring on your finger creating an echoed 'clink' sound as the two connected. "... I love Tsuki more than anything... More than I'll love anyone ever again."
