Semi-Hiatus

I adore my baby Spinel, but there’s... a bit too many of us at the present. So until that clears up, I’m going to put her on a Semi-Hiatus. It’s a little irksome, since there’s only X amount of things you can do with a muse and, by process of elimination, every Spinel will have done everything in the span of days.

me: -actually does starters out of the blue-

“...oh, hey, Steve-O. Didn’t hear ya sneakin’ up on me. Ya’d be a champ at hide n’ seek.”

Granted, Spinel was the one that had come back to Earth just to sit on the cliffside and stare off at the waves. It wasn’t much of a surprise that someone had seen her, been afraid, and told Steven or the other Crystal Gems. She’s just glad that it wasn’t one of the others that might have smacked her so hard in the gob that she’d be seeing stars. 

It was instinctive, really. She saw someone vaguely taller than her so her arms started to move as if to give them the Diamond Salute. Before she did, however, it registered that the person before her was, indeed, not a Diamond after all. It was kind of silly that she had thought of such, now that she actually took more than the sparest glance.

“Oh, sorry, lady. Force o’ habit. Why ya givin’ me that look?”

“Oooh yeah, let’s talk about that.”

It was something she probably needed to get off her chest, even if it was at the Diamonds’ expense. Which, as most knew, probably was a dangerous game to be playing. Still, if she didn’t, she’d probably explode in their faces instead. 

“Lemme tell ya how much they talk about Lil’ Miss ‘Starlight’. Just on and on! It’s the biggest fuckin’ pity party I’ve been to and I was at my damned own!” Hands wrap around her pigtails, tugging on them in frustration as she grit her teeth in anger. “And when I try t’ distract them they just ramble on ‘bout how I remind ‘em of Pink! ‘Oooh, no wonder Pink liked you.’ ‘Oooh, Pink was so good at that sort of thing.’

Even Pink treated me with more respect and she left me on a damned rock for six thousand years! They’re all the damned same in the end.” 

Spinel rubbed her face, groaning as she tried to pull herself together.
