It was strange for Matthew to have nothing to do, he was the type of person who filled every second of his day and never took any time off unless he absolutely had to, and he hated that not only did have to spend the day taking it easy, but that he had to interrupt someone elseâs day as well. He was very glad when Daisy answered and was willing to help, âYou are amazing, thank you so much. And, honestly, thatâs fair, if I get you sick, you can whine to me as much as you want, but itâs just a sinus infection, Iâm not sure if thatâs contagious or not, regardless you should be fine.â Heâd been raised with a large number of siblings and if one of them got sick, they all got sick, so theyâd been taught very early on to keep their germs to themselves, and he liked to think he was good at it.
He made sure he was ready when she arrived, not wanting to keep her waiting when she was doing him a favor, and when she pulled up, the first thing he did was thank her again, âI really appreciate this, Iâve been trying to work through this for days, but when youâre sneezing so much you almost cut one of your fingers off with a saw, thatâs a sign you need to take a day or two off. I hope Iâm not disrupting your Sunday too much.â
Daisy was pretty sluggish dragging herself to her car, but she knew she needed to do something with her day. Even if that something was her simply giving someone a ride to the grocery store. She didnât have to do it, but she knew sheâd get the itch to leave her apartment later that day, and it might as well have been sooner rather than later. Plus, Matthew was a nice enough guy, there was no reason for her to make something up as to why she couldnât help him out. Besides, how long could this possibly take? âWell, you know me, being the tiny weakling that I am, I could probably--somehow--still catch it.â She smirked at her own comment--one so obviously laced with sarcasm. Daisy would never, ever refer to herself as âweakâ, unless for a joke of course. âIâll be there soon, sicky.âÂ
It didnât take long for the brunette to arrive at her acquaintanceâs home, and she was pleased to see she didnât even have to get out of her car to get him to come out. Daisy shrugged at his comment, driving off as soon as he was in the car. âThatâs probably why youâre not better already. Have you gone to a doctor? Iâm pretty sure you need antibiotics or something for sinus infections.â She laughed slightly, âYou only interrupted me starting The Office for the sixth time, so I might just have to thank you.â She glanced at him, âOr yell at you. Itâs a good show.â She was, once again, obviously kidding. âWhere are we going, chief? Just the grocery store, no where else?â
