hi, everyone! i bring you: jung haeun, ladybug's main vocal and face of the group! she has a younger sister, jung haeni ( @wshaeni ⥠). as usual: here is her profile, here is her bio, and here is career page, but there'll be a tl;dr version of her personality + past under the cut! so please do like this post if anything sparkles your interest and i'll be right up in your ims âĄ
ps: i do have discord if anyone thinks that it's better to plot through there, just let me know!
ABOUT HER
jung haeun, 27, ladybug's main vocal and face of the group. she was a child actress that turned into an idol. she's overall friendly and someone nice to talk to. sort of has those popular girl vibes (a nice popular girl, and not regina george) so wouldn't be surprised if she's a little intimidating to approach but i promise she's very welcoming.
her sort of variety skills aren't about her being all crazy energetic and high spirit and more about her knowing what to say and use her timing, even if she does act like a dork on camera sometimes.
she's also a little of a contradiction because at the same time that she can be impulsive and all about doing what you feel like doing and dealing with the consequences when they come, she can also be strict and restrained with her own actions especially and mainly. this is due to her mom's parenting that we'll get there in a bit.
extremely organized and she'll demand people around her to be as organized as her â i'm sorry @/ladybug members, but at least she moved out of the dorm ksdjfk
also very much a perfectionist with her own things and projects but then much more encouraging and supportive when it's about other people, her critics aren't as mean.
a mellowed personification of "if you wanna do it, then go do it" which can easily turn her into an enabler so please take her encouragement with caution.
she's usually extra supportive and nice to her juniors and people younger than her because she's trying to be a better senior/older model to them â lowkey trying to compensate the fact that she was a horrible older sister but pls do not call her out on that.
at the same time that she can be the sweetest person you've ever met, haeun can also get quite petty and passive aggressive when she's angry at someone, do not recommend. he never lashes out in the sense of yelling/shouting at someone. she gets snarky instead and she'll read you to filth with a smile on her face, do not recommend.
is trying to change it but is sort of still "i'll keep all my negative feelings right here and then one day i'll die."
she was much worse about expressing her feelings and putting aside what she calls "her mask" but then living with the rest of the ladybug members, she's getting better. before she was a little stiff in expressing her affection and now she's just a sap. an awkward sap but still.
still carries a lot of guilt towards her little sister and how she treated her (especially for not being there for her when haeni needed her the most) so sometimes she's torn between having motivation to be an idol and let her sister live her dream through haeun or feel bad about it because she haeni deserves to be on stage too.
HER PAST
she's the oldest daughter of a failed actress so ofc mom decided it'd be the best idea to use haeun to live her dream, so haeun was raised to be a doll instead of a kid and this is the reason why haeun started acting so young and why it was a struggle to make her portfolio
is considered the favorite daughter but....... haeun has a lot of arguments against that, ha h a
TW: ABUSIVE PARENTING her mom was extremely controlling, from what haeun would wear to what she would like. and always shut her daughter down/punished or guilt tripped haeun into "behaving" whenever she tried to protest against any of this.
that's why she even resented her little sister for a while because she clearly had much more freedom than haeun had and tbh baby haeun just wanted to be asked what she wanted for dinner and to be able to give an honest answer and not what mom wanted her to answer.
and then she found her own kind of freedom when she auditioned for yuseong with dad's help so they could keep it away from mom until haeun became an adult (and debuted) so mom couldn't do anything to stop her anymore. there was still a fight and all that, but everything sort of went well in the end. mom was a little appeased that at least haeun could still do some side acting gigs and get famous.
she did a lot of stupid shit as a trainee though like those kids with strict parents that suddenly get much more freedom than they know how to deal with? that's it. that's haeun. thank god, she didn't anything too bad. but yeah. still. she did enjoy her late teenage years a little too wildly.
(now she has mellowed down a lot because she did mature and even though she still does impulsive stuff sometimes, it's like... it's manageable, ok)
either way. she debuts on ladybug and tries her best like she does in everything. everything is well and good that she even tries to make amends with her little sister. it's a mess, but they figure it out and now they have a better relationship â it's still a process but it's at least a start. they even live together now so yay.
