10:56 PM.
There was not a doubt in Rafaelâs mind that he would not be home until after midnight. This case had been excruciating--brutal, really. Everyone had been pushed to their breaking point. Blood, sweat, and tears were poured into this case.
And here Rafael was with a pen cap fastened between his teeth, struggling to write an opening argument. It all seemed trivial. That words had the power to make or break a monthâs worth of hard work. And that all he could think about was going home to his partner.Â
He wouldnât allow himself the privilege of a break until he finished his opening and prepped the summations, which was always his least favorite part. Tying everything together with a neat bow seemed to minimize the effort put into seeking justice. But it was his strong suit. There wasnât a jury he couldnât convince if given enough leeway during summations.Â
His mind wandered yet again, back to the person that was waiting for him. He knew she would still be waiting for him when he got home, undoubtedly doing work of her own. She found solace in the quiet of the night. She would sit at the dining table with papers scattered across the surface, highlighters uncapped, lukewarm tea cooling unforgotten.Â
Then there were her expressions. A furrowed brow while drafting a proposal. A lip bite accompanied by pensive tapping on the table. Her head slowly moving to the beat of the music that was playing from the speaker in the corner of the room. An exasperated sigh escaping as she typed another after-hours email. All of these things were the tiny details that Rafael loved noticing, learning, anticipating.
Finally, Rafael caved and placed a long-awaited phone call.
âRaf,â she answered, voice as tender as kiss goodbye.
âCariĂąo,â he replied, feeling a million times better just knowing she was on the opposite end of the line.
âWhen will you be home?â He could hear her trying to hide a yawn behind the scenes.
âNot any time soon.â
âRafael, please take care of yourself,â she pleaded, yet it was to no avail. She knew this.
âI have to finish this prep, CariĂąo.â He could hear her eyes roll from across the line, âI bet youâre still doing work, too.â
âThatâs none of your business,â she retorted, with a guilty shift in energy.Â
âTake care of yourself,â he repeated, âIâll be home soon. Donât wait up.âÂ
âI love you.â
His heart grew full, âI love you more.â
Rafael ended the call, reclining in his leather chair. He had been overcome by love, both for his partner and for the way his life had been going lately. Despite the monstrosities he witnessed at work, everything had been going well. Even then, he enjoyed working with his coworkers; they acted as a support system, making the job a little more bearable.Â
Then there was his love life. For once, everything was going right. He felt loved, supported, and capable of doing the same for his partner. It had been too long since he had that privilege. He knew too well the outcomes of a loveless life and he was trying desperately to escape them. Deep down, he understood that he didnât deserve that.Â
But there were times where he thought he didnât deserve the love he had stumbled into. Never in a million years would he have thought that he would have fallen in love with the girl from the bar.Â
The rain had finally let up outside, encouraging a few stragglers to clear the bar. Rafael remained, nursing a scotch on the rocks, muttering to himself about the news on the television overhead. It was a bunch of nonsense about the news anchor he and the SVU squad had just charged. He couldnât listen much longer.Â
A gust of wind hit as the door to Forliniâs opened; it sent shivers down Rafaelâs back. Inquisitively, Rafael turned to see the person who just waltzed into the bar. Much to his surprise, it was a beautiful woman. He smirked and returned to his drink, secretly hoping that she would find her way to the bar.
She did just that, taking a seat two stools down from Rafael. He continued to watch the television, discreetly listening to her conversation with the bartender. Small talk. Nothing more, nothing less. Aside from her order--a vodka cranberry.Â
âWill you get a load of this idiot?â She chirped, scoffing at the story of the news anchor. Her head was tilted in Rafaelâs direction.Â
He took a moment to answer, pausing to make sure she was directing her remarks towards him.Â
âHeâs surely a handful,â Rafael replied.Â
Just then, his face appeared on the television screen. They had played his interview on the courthouse steps. He had been ambushed by the press, and even though he delivered better than most, it was not his best work. He silently thanked the Lord that the sound was off.
âIs that you?â She asked, spinning in her seat to face Rafael.
âYes, it is.â
âItâs a shame, you look better in person,â she tisked, taking another sip of her drink.
Rafael couldnât respond out of awe. No, that wasnât the right word. He couldnât respond because he was flustered. That was a first.Â
âSorry, itâs the vodka talking,â she retracted, making a face that suggested she was embarrassed.Â
âNo, Iâm flattered. Itâs not everyday the pretty girl at the bar tells me how attractive I look while sulking alone.â
âThis is your version of sulking? Sitting at a bar surrounded by a bunch of people?â
âPerhaps,â he smirked, âRafael,â he offered his hand.
âY/N.â
âBeautiful name for a beautiful woman.â
âI was named after a comic book character, please donât give my parents that kind of credit,â she laughed. It was contagious, infecting Rafael with an affliction that could not be easily cured. Not without an exchange of numbers and a couple of dates.
The memories of their first meeting flooded Rafaelâs mind. It further distracted him from the task at hand. But how could he not think of the most impactful night of his life? Screw graduating from law school or getting promoted; nothing could top falling in love with Y/N.Â
Nothing could top her love. From the little notes she dropped in Rafaelâs briefcase to the silent support she offered when Rafael was not strong enough to ask for it. Thatâs when his mind wandered even farther, thinking back to the night he decided he was in love with Y/N.Â
Rafael sat on the couch in a near-catatonic state. He couldnât muster enough energy to move. His mind kept circling back to the horrors he had witnessed over the past 24 hours. In his ten years, never once had a case hit him this hard. It just cemented the callousness of man, something he had been trying to deny for so long. There was no such thing as a good person.
There was a knock at the door, a sound that should have startled him. Instead he was too lost in thought to react. He simply got up from the couch and headed to the door, only to be greeted by Y/N on the other side.Â
âRafael,â she mused, before noticing the hurt behind his eyes, âWhatâs wrong? Are you okay?â
She invited herself in, dropping her overnight bag by the door. Concern washed over her.
Rafael tried to speak but no words came out. He couldnât find the right thing to say. His choices were to expose Y/N to the horrors of his job or simply keep it bottled up. His choice was the latter; he couldnât bear the thought of unloading this grief on her.Â
âRaf, please talk to me,â she quietly pleaded.Â
He did not respond. Instead, he made his way to the couch, taking a seat in the same spot he had been sulking in for the past three hours.Â
Y/N followed without command. She rested her head on his shoulder, wrapping her hands gently around his arm. She placed a kiss on his cheek. It made Rafaelâs heart jump, yet he still remained silent.Â
But that didnât deter Y/N. She remained glued to his side, occasionally laying a gentle kiss on him or drawing circles on his bicep. She didnât push; she knew better than that. Still, just her presence brought Rafael to his knees.Â
After an hour or so, Rafael could feel her heartbeat slow. He could see her eyes fluttering shut from the corners of his.Â
âI love you,â he whispered, hoping that she wouldnât hear. Rafael felt guilty saying those words for the first time in such a terrible state.Â
âI love you more,â she replied, drifting into a slumber in his arms.Â
Rafael knew this could never be true.Â
The hands on the clock seemed to turn at an unprecedented pace, yet Rafael had gotten little done. It all seemed pointless. There had to be more to life than this. Hours spent in some poorly-lit office drinking dirt flavored coffee, waiting for his mind to stop running a marathon so he could focus. Watching people suffer everyday for some little bit of justice. Doubting the existence of good in the world with every passing moment.Â
But the thing he couldnât stand was being away from the love of his life. For such a pointless endeavor. It was pointless, but it wasnât what he wanted. Not anymore. Not with the prospect of love sitting right in front of him. In that moment, he decided to be the most spontaneous he had ever been.Â
He whipped open the bottom left drawer of his desk, pulled out a copy of his resignation letter, signed it, and placed it in the mailbox of his boss. He grabbed his jacket, briefcase, and cellphone before practically running to the lobby of Hogan Place. By a stroke of sheer luck, a taxi had been idling outside. Rafael got into the taxi without hesitation--or permission--and called out the address to the apartment he had shared with Y/N. Getting to their front door was his only objective.Â
As he settled into the taxi, he reached inside of his briefcase and felt a small item lodged at the bottom. Rafael quizzically pulled it out, determining that it was cube-shaped. As it was illuminated by the passing streetlights, he recognized it instantly. And thatâs where he decided to make the best decision of his life.Â
âMami, are you going to be okay if Iâm gone for two weeks on vacation?â Rafael asked, changing a lightbulb in his motherâs apartment.Â
It was a Saturday which meant it was his day to do chores around his motherâs apartment, with much reluctance on behalf of Lucia, while Y/N went through her laminated chore checklist back at their apartment. Rafael had come straight from his office, totally forgetting his to-dos. Until Y/N reminded him--a pretty common occurrence.Â
âI promise, Mijo,â she said, taking his hand and guiding him down the step stool, âIâm just happy youâre taking time off.â
âMe too,â he sighed, a wave of bliss flooding his mind as he thought of going to Greece with Y/N. Heâs dreamt of her sunburnt cheeks and wine-stained lips since the moment he bought the tickets.Â
âIt seems like an awfully romantic vacation. Have you thought about asking yet?â Lucia hinted, pointing to her ring finger.Â
Rafael didnât want to say âyes.â He didnât want to let her know that he had been planning it since their six-month anniversary. He couldnât wait to spend the rest of his life with the woman he loved.Â
âIâve considered it,â he teased, âbut Greece is too cliche. She wouldnât appreciate it.â
âYou underestimate her, Rafi. She loves you.âÂ
âAnd I love her. More than anything.âÂ
Lucia scoffed, furrowing her brow in disgust.
âBesides you, Mami,â he sang, pulling her in for a hug,
While in Rafaelâs arms, Lucia slyly removed a small box from her pocket and slipped it into Rafaelâs briefcase. It was his grandmotherâs ring, the one she always talked about leaving for him. The one she made sure to mention everyday she was sick. Lucia would never forget something that important.Â
Rafael grabbed his belongings with haste, basically throwing $50 at the cab driver, telling him to keep the tip. He slammed the door behind him, jogging to the apartment elevators. He was too lost in thought to greet the doorman or the security guard at the front desk. He was focused on one thing and one thing only.
The elevator couldnât come fast enough--Rafael tapped his foot anxiously, cursing the damned thing. As soon as it opened, he pushed the 8th floor button at least ten times. He felt a rush of nausea, excitement, fear run over him. The elevator dinged and Rafael ran, rummaging through his pockets for his keys.Â
He opened the door as fast as he could, revealing Y/N calmly making a cup of tea in the kitchen. Lamplight illuminated the living room. Her laptop was opened to a document, purple and yellow sticky notes scattered on the table. 2000s Pop Hits playing in the background. He had captured her in her natural element; he was witnessing the essence of Y/N.
âBaby, itâs midnight,â he spoke, calmer than he had been all day.Â
âI know, but I was in the zone. I thought you wouldnât be home tonight,â she answered, walking over to place a kiss on his lips, before strolling back to the kitchen to stop the whistling kettle.Â
Rafaelâs heart was beating out of his chest. His hands were shaking, mind racing. This was it. This felt right.
âY/N?âÂ
âWhatâs up, babe?â She gently blew on her tea to cool it down.Â
âI quit my job today.âÂ
Y/N almost did a spit, âIâm sorry, what?â She exclaimed.
âI couldnât do it anymore. It broke me, Y/N.â He sighed, walking to her side, âThere are better things in life than case briefs and court.â
Y/N was shocked but supportive, âWell, Iâm glad youâre finally free. Why donât you get ready for bed and sleep for the first time in a decade?â She laughed, placing her hand on his shoulder.Â
âThereâs one more thing,â Rafael said, reaching into his pocket and for the emerald box that housed his grandmotherâs ring,Â
Rafael expected the words to escape him; he hadnât prepared anything in the taxi. These werenât summations, he needed guidance.
But that didnât stop him.Â
âY/N, you made me realize that I donât want to live my life circling the drain and going through the motions. You have brought color to my black and white life. The joy you bring me everyday is immeasurable. Every second I spend away from you makes me feel like the world is ending. I canât live without you, Y/N. Thatâs why Iâm asking you-â Rafael began to bend his knee before Y/N cut him off.
âYes! You donât even have to ask. Yes, yes, yes!â She exclaimed, a tear already sliding down her cheek.
Rafael pulled out his grandmotherâs golden ring from the box and slipped it on Y/Nâs finger with extra care, as if she was made of glass. Tears had formed in his eyes as well, seeing the ring that reminded him so much of the other most important lady in his life. The most romantic person he had ever met.Â
âI love you, Y/N. I wish I could have given you a better proposal, but I couldnât wait,â he chuckled, once again admiring how well the ring hugged her fingers.Â
âIf you waited any longer, I was going to ask you,â she laughed, kissing him again and again. âLetâs go to bed,â she whispered, placing a kiss on Rafaelâs neck.

Headcanons for Being Best Friends then Dating Kelly SeverideÂ
Kelly is an affectionate softie when it comes to the people he lovesÂ
So when you became friends years ago, you quickly became used to his constant touch and childish giggles
And his suggestive comments that boarded on flirtingÂ
All of this was just the way you had come to know KellyÂ
Being his best friend meant that you always had the comfort of knowing he would always be there for you, and he knew that he could always confide in you
After a tough case or a breakup, you would comfort Kelly, petting his head as it laid in your lap
Occasionally, heâd look up at you with his deep blue eyes and it would stop your heart
But for the most part, you had never thought of Kelly as anything other than your best friend who likes to be a daredevil but also loves to be babiedÂ
Your feelings became clear on a random Tuesday afternoon
You had moved into a new apartment and asked Kelly to help you paint on his day off. Of course, he happily obliged, especially after you threatened to ask Matt if he didnât help
You powered through and finished the whole apartment within five hours, but it was exhausting
You grabbed your water bottle and laid on the kitchen floor. Kelly soon joined you, laughing at your dramatic streak
âIt wasnât that bad,â he said. Before you could reply, he grabbed his thumb and wiped your cheek, âYou have a little paint right here.â
It was a simple gesture but it ignited your soul. That was when you realized that you were in love with Kelly Severide
That moment occupied your mind for the next week. How could you fall in love with your best friend?Â
Kelly noticed a shift in your demeanor the next time you hung out. He couldnât figure out what you were thinking, but he knew that your mind was somewhere other than focusing on the movie you had been watching
He hit the pause button and turned to face you, âWhat is up with you lately, Y/N? Youâre in another dimensionâ
You were caught off guard, which left you without time to formulate a proper excuse. You just replied, âIâm fine.â
He refused to accept your answer and kept pushing for the truth, relentlessly at that
âFINE!â You conceded, âbut you have to promise that you wonât stop being my friend after what I say next.â He nodded, adding that he would never stop being your friend
You told him how you felt and that somewhere along the way, you had fallen in love with him. It was never your intention, it just happened
In true Kelly fashion, he responded with a kiss and a cheesy grin, âTook you long enoughâ
The next night, he took you on the best first date imaginable
Within a month, he introduced as his girlfriend to everyone at the station
Of course, bets were made on how long it would take you two to get together. Mouch won.Â
Eventually you would get married and have kids, but not without a few obstacles along the way
Regardless of the challenges life threw at you two, everyday with Kelly feels like a fairytale
A fairytale where you worry about how far the prince will go but are immediately comforted when he comes home, places a kiss on your forehead, and assures you everything will be alrightÂ
Have you got a masterlist that you could link?? LOVE your writing!!
Hey! So I donât have an updated masterlist as of yet, but I am working one and will reblog this w the link after I post it. In the meantime, I tag everything with the form of writing (ex: drabbles, imagines, etc,) the show, and the character (ex: jay halstead imagine or rafael barba x reader). Also, thank you ily!!!Â
So yes and no...... I am still writing, but with everything that is going on right now, I probably wonât be fully active and posting for a while. Hopefully, Iâll open up requests again!Â

Could you do a request for having a son with either Kelly or Matt and the pregnancy is rough but theyâre there for you the whole time âşď¸
Headcanon for Having a Rough Pregnancy with Matt Casey
When you told Matt you were pregnant, he was over the moon. He called everyone he knew and told them the news. The whole firehouse was just as excited as him
He started bringing home toys and clothes that he saw in store windows--Â âWe had a call and I saw this at the store across the street,â heâd say, holding up a onesie with some ultra cheesy saying on it
You two were super excited to start your family; itâs all you had talked about from the day you got married
But a few months in, everything changed
You were admitted to the hospital after passing out in the grocery store. You told the doctors it was nothing, but they diagnosed you with preeclampsia and suggested that working from home while on bedrest may be the best option
Of course, Matt took this very seriously. He started taking more night shifts to ensure that you were in bed and well taken care of during the day
He would make you breakfast in the mornings, make you a cup of tea (with a side of cuddles) if you were cold, and he knew better than to come home without at least ice cream from the creamery down the street
If you were having a particularly rough day, he would just lay with you in bed, stroking your hair. He would research different parenthood things on the internet, occasionally showing you a Pinterest post about homemade baby food
He was undoubtedly the biggest teacherâs pet in your lamaze classes. He took notes
Sometimes you would catch him baby proofing things in late at night, especially if he had a bad day at work
He also developed an obsession with Amazon Prime. In just a one week period, he ordered: a Baby Brezza, two wipe warmers, a diaper genie, a six pack of baby socks, three blankets, and matching âParent-to-Beâ shirts for the two of you
Mattâs favorite thing to do was to decorate the nursery. You were adamant on helping, but as you got farther along, it became harder to do. So Matt gladly took over
When you felt your first contractions, you ignored them, chalking it up to gas or general discomfort. It wasnât until they were three minutes apart that you called Matt
He was in the middle of a four alarm fire, so he couldnât leave right away (even though Boden had given him permission to)
So when he arrived at the hospital, covered in soot, you were getting ready to push
He coached you through, reviewing the breathing techniques you learned in your lamaze classes
By the end of the excruciating process, the nurse handed you a beautiful baby boy. He had Mattâs blue eyes and your nose. He was perfect
And he had a record number of visitors waiting outside to meet the newest addition to the Casey familyÂ
Headcanons for Reid having an S/O who's a genius like him but is a wild, hedonistic party girl?
Headcanon for Spencer Reid Having a Wild S/O
Oh, the irony! The irony that none of the BAU team would ever let Spencer live down
How could the planetâs biggest nerd fall for someone who parties at every opportunity they got?
Well, opposites attract. And the two of you are a match made in Heaven.Â
You met while Spencer was undercover at a local club. You immediately sensed something was up just by his body language and the fact that he did not look like your typical club-goer
So naturally, you decided to strike up a conversation, one which Spencer awkwardly tried to ignore. You were persistent and by the end, you had exchanged numbersÂ
You agreed to meet Spencer for dinner on your first date and it was a nice opportunity to get to know one another, but afterwards, you were insistent on going somewhere âmore livelyâÂ
Spencer is constantly worried that you might leave him for someone more fun, more interesting, more popularâ but you think his random facts and rants about neolithic art were far more fascinating than any party. You two had extremely elaborate debates about things too
One time, you had a Lincoln Douglas debate about when the most influential era of history was. You won, but only because Spencer was tired and just wanted kisses
Although partying is a part of who you were and youâre not going to sacrifice a big part of you two make someone else happy. Spencer understood that fairly quickly
He recognized that partying wasnât about drinking or drugs to you; it was a way to escape. When youâre caught in the rush of music, surrounded by friends and strangers alike, the worries of the world fade away. Instead, youâre living in the moment. It was better than any high
It was also a fun way to get Spencer out of his shell a bit. You took him to karaoke nights, bar trivia tournaments (which your team is currently undefeated 23-0) and even a silent disco-his favorite activity by farÂ
You also took Penelopeâs spot as the best party thrower on the team. She relinquished any party duties to you, although she still gives the best gifts
The best party you ever threw was for Spencerâs birthday two years ago. It was a space theme, with geographically-correct planet cupcakes and glow-in-the-dark cups. Everyone dressed as their favorite space-related character and you tried to compile a massive playlist of space songs, but by the end of the night, you were all singing âPiano Manâ arm in arm
Although a party goer isnât Spencerâs ideal type, you are perfect for each other. You show him the fun things in life, while he reminds you that sometimes itâs okay to settle down and take it slow
Could I have a head cannon where jay finds out you use to be a cheerleader
Headcanon for Jay Halstead Finding Out You Used to Be a CheerleaderÂ
You two were sitting at Mollyâs with the rest of the team when the topic of high school came up
You were telling the story of when you pranked your cheer coach, which was undoubtedly your favorite memoryÂ
Jay stopped you mid story -- âYou were a cheerleader?âÂ
âYeah, from fifth to twelfth gradeâ and you continued on with your story
Although Jay couldnât shake the new bit of information he had just learned about you. You were totally not the cheerleader type
âA cheerleader?â He mumbled underneath his breath on the walk home
âYes, a cheerleader,â you answered, annoyed that he kept bringing it up
âCan you show me some moves?â
You slapped his arm, offended that he would even ask. You werenât an acrobat or gymnast, you just stood on the sidelines of football games and shouted some cheers.Â
It was a fun thing to do; you were with your friends, it was a constructive way to let out some energy, and it looked good on a college application. Plus, the competitions were the best times of your life.Â
So to answer Jayâs question, you simply began reciting your teamâs signature chant
âI told you I was just a cheerleader.â
Years down the road, when your daughter was old enough to join the cheer team, you offered to be the coach. You even enlisted the help of Jay to come up with some creative ways to teach
He loved being involved, especially because it was obvious that your daughter was going to follow in your footstepsÂ
Also picture this: Jay in a whole bunch of school spirit attire (face paint on his cheek,) learning how to tie your daughterâs hair in ponytail w/ her cheerleading bow, and coaching her from the stands every time the team scores a touchdown. Heâs a little league cheer dad!!!Â
Good night , I am fan of OneChicago especially Med. My head canon is April Sexton and Ethan Choi aka Chexton. May you write a story or Drabble about them ? Thanking you in advance
Today had been a successful day for both Ethan and April. Every case had a satisfying conclusion, which was a nice change of pace from their daily life. They were even able to leave on time.
April was putting on her coat in the lounge, before Ethan came busting in like a kid on Christmas.Â
âI just got us reservations at Alinea for 8pm,â he grinned.Â
âEthan, that place costs a fortune.âÂ
âWell you deserve it,â he smirked, placing a kiss on Aprilâs neck, âtonight is all about you.âÂ
April couldnât help but to laugh at Ethanâs excitement. It was the only night they could sneak off somewhere expensive and magical. They both deserved it.
When they got home, April rushed to the shower to begin getting ready. Ethan tried to use the bathroom to freshen up but April ushered him out. She wanted to surprise him.Â
The hours ticked by a crawling pace for Ethan, but for April, there wasnât enough time. She made sure every little detail was perfect, from her nail polish to her earrings. It felt good to be pampered.Â
Ethan patiently waited for April to finish, reclining on the couch and playing with his phone. He knew better than to rush her. The sound of the bedroom door opening jolted him upright. It was that sight of April in a strapless black dress, makeup on and smile illuminating her face that made him breathless.Â
âYouâre the most beautiful woman in this world,â he spoke, caressing her cheek before planting a kiss to her lips, âmaybe we should cancel those reservations.â
âIn your dreams, Ethan,â she placed a finger to his lips, before grabbing her purse and heading to the front door.Â

Okay, weird idea I just had. Consider being set up on a blind date with Connor Rhodes?
âY/N, how do you feel about blind dates?â Maggie, your best friend, asked.
âI think theyâre weird. Theyâre always awkward and I feel obligated to like the person,â you cringed, thinking of the numerous blind dates you had been on that went wrong.
âYouâre such a cynic,â she laughed, âbut honestly, I think Iâve found the perfect guy for you.â
âIs he rich and successful?â you joked.
âYes, actually.â
âOkay, fine, but I want a fancy dinner and flowers out of this,â you sighed, folding your arms. There was no way you were going to go out with a rich man and not capitalize upon the opportunity for a free, expensive meal. Not when you were still paying for student loans.Â
You were early to the date, so you sat down at the table and ordered your favorite drink. The restaurant he chose was one of the nicest in Chicago-like reservation nice-but you were shocked by how quaint and romantic it was inside. It was already the nicest date you had ever been on and you hadnât even met your suitor for the evening.
âY/N?âÂ
You glanced up from the menu, meeting the gaze a dark-haired, well-dressed man with a bouquet of red roses.
âYou must be Connor,â you smiled, reaching for his hand.
He grabbed yours, kissing it gently, âMaggie forgot to mention that you were so beautiful.â
âItâs not usually what Iâm known for,â you blushed.Â
âWhat are you known for?â
You went on to talk about your jobs, family, and favorite movies. Both of you loved the Godfather movies; you both made at least ten references to it throughout the night. For dessert, Connor suggested that you share a sampler of every dessert on the restaurant, an offer which you couldnât refuse. You were genuinely surprised by how down-to-earth he was.Â
âThat was the most fun Iâve ever had on a blind date,â you giggled, putting on your jacket.Â
âMakes me really optimistic for a second date. How about we do this again next week?â
âThatâs surely a long time to wait,â you pouted.
Connor stopped so you were now face-to-face. He caressed your cheek, gently rolling his thumb over your cheek, before going in for a kiss. You lingered in the kiss momentarily, making a mental note to thank Maggie.

Being told what to do was quite possibly your least favorite thing in the world. Maybe thatâs why you became a cop. Itâs definitely why you joined the Intelligence Unit. The mantra of the unit was âdonât tell me what to do.â So naturally, you fit right in.Â
Thatâs also where you met Adam Ruzek, the Golden Boy who skipped being a beat cop and went straight to Intelligence. You two immediately couldnât stand each other. He was a know-it-all and you were the most headstrong person he had ever met. He was insufferable.Â
Jay and Erin caught on to you two instantly, always suggesting that you two should partner up. You taunted one another like kindergarteners. Adam would steal your badge, hold it above your head, and make you jump to grab it. You would peer over his shoulder and make fun of his poor attempts at messaging girls on Tinder. It was obvious to everyone except the two of you that you were crazy in love with each other.Â
Eventually you two came to your senses and after a wild case that lead to you both being injured, Adam confessed his feelings. Within a year, you were married. You had found your partner in crime, your better half, the only person on the planet who was as stubborn as you.Â
Currently, you were in the middle of a grueling case. Two women had been abducted and there were no leads to be found. It was like you had exhausted every possible lead with no avail. They were taken in broad daylight, but no one admitted to seeing the culprits. The kidnapper was taunting the team. It was a mess.Â
âHey, babe, you should get some rest. Youâve been at this for over 24 hours,â Adam said, placing his hands on your shoulder, giving them a gentle rub.
âI canât, Adam, not with them still out there,â you spoke without taking your eyes off the evidence.
âY/N, heâs right. Go home, take a nap and a shower. Weâve got it,â Kevin suggested.Â
You just glared at the both of them, before entering the break room to brew another cup of coffee. You were struggling to keep your eyes open, but that didnât matter. The only thing that mattered was bringing these two women home safely.Â
After staring at the evidence for another hour and a half, you finally had a break through. You rushed over to the board and posted the surveillance photos from the abduction sight.Â
âI think he was watching them. He knew their routine, he knew that they met up every Thursday for lunch at the same diner. He knew the perfect time to strike.â
âThat makes sense. He wouldâve scoped the place out beforehand,â Upton agreed.Â
âThatâs why he knew there was an alley close by,â Jay added.
âRuzek, Kev, get in contact with the husband and boyfriend, see if they received any unusual gifts or saw anyone following them around lately,â Voight ordered.Â
Adam and Kevin reported back, saying that one of the woman had been receiving weird notes from a former boyfriend. It had to be him. Jay tracked down his address and Voight ordered the team to gear up.
âMaybe you should sit this one out, Y/N, you look like Hell.â
âAdam, Iâve been working this case nonstop for the past 36 hours. Iâm bringing this scumbag in myself.â
âWhen was the last time ate something? Had anything to drink other than black coffee?âÂ
âI donât know, that doesnât matter right now,â you huffed, getting out of your chair. You must have stood up too fast because it felt like the whole room was spinning.
âY/N, please,â pleaded Adam.
You ignored him and went with the unit anyway. When you arrived to the suspectâs house, you immediately heard screams coming from the basement. Hailey followed close behind as you busted the lock off the door. You found the girls in the basement, huddled together in a corner. You took off their restraints and brought them upstairs, reiterating that they were safe now and would be okay.Â
You managed to make it upstairs before the room started to go black. You saw Adamâs face before everything went black.Â
âY/N, babe, please wake up,â you heard Adam beg, as you regained consciousness. You were in the back of an ambulance
âAdam,â you groaned, reaching for the water bottle in his hand.
âHey, you scared me there,â he kissed your forehead.Â
âI feel like I got hit by a bus.â
âThatâs because youâre dehydrated and exhausted.â
âYeah, thatâll do it,â said the paramedic.
You laughed, clutching your head in pain, âmaybe Iâll listen to you next time.â
âThatâll be a first,â Adam chuckled, âIâm glad youâre okay, baby.â
âI love you, Adam.â
âNot as much as I love you, my stubborn angel.â
Requests are now open! Itâs almost midterm season, so I canât promise that Iâll be speedy, but I am ready for the challenge. Drabbles and headcanons will probably get done first, but I am opened to some imagine ideas, too.Â
Yay I'm glad you're back! I was wondering if you could do fem reader soulmate au with Amanda when she denies it at first and hurts y/ns feelings but later apologizes and fluff :0 its totally fine if you are too busy! đ
You had spent your entire life watching the years, days, seconds on your soulmate clock tick down. It was impossible not to stare, as it was embedded in your wrist. It was a constant reminder that you would soon find your soulmate. The most exciting chapters of your lifeâs book were yet to be written.Â
Your clock had been fluctuating between 7 days and 23 hours for the past week, which was extremely nerve-wracking. Your soulmate was close, but you kept missing each other. The doubt had crept into your mind as to whether you would find each other at all. I mean, you lived in New York City, statistically one of the worst places in the world to find your soulmate.Â
It was a Saturday night and you decided to go out with your friends. They had all found their soulmates but were more than willing to keep you occupied until you found yours. As you got in the taxi, your clock began to count down from 3 hours. You immediately texted all of your friends, asking them to bring the best makeup they could find. You were not going to meet your soulmate without looking like a Goddess. Highlight and lipstick were invented for a reason.Â
When you entered the club, you sat around the bar, figuring that would be the best place to meet the highest concentration of people. You all staked your claim to stools and began the hunt.Â
âWhat if itâs him?â Your friend said, pointing to a man in cowboy hat and plaid shirt.Â
âNo thanks,â you laughed.
âWhat about her?â She said, pointing to a black-haired woman with snake bite piercings and killer eyeliner.
âIâm scared of her.â
âWhat about her?âÂ
There was a blonde woman leaning against a table, chatting with another man whose eyes were wandering. They both looked a little stiff, but when she smiled, your heart jumped. You had a feeling.Â
Just as you were about to get up and talk to her, she disappeared. Following your gut, you decided to find her. You searched through the crowd before you finally came face to face. Thatâs when your clock buzzed and flashed red, meaning that you had found your soulmate.Â
âExcuse me,â you managed to say, still shocked that you had just met the person you were destined to be with.
Her whole demeanor changed. She looked almost as if she couldnât be bothered, despite the fact that her life was about to change. She scoffed, before hurrying away.Â
You were heartbroken. Your soulmate had just rejected you without even saying a word. The next few days were miserable, empty tissue boxes and the same pajamas for three days miserable. You put tape over your soulmate clock and decided to forget the whole thing. It was time for a shower and a trip to the local coffee shop.Â
Before you could leave, there was a knock at the door. You huffed, looking through the peephole. It was her. You reluctantly opened the door.
âHi,â she spoke softly, âIâm Amanda.â
âY/N.â
âY/N,â she smirked, repeating your name. She took a deep breath, âI owe you an apology for the other night. See, Iâm a detective and I was in the middle of an undercover investigation. I was caught off guard. I went back the next day to see if I could figure out your name. The bartender saved your receipt after seeing our clocks go off.â
âYou must be a great cop,â you said sarcastically, avoiding eye contact.
âY/N, please,â she caressed your cheek, lifting your head, âgive me another chance. I promise you, we are meant to be together.â
You couldnât help but to concede, she was your soulmate after all. âI was just about to go get coffee. Care to join me?â you asked, holding out your hand.Â
âIâd be honored, soulmate,â Amanda grinned, grabbing your hand and following you out of the apartment. The most exciting chapters of your lifeâs story had just begun.Â

Hi babe, glad to see you're open again! Could I request headcanons for a relationship between Steve McGarrett x reader, where the reader is younger (of age) and her father works at Five-0 so she kind of grew up around Steve and always had a major crush on him, and then they get into a relationship? Thank you!! I'm so excited to read it!!
Headcanons for Being Younger and Having a Crush on Steve McGarrett
Letâs be honest: who doesnât have a crush on Steve McGarrett? Heâs daring, loyal, and gorgeous
He was also a good ten years older than you and he worked with your fatherâŚ.not a winning combination
You grew up with Steve, as your fathers were partners for as long as you could remember. He was like your big brother. Except you despised when people said you acted like brother and sister. There was no sibling rivalry, teasing, or confiding in each other. Absolutely nothing sibling-like
You were friendly with each other but in reality, you were in love with Steve. Like hearts for eyes and heart beating out of your chest in love with him.Â
For being around cops your whole life, youâre surprised not one of them noticedâŚor at least acknowledged it
You moved away for college, leaving your family in Hawaii behind. You spent twelve years moving from state to state with your job. You had relationships but nothing ever felt right. You were still hung up on Steve.Â
After those twelve years, you finally found an opportunity to move back home. Your father was getting older, in fact his retirement party was in a week.
Your father didnât know you were coming home for the party or that you were there to stay. So when you showed up unannounced, all of the guests went wild. It was a Five-0 party so you didnât expect anything less
You gave him his gift, writing in the card âIâm here to stay.â Everyone was excited to have you around again
The party was dying down when Steve approached you, âGlad to see youâre sticking around for a while. Heâs really missed you. Iâve missed you, too.â
âNot as much as Iâve missed all of you. The mainland isnât nearly as excitingâÂ
âYouâve been gone for twelve years, a lot has changed,â he smirked, âIâll have to show you around sometime.â
You paused, before realizing what he was implying. âSteve McGarrett, are you asking me out on a date?â
âMaybe.âÂ
You two fell in love hard and fast. Within months, you had moved in together. A year later, Steve had proposed
Your father joked, âif I knew retiring would bring you two together, I wouldâve done it a lot sooner.â
Hi! Could I possibly get a headcannon for barba regarding when he gets jealous? â¤ď¸ I was also wondering if you have a masterlist
Jealous Rafael Barba Headcanons
âI donât get jealous,â he says as he pulls you closer and expresses an excessive amount of PDA
Sometimes he is very good at hiding his jealousy, especially in a professional setting
He bites his tongue if one of his coworkers stares a little too long when you enter his officeÂ
He cuts the conversation short, directing them out of his office, before closing his blinds and hastily kissing you
If youâre out to dinner and a waiter or a random guy at the bar lingers for longer than heâd like, Rafael gets touchyÂ
Hands on your hips or the small of your back, fingers interlocked, kissing your neck, whispering in your ear â anything to distract you from everyone else in the roomÂ
This usually leads to sloppy kisses in the back of the taxi and the occasional hideous love bite on your neckÂ
When you first met the squad, Carisi was smitten. Completely unaware that you had dropped by to deliver a case file to Rafael, he went out of his way to accommodate youÂ
You innocently accepted his kind gestures while you waited for Rafael to finish up in the interrogation roomÂ
Eventually you confessed to being Rafaelâs partner, but your conversation continued. He was a good entertainerÂ
You casually hit his arm as you laughed at his joke â at the same time Rafael entered the squad roomÂ
He cleared his throat, looming over Carisiâs desk. Carisi immediately tensed up, but you played right into his game
âRaf, you never told me how funny Sonny is!â You giggled, touching his arm againÂ
âYes, heâs hilarious,â he mumbled, âletâs get lunch.â His suggestion boarded a demandÂ
You waved goodbye to Carisi and followed Rafael into the hallway
When the elevator came, Rafael avoided eye contact. He just leaned over and whispered âYouâre mineâ in your ear, sending chills down your spine
**I didnât see the masterlist part of this until now, and I donât, but everything is tagged with character, show, and type of writing (imagine, drabble, etc)!!!*
