Character A: you wouldn’t believe what happened!

Character B, shoving a glass of water at them: Drink this first

Character A: what? No, I-

Character B: drink the water

Character A: …okay?

In multiple setting and scenarios they just always have a water bottle on them and the second something is amiss the first thing they check is that everyone is still staying hydrated. Bonus points if that add on some facts on dehydration.

Character A: good morning

Character B: don’t forget to drink water today

Character A: I won’t

Character B: a guy at my work once passed out because he didn’t drink enough water

Character A: …okay

Character B: did you know that 95% of people don’t drink enough water?

Character A: I didn’t. What has that got to do with what we’re talking about?

Character B: …just something to think about…

“It wasn’t?”

"Then don't say it."

"But if trauma were a competition then you'd be winning it. You're practically swimming in the stuff. Even if you took away like half of-"

"Alright! Alright, I got it. Thank you for your insightful observations on my-"

“I know.”

“You should be sleeping.”

“I know.”

“You’re what?”

“I said I’m sorry.”

“You’ve said that a million times.”

"And what if I said no?"

"I would say that's a very stupid thing to say."

"Well yeah, but let's say I say no, but then run away anyway."

"You're a fucking idiot."

“Oh?”

“Yeah. Oh.”

“What is it?”

“That’s a lot.”

“A lot of what?”

“Blo-”

“Omg you were shot!”

Irrigation flickered across character b’s face, leg bouncing, as they were asked the question for the second time in the evening.

“Yes, I said I’m fine.”

Character a nodded slowly, and kept their eyes on b. “Okay, sorry.”

“No,” they shook their head, looking physically pained. “I’m sorry. I just- sorry.”

“Hey, it’s okay.”

“No. I can’t.”

“Why not?”

“You know exactly why not.”

“I don’t.”

“You can’t be serious? I’m not going to let you give up just because I’m not there any-“

“It’s not giving up, it’s letting go.”

Character b drags out a long exhale, fingers pinching the bridge of their nose. “Didn’t know what?”

“It’s not your fault,” Caretaker says, as they conquer the distance between them.

Whumpee shakes their head as tears stream down their face. “I’m sorry,I’m sorry I’msorryI’msorryI’msorryI’msosorry”

“Then what would you call last night?”

“A mistake.”

“Yeah, it was. His mistake, that’ll he’ll continue to make.”

“You don’t even know him!”

“I know enough. It’s a pattern.”

“I love him. He made one mistake. Leave it alone.”
