rambling. idk if it's fair to say if megatron was 'addicted' to dark energon as much as he was willing to abuse dark energon to exploit its power. i feel like contextually there is a difference since substance use is typically more in line with escapism (not wanting to feel certain things, controlling unwanted behaviors, basically feeling more baseline and emotionally regulated).
that isn't to say megatron doesn't have addictive behaviors, personality defects, or that dark energon use isn't fucking with his mind. i think if he was truly about winning the war, megatron would have very easily won the war. but i think another part of it is he enjoyed finding new and more fucked up ways of hurting people (and at times himself).
how megatron 'flirts': he lures them into a one on one fight. he gets them alone and trapped and unable to escape. someone wanted his attention? lets see them survive it.

ooc. logs in for the first time in months just to say a quick thing because i was plagued by a random thought.
i don't think megatron being 'addicted' to dark energon or having an addictive personality is anything to shy away from. i also don't think it takes away from his character (re: makes him a little stupid). if i could remember this blog exists (lol @ my life) i would write it more in-depth.
mostly. it's 100% okay to recognize that megatron is entirely flawed and was willing to sacrifice his sanity and his body not just to be last one standing, but to make sure everyone else felt every ounce of his hatred.
i think it speaks a lot to his barbarism and brutality and just how far he is willing to go (part of that being nuanced by how dark energon is impacting him). which, makes him pretty neat and not as silly as his eyes might look.
