short form writers look at people writing 100k+ fics as though this is some sort of talent given as part of a fae bargain, that the commitment required shows some sort of ungodly mental fortitude.

Iāve taken a quick break from ārock nā rollā to work on the next installment of my Spy Kids AU series, āhow are you so loved and so lonesome?ā Crazy how something that was supposed to be lighthearted antics of a spy family turned into Grown Up Feelings and Mortal Peril lol. Okay so Iāve never seen The Boys and I have no desire to, but I know some of the basics of the show and it got me thinking about how media perception was such a huge part of the myth of the seven as a cohesive team- like they all had to appear friendly and close and, ya know, functional, and they of course had fans- and where there are fans, thereās a fandom
So I have to wonder: what was the fandom for the seven like, and how similar was it to the fandom for the avengers movie- like how much fanfic was there of all the seven living in vought tower (thatās a thing right?) together and being besties?

Out of all your fics which on is your favorite to write?
Oh mannnnnnnnnn- fair warning, this isnāt really going to answer the question lol
I feel like itās a cop out if I say I love all my fics equally, but Iām afraid itās true. I think that my motivation for each can wax and wane- some chapters the ideas come easily, and some are more of a challenge. Itās one of the reasons why sometimes (especially recently Iām afraid) there are more grammatical errors or less of a flow to some of my chapters- itās been more of a challenge recently, and I donāt like going back to proofread because I get stuck in the minutiae of my writing, and lose my motivation.
I think, however, I do have arcs or moments that are my favorites more than others- typically the scenes I think are especially important for the story. As @phopollo can attest (sorry pho, Iām dragging you into this lol), in rock n roll, chapters 33 and 34 (referred to as āthe momma chapterā and āthe engine beat up chapterā respectively) were workshopped long before they were written properly- I started planning chapter 34 in earnest around chapter 23, when Slick has her nightmare- I wanted there to be parallels between that incident and the one Slick and the reader experience in real time. And of course, a conversation with Momma was on the cards from the beginning.
What keeps me writing is the stories themselves- I write what is interesting in the moment and go from there. I hate leaving stories unfinished, so thatās part of the motivation: I want to give my characters good and satisfying endings (but theyāre going to work for them first lol), but sometimes Iāll take a break from my longer stories to write shorter things- my spy kids inspired piece, the mob AU piece, the danger kontrolle fic, and yes, even the anonymous works. Whatever suits my fancy at the moment- the most important thing is continuing to write, to create something- even if I might think it sucks in retrospect, I keep moving forward. I love them all for what they are regardless. Itās all cake to someone.
