Navigating Motherhood

This feeling is real and it’s not nice. In fact it can be crippling. Cue anxiety.

Ever since child one was 2 and I returned to work I’ve had extreme mom guilt. He is now 7 and at school. Yes school which is exactly where he is supposed to be and you as the mother dearest are supposed to be at your job doing the adult thing. Right?

There was a time where I would jet off to another country for my own self care self absorbed, intoxicated state of mind (oh I miss being drunk after 8 beers). Nowadays the closest I’ll get to any sort of exotic escape is in front of my longest reigning friend “Netty”.

Just 3 straight, consecutive, non stop hours. That. Is. All.

In my mind floats dozens of ideas that I would love to come to life. But there’s always a road block at the starting point that has become my own undoing.

I think I lost Vika somewhere after 2011. Since then she has been floating in space waiting to come back down. But to what state of being she will arrive to is nowhere near ready.

Clearly I am the only one in the way of myself and I’d like to get back full control.

Overcoming myself begins today.
